I thought my new Mavic Air 2 was much quieter than the Mini. I guess the frequency plays a larger role to the perception of noise than the sound pressure. A lower pitch is preferable.
Agreed. The higher pitch is whats really annoying. Like my Air 1.
These test are really difficult to perform, but but mini is higher pitched
Air 2 sounds a lot quieter and less intimidating than Mini to me as well.
My thoughts precisely. I have only been around a mini twice but it has a higher pitch and that makes it more noticeable and I guess more annoying for most people. And animals perhaps.
Mini 2 is even quieter.. it is around 64 dB close by and 50-51 10 m away.
Mavic air 2 is a great drone but it would definitely attract much more people attantion.
I've watched a number of your videos lately, and, I've been flying DJI since the Spark and the Mavic Air and, now, the Mavic Air 2.

Great video. Love your happy style. Any chance of doing a video on mavic air 2 and camera settings? I’m confused about jpeg and jpeg/raw. Not sure what setting i need. Also best settings on the transmission screen would be good. Keep up the good work🙂👍🏻

I agree, MA2 sounds the best. i have a mini and an MA2. Mini is too "angry bees" for me.
3dB is a big difference. Since it's on a logarithmic scale, that is actually DOUBLE the sound energy.

I agree that Mavic Air 2 sound quality is the best out of the three. Mavic Mini is a great drone for what it is. The only reason I've also bought a Mavic Air 2 was due to Ocusync 2.0

Great sound comparison! Good to see that the sound level in dB(A) is not the criteria of feeling uncomfortable in the near of a drone. It is clearly the frequency area, higher frequencies are remember the peoples on a dentist I think...;-)) Cheers DrDuu
It's interesting to see that at 1-2 meters the Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic Air 2 are pretty much the same but at 10 meters the difference is 4 dBA. I would have expected them to be the same due to the inverse square law.
Anyway, it would have been interesting to see how high they would go before the noise they produce basically becomes part of the background noise
Hi! can you do these tests also for dji Mini 2 & Mavc Air ?
I got a Air 2S this summer. Its a lot "nosier" than my old Mavic Pro. But none of them are quiet and very noticeable when flying nearby.
Video Also showed the stability differences. Mini was all over.

4:30: This happens when you don't let the drone have enough time to catch satellite signal (notice the red satellite icon). After your drone and RC were on, leave them for about 1 minute until they get satellite signal then you can take-off precisely, without the drone drifting away.

Thank you for the test! very informative. Wonder if you also has the noise result for Inspire. Yesterday I heard buzz from top sky and there was a inspire flying slowly about 50 meters above. The noise was very noticeable. Just want a drone that can fly without brother other people.

What a wonderful demonstration! Keep it up. Just want to have an advise. I am after with a longer distance flight with less interference. And wind resistance. Because i am surrounded by houses with a lots of wifi’s my mini sometimes gets lost of signal from the remote all the time. Thinking of an upgrade from my mini. Which one is better for me? The Air 2 or the Mavic pro zoom? Thanks in advance for your tips.

I thought there is any mistakes in your noise table. May Air 2 lower than M2 pro.
Its less about volume and more about pitch.

Thanks for the sub! You can't at the moment, you might be able to do it a 3rd part app that will allow to capture the screen.

If Mavic Mini is 3 dBA lower than the other 2 drones then it should sound only half as noisy.

Hi I really love your videos you are such an amazing guy :) .. I have a question but dont laugh at me I just get my mavic mini and Its my first drone and I dont have experience and I didn't fully understand the fly zones .. for example can I fly in the green zone ?- I think its nature area-? and what if the zone has two colours green and blue together like ( christiansø bornholm)?
And what the highest limit 100 or 120m?

Thanks, it’s 100m outside the city and 120m inside the city with a certificate (dronebevis) green zones are BL7-15 and you can’t fly here with permission, same goes for the blue ones
@@TECHDRONEMEDIA thanks for your reply, but it is written on BL 7-15 that flying over a nature zone should be over 300 m except when taking off or landing.
Do these rules apply for mavic mini? Is it necessary to get a dronebevis if you are only using it as a hobby ?
Henrik - have you found the setting to make camera gimbal smoothness/speed slower? like on the mavic mini.

sorry but you are measuring too much windpressure, please do this test again in a closed room :) When flying with friends my M2P is always to drone that is called the "most silent" compared to anafi, Mavic Pro and Mavic Mini 1
Not that I disagree, but what you are hearing is wind pressure, but off course the base level is higher if it was in a controlled environment
My friend bought a Mavic Air 2 and I brought my Spark. Now my friend is new to drones and he couldn't tell that one was louder than the other. I think drone pilots are just really anal about the noise levels.
Agree, this is difficult and more a matter of the "flavour"

I love your videos but your audio is horrible. There is no treble in your voice, just all mid range sound. You sound like your talking into a pillow or you're in the next room over with the door closed. I have to turn the sound very loud to understand you and then I get that look from my wife like "another drone video". I give your audio two thumbs down. 😁 Keep making videos.
xplmr1 I need to understand audio better as this was directly out of my zoom h1n sound recorder no post processing.
