i am always struck in his interviews by how grounded and humble this man is. he's not just any guy from any band, but you'd never know it by talking to him. he's not caught up in his glory days, or starstruck by himself, and i've seen a lot of much less accomplished musicians who are far more impressed by themselves than even their fans. he gives off no sense of "yeah, i'm pretty awesome don't you think" even tho nobody could blame him if he did. and yet he lives on a higher plane than most of us could ever imagine, much less achieve. and still he's completely in touch with modern reality, including music. not to mention his continual charitable contributions, which he'll never bring up.
Utterly agree. Totally connected to his roots. Great sense of humour. Humble , unaffectted by fame. He's achieved so much in his musical life. I totally understand Roberts deep connection to nature. Its nice to travel. But no place like home. With your family. ❤❤❤
What’s so sexy and enticing about Robert is that he never stops moving, learning, trying, and growing over and over again. People may see him as this heavy metal god, I did when I was much younger, but I’ve come to appreciate the man he truly is whether he’s playing with Jimmy, singing with Allison, or telling us about ancient paganism - there’s no end to his greatness.
He knew the excellence of the original Fleetwood Mac, and he acknowledged their initial sound! Thank you again Robert Plant. He's such a class act on so many levels.
What a incredibly intellectual person even if he wasn't so famous a compassionate down to earth kinda guy that just has it and willing to share it hope he lives to be 100. ♥
A friend on G+ knows Robert and will back this up I'm sure. His name Jeff Nelson has jammed with him and videos and pics for proof. Pretty much life philosophy same lines. Check him out incredible plus him and family went through Katrina and still lives in Louisiana. He has more intestinal fortitude than me!!!
Like I said just G+ Jeff Nelson tell him you've talked to Shannon Fisher and ask him about Robert and what kind if person he is? One of his profile photos is Jeff and Robert sitting at a bar having a beer at a table shooting the breeze, plus he has video on RUclips of him and Robert jamming at a small bar in Louisiana, New Orleans. Cool stuff. :-)

Over the course of my life I've loved a lot of bands.. From Sabbath to the Old 97s to AC/DC to Jerry Reed. Each had their particular impact on me and I've observed the impact they have had on others. Robert, and Led Zeppelin.. are at the very pinnacle of my musical consciousness. I dont play Zep every day anymore & haven't for many years... but when I pick up my guitar or even think in terms of creating music, I am still blown away by what those guys did. If someone asked me one of those infamous stoner questions... "Hey, if you could magically transform into a rock band which one would you be?" .. I would say Led Zeppelin. What I especially liked about this interview was that his own summary of his musical journey to this point was reflective and paralell to his life journey. I wish that I could be as optimistic about todays music as Robert seems to be, but I am really happy that he has found that comfortable space he's been looking for since Zeppelin and I look forward to hearing more new music from him.
Well said! I'm just hitting my peak of playing them non stop and learning stuff on guitar and watching interviews and live performances. I know I wont be this enthusiastic about them in 10 years but I feel they might be the best to ever do it if I'm honest! Being a guitar player in my spare time I always leaned towards Jimmy more but I'm learning that they are all equally interesting characters. Fascinating to delve into and read up on haha
Zeppelin is and will always be my favorite band. They led me to the blues. But for those people who really want to know why a Zeppelin reunion tour will never happen? Watch this video! Intellectually amazing, influential and quite the roll model. Keep on keepin' on Robert.
He and Jimmy did a lot of post LZ performances and tours, especially in the mid to late 90's, and their 2007 performance with Bonzo's boy Jason!! That's good enough for me! They've put together so much amazing music and performances as a band, that to want anything more would be greedy I think! Robert is just such a musical explorer that wants to experience different flavors with different musicians; it's not that he dislikes talking about LZ, he just wants to continue to venture out in his life's experiences. I'm glad to know he gave up smoking, I didn't know he quit! I know Jimmy survived the booze and the heroin thank God! I'm sure Robert and Jimmy keep in touch and are still dear friends. I'm just glad I grew up in the 70's and know that that was the best time to be young and get exposed to the best music...EVER!!!!

Not many artist's can sing like Plant with the greatest rock group ever, but what really blew his mind was Nancy Wilson from Heart singing stairway to heaven at the Kennedy Center Honors....really captured his attention.
Ann Wilson is the primary singer in Heart. Nancy plays rhythm guitar. ...and I think the emotional element for him at the Kennedy Center Honors was probably Ann's vocals augmented by the choir.
+zepcowboy Totally agree with this. Ann Wilson's voice is just a blessing to the best rock song of all time. No one could have performed that to perfection like Heart. Everything about it, screamed pride and beauty. Led Zeppelin and the Obama's were there and that's what made it so special. The President of The United States of America watching a legendary rock band pay homage to the most legendary rock band ever (who are from my country) and the UK does rock and roll like no other country. Roberts early 80's stuff is so totally brilliant i don't think he's ever been able to top that. I jus heard 1969 Led Zeppelin opening for SPIRIT at the Fillmore, the Zep did a knarly nasty version of 1968 Spirit tune, "Fresh Garbage." Its so mangled you can hardly tell what the song is.

How can you hate a masterpiece you wrote ? I’ll never get it.
