As a life long music lover, Raising Sand struck me like no other collaboration ever had. I absolutely loved the music, and am anxiously waiting for my copy of Raise the Roof!
I grew up with Led Zeppelin, and so many of the great rock bands of that era . . . but also Ricky Skaggs, Allison Krause, and New Grass Revival. Loving this collaboration. Just incredible.
What I wouldn’t give to be in the same room as Alison Krause and Sir Robert Plant just as a human…what great energy🎉 it’s a high that my soul would float upon until the end.❤

@@jadefire2817 hes a real player though typically brit fella who knows when to turn charm up way higher than most and he's got in spades!! he played in Tenbury wells my local town a couple of weeks ago at the regal theatre it sold out in minutes- literally and was just brilliant.

When Raising Sand came out I was in the record store to buy something else. "Gone" started playing over the house speakers. I went up to the counter and bought the CD on the spot. Not a bad song on it. Love that Allison was doing so much different music.

That saying "the cream rises to the top" seems fitting, stars in the industry without ever crossing paths, but T Bone is the visionary and the only producer/mad scientist who could pull this collaboration off. Well done indeed.

I met Alison Krauss here in Jacksonville Florida. She step out from the Florida Theatre she told a photographer "Let me check on my baby" She saw me and she signed my cassette and she was a darling.

So nice to actually see folks in music that respect and love each other. No need to dis anyone to prove your point and the discussion was very funny and enlightening. I guess "no walls" is how I would put it. What music is supposed to be, but so often falls short of being.

Thank you for posting this. Pieces of it have been posted before and they seem to disappear. If you're seriously interested in it, better rip it to hard-drive before YT gets around to deleting it. Above all else, this interview tends to confirm what just about every commenter on YT says about Alison who has ever actually met her: That she is one of the nicest, most genuine persons you'd ever want to meet; someone without a bit of pretense who has not lost their humility to celebrity.
She is still quite a simple girl ❤

Through the morning through the night is te most magical (song) choice ever made.
During the discussion of the album title I guess I was a little surprised that no one mentioned Jimi singin' "...might even raise a little sand!" in "Voodoo Chile (Slight Return). Also, The Who used to perform "Fortune Teller" quite regularly on tour.

I look at Led Zeppelin like high school -college. Everybody says get back together. It's like after you graduate college high school trying to go back,and sit in class. Wouldn't work.
Wisely put. They produced some of the best music in my opinion but everything must pass. Robert keeps producing great music and I can't wait for Band of Joy II, and the new album he's recorded with Alison Krauss!
@SEZWAH- Not sure where the hostility is coming from. I'm only recognizing Robert's willingness to explore new musical territory. If that makes me a Plant fan, then sure I'm a huge one.
Never denied Jimmy Page was alive, he just hasn't done much musically since 2007 so I didn't see it fit to bring the man up. Its kind of comical that you associated my musical taste with panera bread and yoga.

@SEZWAH- You dont need to school me on Robert's career, from Pictures at Eleven to The Honeydrippers to Carry Fire, I listen to it all. Page should have moved on, just like Jones did, and just like Plant did. You don't do without some people, and John Bonham is that person you don't do Zeppelin without. It's a shame you're so angry about something so irrelevant. Zeppelin was amazing, and so was the reunion, but John isn't here, so I'm glad Robert and John Paul moved on to great interesting things, in my opinion.
@SEZWAH- You seem to be so fixated on the past, I love Zeppelin as well, but I don't need them to denigrate themselves and their legacy like the Who, another band I love, has. Keeping things going to please the fans is not the way to go, it's got to be stimulating and creative, and if it isn't, then don't do it.
