Thanks for the video Morgan! I wanted to share that Cone offers a Proposal and Billing Software that's really straightforward which could be helpful to others. It lets you set prices based on multiple factors such as the number of transactions and the frequency of reconciliation etc. It does have bookkeeping templates and is quite affordable at $8 per month.
Thanks for this video, I'm just starting out with my book keeper business and was so worried that a contract would be a very challenging thing to do. But video helped tremendously. I now have more confidence to create one myself.
I am very new to this so I am no expert, but in terms of the bookkeeper owning the QBO file, here is what the Internet said: "Retention of Client’s Records. A licensee (accountant or bookkeeper), after demand by or on behalf of a client, for books, records or other data, whether in written or machine sensible form (electronic format used on a computer), that are the client’s records shall not retain such records. Unpaid fees do not constitute justification for retention of client records. Although, in general the accountant’s working papers are the property of the licensee, if such working papers include records which would ordinarily constitute part of the client’s books and records and are not otherwise available to the client, then the information on those working papers must be treated the same as if it were part of the client’s books and records."
You were talking a kind of insurance. What type of insurance is good for bookkeeping business. Please try answer this question for me. Thank you for your excellent presentation.
Rocket Lawyer is really good. There is a monthly fee, but if you cancel you often get a reduced monthly amount. I pay $1 right now. If you use it a bunch you will get the higher monthly fee. But they are good at refunding too. I used it for a business contract, my living trust, poa's etc.
Good afternoon! Thanks for the video. I signed up on Hellosign, but didnt find the same page when I signed up. Wasn't able either to find templates. Do we need to pay monthly to have a contract template or a legal letter? Thank you!
When is the best time to present the client with a contract if you are starting out doing hourly for a few months, and then plan to offer them a monthly set-rate package after you get familiar with their books? Would you do an initial contract, and then sign another one to include the new set rate after that trial period?
What other questions do you have about contracts for bookkeepers?

Quite an insightful video. Do you know how remote accountants outside the US can engage clients Stateside?

I have been told errors and omissions and cyber security policies are good to have with bookkeeping businesses :)

Check out Cone - proposal and engagement letter software. They have a contract template too.

Good question, yes, that's how I would do it!
Hey Morgan....idk if you wouldve fixed it by now but I wanted to point out that in ur agreement you skipped #12. There's no #12.
Seen at 8:18.
What/which is this QB Accountant version that you keep on mentioning that’s free? All of the packages I see costs money.
Google QBO accountant
Does Bookkeeper launch allow you to use their templates right away or do you have to complete the training first? I have to submit a bid
You can get BL's sample right after you purchase the program.
Do you have a recommendation for e&o?
Where's 12?
How do I know what to charge (fees)
