As a Plant fan (who was alive when he was with Zeppelin) I'm constantly amazed at the music he and Krauss have produced. What a fantastic direction he has taken!
These two have rare chemistry...nobody should be surprised at Robert's willingness to sing a wide variety of songs. With Alison, it's pure magic. She's shown a lot of growth as a singer. So happy this collaboration continues to thrive.
Robert Plant fan is a given, but I've also been an Alison Krauss fan since the first time I heard "When You Say Nothing At All". I finally get to see them both 6/11/24!!
I admire Robert Plant for taking chances and constantly challenging himself and the perceptions of himself. Like Clint Eastwood, he is an evolving artist. Both have experienced an artistic renaissance in the past 10-15 years.
What has his age got to do with anything? Your comment is pejorative so would you dare make such a comment if he was black, or Jewish, or autistic etc? Ignorant ageism, like racism, has no place in a decent society.

I had a lady give me this album working at a 7 eleven about 15 years ago. I was getting my undergraduate degree in guitar at the time. I must have listened to it for 100 hours; such beautiful music
I wrote you the letter that I wrote. I’m glad that you made a song from it. I’m glad that you got it when you were feeling down. Now your on top of the world again. I love you Robert Plant always. ❤
I love how Robert has shapeshifted through his career. Don't get me wrong, i love some old school Kashmir, but he's moved on brilliantly. His voice is still smooth as buddah. Going to order this cd NOW.
Twelve years ago and I am just now hearing this great duo or the first time. My reaction is typical of anyone who know greatness when he hears it. They are just as good today as twelve years ago. What a gift of talent we all get to enjoy!
Mr. Plant has been voted one of the top all-time singers from England. Miss Krauss has been awarded by the President of the United States Mr. Trump for her contributions to art and music. I think it is a fairly great match and the song here is one of my favorites of the past ten years. I remember listening to Mr. Plant with Mr. Page back in the 1970's from their Led Zeppelin days and I first became aware of Miss Krauss in some of her collaborations some years ago. It's a remarkable match by two of the greatest singers on this side of the pond or the other.
Robert Plant is the most enduring, most creative Rock and Roll vocalist of the last 40 years. When the Yardbirds broke up, Jimmy Page and John Bonham recruited Robert Plant to be lead vocalist for Led Zeppelin. Robert Plant not only is a legendary singer, but he was the primary lyricist for the group. He wrote the lyrics for most of Led Zeppelin's music.
I love the whole album. Two legends at their very best. I played this song on guitar and sang the words every night for a month before I left my wife. I didn't write her a letter but it was over. This song I find is hauntingly suspended back in that time when I contemplated leaving her. Whenever I want to revisit those nights of weighing my choices I just pick up the guitar and play this song.
I have always appreciated the talent of both artists. It is beautiful to hear them together. To hear these two together is like butter and honey swirled together
@Alison Krauss oh my! Thank you so much 💕 for your kind reply. I will always be a fan. Your music touches the soul and is like a cool drink of spring water from a dipper. I would be honored to have more information. Warm thoughts and wishes for you and all whom you hold close🤗
@Alison Krauss Sorry, I have. Problem giving my personal information, just because of the breach of information. I would LOVE to give you my information and feel you are REAL but I can't understand why you have a simple e-mail. You are famous, why bother with me?
" ... Once I stood beside a well of many words My house was full of rings and Charms and pretty birds Please understand me, my Walls come falling down .."
I saw him in concert a few years ago, and I swear to you someone must have been cutting up onions in the row in front of me, because I kept on finding tears streaming down my face. Damn Onions!
When I heard about their 1st album, I thought someone was joking; talk about mismatches... they're from different planets! And I even loved both of them before... but, together? Boy was I wrong... and happily so. The world thought so, too, and awards rained down on them. But years passed... and damned if they didn't surprise me again, with a 2nd record. A world that can bring such different people together, to mix so beautifully? If only we could do that in everything else. Rob/Ali... thanks. I love you guys!
This has always been an awesome song, Allison Krauss lends so much to it, she is a true beauty and she has a perfect voice. They compliment each other so well. Rock on Robert Plant!
What a unlikely pair that some magic mind brought together. Simply the best. Hard rock and hard core bluegrass combined........ who else could have pulled this off? LOVE IT
Robert Plant and Alison Krauss met at a tribute concert to Leadbelly, and decided to collaborate. They crafted an album together in 2007 titled Raising Sand. The album featured production by T-Bone Burnett and songwriting by Plant, Tom Waits, Sam Phillips, Townes Van Zandt and Gene Clark among others.
Not so unlikely & actually, unsurprising from my perspective as Robert Plant always made it clear, post-Zeppelin, that he wanted to expand & evolve into other types of music. Also, much of his early style originated from the folk equivalent in England.
Love that he gets in a few of his famous ooohs at the end. A superb song from a superb album. The perfect melding of 2 beautiful voices. Beautiful golden lion of love ❤

I saw Plant with LZ at the Fillmore East just about 49 years ago (!) & Alison Krauss 30 years ago at a small county rodeo in Utah ( I think back then it was just labelled "Union Station"), both shows were about $5-6 dollars, good value for $$$!
I first saw Alison Krauss in 1989 @ a Folk Festival in Hillsdale, NY. I went there to see Roger McGuinn, who was great, as usual, but Alison & her band was an unexpected surprise. An accomplished fiddler @ I believe 17 y.o.

Their harmony, her fiddle, his voice, it’s crazy how it all worked out :)
...and we need to hear much more!🎶
Maybe a strange question, but what's the difference between a fiddle and a violin ?
@@wolatelier10There is no difference. Same instrument, two different terms. “Fiddle” is more of a country/bluegrass term for the violin.
Itzhak Perlman, famous violinist and teacher, called his instrument his “fiddle” rather tongue-in-cheek. He has a great sense of humor like Yo-Yo Ma!

This song and the album 'Raising Sand' is one of the best collaborative pieces of musical art I've ever heard.
One of my fave collaborations .. Plant did not want to do another one with Krauss ... Too bad , for all of us.
they started . then Robert bailed, don't know why.
Why ?
He'd done it, he knew they couldn't top it.

Love this song but years ago when my daughter was young we changed the words to "Please feed my little baby goat. "
