Are you in the U.S.? I'm not familiar with that tax return, and I haven't heard of using your proadvisor info on taxes. You could double check with a tax preparer in your area to be sure, but I feel like the answer will be no.
Do you know anything about the QBCU certification? It is a test I can take through my college class but it costs extra. Didn't know if it was worth the $$ or if should i just study for the Proadvisor one.
I just completed the QuikBooks Online Accountant Training and am now studying QuickBooks Online to become a certified ProAdvisor. I am also studying Intuit's Certified Bookkeeper Professional Course on Coursera to get certified on this, too. I have my own Accounting Firm and am a Tax Preparer, too. I'm also studying for the IRS SEE exam to become a licensed Enrolled Agent. I'm kind of nervous about doing Bookkeeping right now because I am new to the field. I am a teacher and am doing my career switcher thing.

Just wanted to say thank you so very much for all of the great content and for sharing the discounts toward Margie's program. I saved $30 on the Basic and over $200 on the Advance. Now it's time to get to work and get these certifications.
Just wanted to keep you updated on my progress. I earned my certification for the Basic course (PAO) on the first try using Margie's program. I will wait until Dec 2022 to take the Advanced exam in order to allow QBO to publish its new updates for 2023.

Hmm, good question. That probably depends on your goals & personality. I was a bookkeeper for many years without Bookkeeper Launch (I took a community college course and was somewhat self-taught and got on-the-job experience). So, your education will already set you up in a big way. But, if you're looking for training that is all-encompassing and helps you start your business, learn QB, work with clients and has a community to ask questions (and email help) then you may want to invest in Bookkeeper Launch. Hi! There aren't rules about what education you need as a bookkeeper, so if you know what you're doing it's possible to get hired. Good day... I am in Canada and followed your instructions but the courses coming up are neither of these. The headings are Quickbooks Online Product Training - QuickBooks Desktop Migration - Introduction to QuickBooks Online Accountant - QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor Certification - QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor Advanced Certification ... Then it goes into "Specialty Courses". Do you know what is equivalent to what you are referring to?

Can you refer to training materials, the QB program itself on your computer, or other reference materials during the exam? I guess I am asking if it's open book.
When signing up for QBOA, can a personal email address be used and changed later or do you have to create a business email address? (same idea as your company name can be changed later)
It's easier if you have your business email address. You can change it later by calling Intuit, but not as easy to change as the company name. Good question!
I've been using QB Desktop since 2014, now have Accountant 2021 desktop. Do I have to pay for QBO if I just want ProAdvisor/ certification. I know I can "buy" QB Desktop certification which includes software AND an annual fee... what are my options so I'm not paying for something I already have? Thanks for your VERY informative videos!!
Great question! If you sign up for the Online Accountant version of QuickBooks, it's free for you. You would just pay for any clients you add to it. So no need to pay, we recommend you register your account and then you can take the ProAdvisor certification from there. -Gabe (FinePoints Admin)

I tried that but along with business name it asks what business type (llc, sole proprietorship etc) which I don’t have yet but if I select one it then asks for ein number and business address and stuff and won’t let me go forward. Good day... I am in Canada and followed your instructions but the courses coming up are neither of these. The headings are Quickbooks Online Product Training - QuickBooks Desktop Migration - Introduction to QuickBooks Online Accountant - QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor Certification - QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor Advanced Certification ... Then it goes into "Specialty Courses". Do you know what is equivalent to what you are referring to?

Does the accountant version of QB have an app? When logged into the app with my accountant log in, I don’t see an option for clients, etc like from the web browser. Im currently still doing training and don’t have an clients In my account. Thanks!!
I just signed up for QB Accountant and went to pro advisor and training…did 4 modules and stopped for a bit and can’t get back to where I left off. Do you know how to get back to the training?

Where do you go if you want to get certified with quickbooks desktop?
When signing up for QBOA, can a personal email address be used and changed later or do you have to create a business email address? (same idea as your company name can be changed later)
It's easier if you have your business email address. You can change it later by calling Intuit, but not as easy to change as the company name. Good question!

I've been using QB Desktop since 2014, now have Accountant 2021 desktop. Do I have to pay for QBO if I just want ProAdvisor/ certification. I know I can "buy" QB Desktop certification which includes software AND an annual fee... what are my options so I'm not paying for something I already have? Thanks for your VERY informative videos!!
Great question! If you sign up for the Online Accountant version of QuickBooks, it's free for you. You would just pay for any clients you add to it. So no need to pay, we recommend you register your account and then you can take the ProAdvisor certification from there. -Gabe (FinePoints Admin)

Hey! Yes, the ProAdvisor training and certification is still free. It will ask you for a business name when signing up for a QBO Accountant account, you can put in your name or a potential business name and change it in the future when you have this piece figured out.

I tried that but along with business name it asks what business type (llc, sole proprietorship etc) which I don’t have yet but if I select one it then asks for ein number and business address and stuff and won’t let me go forward. I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong.
Do you know: Is it okay to use the same Intuit account I use for my taxes or should I start a separate account for training purposes?

Hi Angela! QBO recently redid their ProAdvisor modules and certification so it will look a little different from when Morgan posted this video. Morgan is in the process of creating an updated video for the new ProAdvisor certification.

Hey! Setting up a QB Accountant account is free and you will also receive a free QBO account with it. Your clients will need to buy subscriptions to QBO and you can link them to your QB Accountant account.
