Time only moves in one direction, folks... FORWARD. It ain't never gonna be 1955, 1967, 1970 or 1990 again. Be happy that the heroes from the old days are doing new, different stuff. Out here in Vegas, we got truckloads of artists who just re-hash all their hits from the 50's,60's etc. They're frozen in time, Mr. Plant is not. He is still willing to take risks, and will probably keep going for a long time. Embrace his willingness to continually test his creativity. This is great music!
Love the photo at the end when they're walking in the sand....She's so cute...the look on her face; it's like "look at me....I'm with Robert Plant and you're not, ha ha".....
Ever since Robert Plant showed up on Jimmy Page's doorstep with his favorite records 40 years ago he has been first and foremost a music lover. He has let himself and his voice grow old gracefully and I am glad to see him get notice on this record! Maybe even some newer, younger fans. Plant, Krauss, and Burnett continue to do great things.
I was a fan of both in their respective genres and it is a real treat to hear them together. Plant a legend and Alison one of the most talented ladies on the planet. Keep it coming.
How could a guy like Plant with his passion for music and musicians NOT fall in love with someone like her? Not even considering her beauty which is, well, considerable
This is proof that musical innovation can still come afloat. Im a Led Zeppelin diehard fan but seeing how Robert Plant and Alisson Krauss with the vision of TBone Burnett came together to create such a new air of melody and music, It's great news for the ones who are sick and tired of the "same old same old" in music. I hope they work together again and can't wait for it!
I'm Brazilian, 46, Zep fan since Zep I. Plant was and is a awesome musician. There's no word to describe Zep music and what Plant's voice, Page's riffes and Bohan's beat means to rock. They will last forever. Sorry but I've never heard about Alisson Krauss and probably woudn't hear if was not Plant and this project. At the first glance, my hard rock instinct and blood was reject it, but after a little while, I gave up. It's beaultiful. Blessed are the flexibles. They won't break !
Raising Sand is one of those that the first time you listen, you like and the more you listen the more you like. And there are a couple of songs where you just want to twist the knob off.
Unquestionably Robert's best post-Zep work. He understands and completely accepts his voice has changed from the Apocalyptic, head-splitting magnificence of Zeppelin in the 70's, to a more mellow, soulful, and gentler style of an older middle-aged man. He still undoubtedly has the feel and emotion he had with Zep just not the power anymore, but he accepts this and this is why Bluegrass suits him, plus Alison Krauss's voice fits his perfectly, an absolutely perfect and beautiful record:-)))))))
I saw them last year on tour....OMG....they were better live, I still get chills thinking about the way the harmony sounded. You can have her, I'll take him anytime!
I think its as good a "career opportunity" for Plant as it is for Alison Krauss. Its not only a beautiful piece of work, but the highest chart topper of his solo career.
i've never been overly keen on either singer but man, when I ever heard the two of them on this cd, i went out and grabbed it! Man, what a duel! They got me hooked on blue grass as well. I know Krauss does that, but I never knew plant had it in him for this!
I have this disc and it's awesome. I would almost say it's Plants best work snce Zeppelin..yes I said it! and who doesn't melt when they hear Alison sing... I dont care what your core music is...this is something that should be in everyones collection who appreciates talent and music!
Anybody looking at both their careers would immediately see there is nothing gimmicky about this project! Neither are the kudos they got from all sides "novelty" kudos. My bet is though that the majority of the critics here have not heard more of this album than what they heard in this video! Personally I say this is the best album I have heard in many years and I doubt very much it will soon be forgotten by any music lover! Already many artists are drawing inspiration from it!
I just bought this album and it's much better than I expected. To the doubters I have to ask, so what if it's forgotten shortly? Most music is forgotten. As for being gimmicky, anything people of this calibre do is going to have skeptics. So what? I have to hand it to Plant. He's one of the few 'rockers' from his era who seems to have kept a decent voice.
I heard the single from this album on GLOBE radio in DC and almost drive off the road! Can't wait for the lp...notice I said album and lp sooo it's obvious that I haven't been excited about buying any music to add to my collection in a very long time. Thanks for this video it totally added to my excitment I plan to soak up this video and send it along to friends while I wait for the CD release.
Robert Plant is the most talented rock singer of all time next to Elvis and Stephen Tyler and J Joplin. If you like rock music he is. If you don't then you won't get it.
i bought the album and i hadnt listened to it for a while, just did and it is mainly Alison singing and Robert backing her! Love that he did this with her its fun and so not him, he must have enjoyed a change in music genre! Why not he had fun and he can do what he likes he dosent need the royalties hopefully!
ok seriously people. im a HUGE zeppelin fan. and i, of course, was really skeptical of this and figured it would suck. BUT i decided just to listen to it with an open mind. so, i listened to some of it, and you know what, i really like it! just because robert isnt beltin away hard rock songs with no shirt on dosnt mean this sucks. he just did something different. i actually really like their voices together. it sounds nice.
Lol. I happened to see Blackmore's Night live on PBS, and I was blown away. At first I didn't make the connection to Ritchie Blackmore, having had some Deep Purple and Rainbow albums in the past. I have a soft spot for "Renaissance Fair," medieval lute and celtic music.
i have been around Zeps trip since before they were accepted as a great rock outfit..Robert had us all fooled ..This was a man that held the band together ..a dang tea and crumpet Rock abd Roll God.?.and he is still alive? and He and krause made love for us all to get some wuth this record that mkes us all part of that love making duet..who would have thunk,no?
Led Zeppelin does C&W...NOT. This is Robert Plant, Alison Krauss AND T-Bone Burnett, doing something awesome. Seriously: as a long-time (since 1969) Zeppelin fan, and a not-so-sure-cautious fan of Plant, I was completely blown away when I saw Plant & Krauss on Jools Holland's "Later" on BBC-E a couple of years ago. Then getting the album...suffice it to say that I think it is a masterpiece - and so does my wife, who is not even a Zeppelin fan. I do SO wish they'd do another one??
Wow...I'm just now checking this out and I have to say that it exceeded my expectations. I had only heard negative things about it thus far. But now that I think about the people that gave me those reviews I'm realizing that they are folks with a limited grasp on music altogether. I will definitely be checking out more of this ! Also, I have to agree with jpalberthoward and his top comment above and randomjohnsonjr and his opinion below.
True. And yeah people seem to have more fun crapping in each other in this forum than anything else. Either that or they do the "your artist sucks, mine rules" game which isn't very interesting either.
THERE IS A HISSING ON MY CD TOO!! It's on at least the first 4 tracks. I'm thinking of taking it back to Virgin MegaStore and getting another one. I'm so glad it's not just me that thought this was weird. It really makes it difficult for me to listen to such an otherwise wonderful CD!!
I've always liked hard rock, the blues, folk rock and folk music from around the world, including the real "down home" Appalachian music that you hear in "Oh, Brother, Where Art Thou" and "Will the Circle Be Unbroken." So for me this is kind of a dream collaboration. I've always liked Led Zeppelin, because they combined all those genres. In a way it seems like a natural way for Plant to go. Kind of like Ritchie Blackmore and his Blackmore's Night project.
I didn't mean he would necessarily do anything about it:) and I've found that attraction to another isn't something you can stop from happening to you nor does it fade with age. The type of person you're attracted to is still attractive to you over time. But my comment was meant as a positive one. An alien thing on this website and unwelcome as usual.

jpalberthoward9 That’s it exactly.
Gawd I love both of these fabulous musicians! Gifts to humanity
The harmony is just mind blowing. I just never saw Robert Plant singing with someone , but it works
magical combination and ....he's still the
sexiest living man on the planet
Really respect Plant for being so open to always growing and experimenting with music.
This is one of the most unbelievably great musical combinations--it defies imagination. Just really really transcendent music.
Love the photo at the end when they're walking in the sand....She's so cute...the look on her face; it's like "look at me....I'm with Robert Plant and you're not, ha ha".....

I would love to see a second album by these two
Awesome God got them together so excited and won awards crazy about both Robert Plant and Allison Krauss
that album is amazing, so nice to listen to !

Loved this album. think it was a great accomplishment from the two singers, especially Robert Plant who makes his mark as an all-timer.
I love this album. I listen to it everyday as I walk my dog. Their voices are perfection together.
michelle88960 ditto bar the dog. I played it none stop, I needed a break.
She has found herself in the unique position of touring with Robert Plant. Man, what a career opportunity.
Please do more stuff together! I love it!

. . . 'the blind people feelin the elephant' . . . 'both are nervous, and that's what I wanted' . . . T-Bone is a true genius
Actually, she's already extremely successful. She's won 21 grammy awards, which is the highest number ever achieved by any female artist.

Fabulous 😍 am Krause fan. When she sings " time stops you become real again "
I really love all the songs so much I can’t wait to see Robert and Allison in concert, please come to Seattle.
❤️🌈😊🦋☀️🌙✨
We just saw them in Cananadaigua, NY and they were AMAZING!~~ What an unlikely duo that TOTALLY ROCKS !!! Creative combinations...
This album sounds just gorgeous. Perfect for this time of year.
Legends.
thank u!
nice to see your paths come together!

still love the way robert sings!! just great!!
her talking voice and singing voice are so different!
This album was a gift.........to music.
Allison we all grew musically listening to this album!!!
robert plant is always fun to listen too
I saw them last year on tour....OMG....they were better live, I still get chills thinking about the way the harmony sounded.
You can have her, I'll take him anytime!
I think both of them are simply amazing together! How nice to see two different types of music combined so beautifully.
just listened to the album, its mindblowing so good their voices fit
I think its as good a "career opportunity" for Plant as it is for Alison Krauss. Its not only a beautiful piece of work, but the highest chart topper of his solo career.
I hope you all realize that you are in the presence of greatness.....
for me one of the best records ever !

they are both incredible people, so is T-Bone Burnett. rock the fock on!
I could listen and watch Alison all day!
I'm in awe 😍
Krauss & Plant very opposite poles of a singer duet , but music is a language that crosses and re-opens one inyo new dimension of self growth
Both are the best at what they're doing ..hopefully more albums will follow
I cant get this song outta my mind. They sound good together.. Never did I dream, but it works
You hear it one day. Bof. But it sticks to your brain and, the next day, you want to hear it anew.
what an awesome clip
this vid is a treasure, thank you, t-bone
Fabulous how their voices blend
I am excited to hear these two singing a John Prine song here, I gotta go buy the CD now.
I just got this cd..... diggin it
excellent fusion of 2 types of musicians...BOUGHT THE ALBUM...
Magnifique album , Robert Plant la plus belle voix au monde . Ils ont fait ensemble un rock qui n'a pas de temps (ex."Nothin")

Music Farming its what you plant grows❤
They sound like they had a blast doing this. Wish I could have been a part of it.

Bought it two months ago on vinyl. Can't get myself to break the seal. Better buy the CD too if it's as good as you say
amazing!
Brilliant two!
What a team.
i have been around Zeps trip since before they were accepted as a great rock outfit..Robert had us all fooled ..This was a man that held the band together ..a dang tea and crumpet Rock abd Roll God.?.and he is still alive? and He and krause made love for us all to get some wuth this record that mkes us all part of that love making duet..who would have thunk,no?

…” Melody and Creativity and Inspiration come from Vulnerability ”
The Space between The notes gives the Music a Rapture Quality…
It was an amazing album.
Must be. Have to be. I'm in love with both.
A great duo
definitely a great combo.
Led Zeppelin does C&W...NOT. This is Robert Plant, Alison Krauss AND T-Bone Burnett, doing something awesome.

They are past-due for a follow-up!
It's coming soon
November 19th
That's the Drop Day for,

liebe dies Album!!
Brilliant album.
OK - I'm sold here. When's this record coming out?
Wow...I'm just now checking this out and I have to say that it exceeded my expectations. I had only heard negative things about it thus far. So cool.
This project was Plant's best post-Zeppelin decision ever made.
Can hear the roots of rocks here.
Love this album, one of my favourites fro a long time, would love to see them do some more together, anyone know if there are any plans?
T Bone Burnett looks like Ralph Vaughn Williams. Classic!
Combined amazing talent
The match made in heaven is Page & Plant.
Sweet! :)

Love ya Robert, but Alison could harmonize with a walrus and it would sound "passable."
What a masterpiece! Especially "I f t h e w i l d b i r d c o u l d s p e a k, h e' d t e l l t h e p l a c e s h e h a s b e e n...." Gorgeous.
YES Polly Come Home is so perfect.

Musicians need to stretch and explore in order to make greater music. Glad these two did; this album's (can I still say "album"?) amazing.
wow what a lucky chance,i've met him once but not her... she seems so kind.
