      They are really good guns at a reasonable price. It's a shame the quality control isn't particularly good 😕, cheers mate 👍

    Hi Pete, it's been a long while since I've seen anyone use that gun I haven't even used it myself for ages as it's not really a gun that I enjoy using but don't get me wrong it's a capable gun as you just proved here with the finish you got it's obvious that it lays the base and clear down really nice👌
    I think my AZ4 has the slower cap which might be why I don't use it as much saying that I don't really use many of my mini guns these days, maybe I need to give them some more use🤔
    Thanks Pete👍

      Hi John, I've had this video for around 3 years. I never got round to putting it out, but I have recently done a video, not up yet, about air consumption on mini midi guns and the king of the show was the AZ4 1 caped gun, its so frugal and rather good.
      Give yours a try. It only needs 1 bar, anything more, and it flutters and isn't so good. Yes, it's slow but capable of a great finish. it's a shame the build quality isn't so good , cheers, buddy 👍

    • @JohnWD40TC02
      @JohnWD40TC02 5 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah I'm sure mine is the AZ4 1 as I remember asking you a long while ago saying it wasn't spraying properly and after you said it should be at 1 bar it was much better, don't think I've used it since then🙄😂

      @JohnWD40TC02 It has to be viewed as a good value for money gun, the fact, in AZ4 1 form, It's unbelievably small compressor friendly is something I had missed and is for me a real eye opener, until now I would have said the LPH80 couldn't be beaten but it can and was, very surprising, cheers mate 👍

    Pete I can’t wait for the air consumption comparison! I believe sprayguns direct just launched their midi- gun they co-developed with ANI. It seems they are trying to build the best combination of air consumption, budget, and finish. Hoping you can get your hands on one in the future.

      Hi Jordan, I think you mean the ANI Compact? , if so, then I've just got one.
      I was speaking with Sprayguns Direct before I purchased it just to get some background to what it was.
      I will get some videos out, but it won't be for a little while . Hopefully, I'll be seeing how the pattern size differs to the R160 in the smaller sizes to see what the bigger tips can do. Cheers, buddy 👍

    The 1.3 setup really is a fantastic midi gun for clear coat. 👍

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  5 месяцев назад

      Hi David, Yes, It's a good value for money gun, it's just let down by the rather poor materials used in its manufacturer.
      The digital Series2 Iwatas are also made in Italy and suffering quality issues in their finishing, so it sounds like a bit of a problem with the quality control.
      Cheers buddy 👍

    • @davidray4655

      @peteshobbies5383 other than a wider spray fan, does the series 2 clear gun spray it any better than the series 1 dialed in as you suggest? I can spray glass with mine, and the fan is plenty wide/tall for me. Thanks Pete

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  5 месяцев назад

      @davidray4655 The Series2 in the WS400 form is easier to set up. Most of the Series 1 guns in WS400 clear form, as you'll know, can be temperamental, so it needs the fan turned in, which obviously makes the fan smaller and wetter.
      So if people like a bigger fan and use a better quality clear, they will find the WS400 Series 2 better, I personally am happy using both and can get as good results with either but I can see why people often rate the Series2 higher, its just easier to use.
      I have a Series1 here that the V groves in the tip lines up perfectly, that sprays exactly the same as the Series2, I have another 2 here that don't line up so you have to turn the cap if you want a bigger less wet pattern.

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  5 месяцев назад

      I think you probably know, but the LS400 and WS400 OBS or Base as the series2 is called all spray the same as the Series1 as the tips are different and the pressure is lower, so other than wanting one, there's no reason to get a series2 over a series1

    • @davidray4655
      @davidray4655 5 месяцев назад +1

      @peteshobbies5383 yes, I've seen a couple of ws series 1 on ebay used with the tips line-up in the pictures, but I wasn't sure they just didn't loosen them up for the pics. Thanks Pete

      @peteshobbies5383 Hay I got both the 1.2 & 1.3 versions & I used the 1.0 before out of all of them the 1.2 is the best set up for that gun, ideal for motorcycles stuff & smart repairs out shines some of the more expensive guns

      @peteshobbies5383  5 месяцев назад

      @kingvtec100 I guess it depends on what you're doing. It seems you have both caps like me, and both are good in their own way's.
      I really like the bronze cap in 1.3 for clear coat. It can really put some material out and wets up nicely, what I am really surprised with on the black cap is how little air it uses, less than an LPH80 E4 which really surprised me, thanks buddy, appreciate the comments 👍

      @@peteshobbies5383 ok so a coworker wants his Harley bike painted. I've never done a bike and have no idea how much to quote him. It's going to be a color change. Satin purple finish from gloss black. How do I go about getting an estimate to him?

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  5 месяцев назад +1

      That's difficult, but you need to think of the amount of time it will take and charge accordingly.
      Only you know what you need per hour to cover your overheads and materials and obviously what's involved.
      The amount of detail on the panels, tank, etc, do they want decals and / or a design on the tank. Do they want them in paint or just vinyl decals.
      The thing to remember is that bike stuff is very time-consuming, and bike people are very, very fussy and notice the slightest defect.
      In the UK, the average price for a simple colour change on a medium-sized bike tank, without dents and simple vinyl decals, would be around 250 gbp to 300 gbp, so 300 to 350 USD, much more than that if there is lots to do with decals and preparation, that's only the tank, you will probably have a front fender/mudguard and rear and probably side panels as well, it's really difficult to say but rest assured, they are extremely time consuming.
