- borrowed this gun from a friend I thought it looked pretty cool, it looks very similar to the Devilbiss DV1 spray guns. it actually sprays pretty good.

One thing I really appreciate about your videos, you wear your PPE and do a voice over. Nice to see that. So many people feel like they have to give live commentary at the cost of their health.

Man i love all 3 Devilbiss DV1 guns . My dv1s mini 0.7mm for cerakote work, my dv1-b basecoat for base especially metallics. I really like the dv1-c clear gun. It is slow, you just got to slow down with it is all. I use the C1 cap and 1.2mm for high solids to break up the thicker high solids. I spray at 10psi with it and you slow down it will lay glass.
Glad you enjoy spraying with them. I can't slow down like that. I slowed down painting a car with the DV1 and I fell asleep. Owner came and woke me up while the gun was still spraying. 💀

I got one from amazon, i sprayed out a engine bay and came out alot better than i had expected, decided to spray out a whole entire front on a auction car i had for sale and came out great, for a garage man building cars and not looking for show car quality these guns are worth it at that price just cant justify 700+ for a OG dv1 that will sit in my drawer for months at a time
Man it's hard for me to justify the DV1 and I spray every day 😂 over rated gun. But that's good man glad it came out nice 🙌🏼

Nice job TriggerMan, I borrowed a NTools DV1 copy from a painter friend and have to say I was quite surprised how good it was it's defiantly faster than my genuine DV1 1.3 with the C1 cap but the finish from the NTools wasn't as good. I also borrowed a GTI ProLite copy which I didn't really like it was just nasty in every way and didn't spray right at all, I have the genuine GTI ProLite and with the 1.2 and the T110 aircap it will lay glass effortlessly👏👍John UK
Yeah John those copy cats aren't as good as the real thing but for the price 🤷🏽♂️😁 NTools is like a race car compared to the genuine DV1 😭

I'm telling you man If they had this guns around 25 years ago I would definitely be spraying with them I've spent so much damn money on spray guns got to be $15,000 or more and these little cheapy guns are doing the same thing. Even if they don't last as long so what buy another one $80
Nice!! I got a dv1 replica as well. I love mine, wide meaty fan. Sprays very evenly. Smacking clear at 18psi. Got it when it was $65. They just went up to $165. I still think it's worth it but I find very good guns under $70. Good vid brotha.

I've got one of these Trig and I run about 37 on the clear with the 1.3 it lays glass for me. I'm not sure what line size you use for your hose, I'm running a 3/8, I was thinking about stepping up to a 1/2" hose and dropping the pressure.
Overall I'm happy with this knock off, it has performed well for 3 years now with no issues thus far.

Granted I do treat that gun nicer than my others, I always clean it in solvent right away 😆. My other guns... Well... There is a reason I don't have high dollar spray guns 🤣

The DV1 clone has some seal issues in the trigger causing it to get stuck. Ive had 2 and my other coworker had 1 and all 3 had the same problem. Which is unfortunate cause it was a really good clear gun. Lays the clear on very nice, fine, and smooth. It was the only Ntools spray gun out of the 10 i have that has had any type of quality issues.

Thank you and that would be my guess as well. That's why I'm still spraying with the Vevor gun weekly it's been 3 months now so that will be a test. We all think that they won't hold up but no one's ever pushed one for a length of time to find out. 💪🏼
They have this with a digital gauge on the gun too, I haven't seen anyone with it yet but it's less than $100

I used the copy pro lite, I working very well, clear coat very good to, already 2 year, I bought about 65$

I have one of those and it realy dose do a fine job ! Need to spend a little more time with it but fir the price if you get two or three jobs out of it what makes the difference if you have to buy another one ?
You can get far more than 2 or 3 jobs out of it. This gun would last for years

What is the cfm on the DVI clone? Couldn't find all the specs on it. I have a Master Pro 44 Series from Amazon which sprays nice however it likes more air than my air compressor can handle. Is the DV1 an improvement?

Pretty slick Trigger. @25psi for clear, thats pretty good. May i ask how many turns out on fluid on that gun to get that result at 25psi.
I believe it was 2-2.5 turns out from closed. I was playing around with a different settings until I got it right but two to 2.5 was good

I spray with a DV1 WC2 cap 23psi .3 needle I feel I have to slow down and I use more material. How about you?
Yes Gary same here that's why I don't use that gun. I have it but I have to slow down. I fell asleep once painting a quarter panel 😴💤
Mr triggerman May I ask you why sometimes I see you Apply base coat wet and sometimes is like a Drop coat ? I'll de asking a lot since I watch a lot of painters on RUclips but with your real life knowledge your channel is on another level
Glad you can tell the difference. No movie theater work here. What that is correct when I start off I'm a little heavier with my coats I try to get most of my coverage and my first and second coat so by the time I'm ready for a third coat that's basically my drop coat to even out all of my metallics and focus on my blend areas.

How do you tell when the pressure is too high for basecoat?
You'll notice that the paint is feeling gritty at the end of each pass. Will feel and appear to be rough instead of smooth.

How does the DVR clone compare to the ani f160
I only shot that one job and gave it back but it did spray pretty good I'd say it sprayed equally as good. Not sure how long it would hold up against the F160 but it definitely sprays just as good. It's fast too which I like

I have to say it has the cleanest, most condensed pattern if any of my guns.
It laid down a charcoal silver base so smooth and even I didn't have to do a mist coat. And it laid down the clear like a firehose. I'm VERY impressed with it.
I'll paint my '78 corvette with it.
