What a ridiculous way to test it while holding the tripod in one hand and bungling and tripping and waddling thru. For a professional YTber.....this is silly. It resulted in a shoddy test.
So in your opinion, testing the capabilities of ActiveTrack, via an object which is shifting, changing, wobbling and moving all over the place, is not a good test? You're displaying a real lack of understanding here buddy...
@@Droning-ON Your welcome....Sure let them get at least a chuckle.....it would be a saving grace after seeing you move with so much difficulty and do a walk test like this. Why you could have just as easily worn a gopro on your chest or on your head and shot this by moving faster and with large proper movements like a real walk. Instead of going few feet and stopping...few feet and stopping (bec your juggling a tripod with all its legs opened) its not even a proper test. Ive been flying drones for 5 years now. Im sure you mustve been flying them for 10 years or so ? You should surely outdo me.

This was a great test! I almost forgot the wind as a factor during the test in the forest and was in awe then. But when you take that into consideration as well it's really impressive! 😃👍👍

The Mavic Air2 is a serious bee schredder! As i did my own Activ Track Testing on Sunday it´s sound made a swarm of bees really mad! They followed my Air 2 for quite a while even in sport mode and it required a real externsive cleaning to get it free of all the bee goo, honey, bee debries of my drone. Never had this with another drone so i guess the sound of the Air2 must be like a attacking swarm to those bees....
@Pine Nut actually they killed themselfs... Kamikaze Pilots those are... have been in open sky 20 Meters above the fields 50meters away from any bush or tree or any flower...no Idea where they actually came from :-(

Another cracking video, my flymore arrives between 15.45 and 16.45 today here in the UK, I will be home by 7pm, can't wait to get all 3 batteries on charge, going to bang them all on the charging dock, and hope for no problems! Can't wait for the firmware update for the smart controller, then we can put the misgivings about the controller to rest !
I can’t wait to see the Mavic 3 Pro unleash the true power of active track 3! Once they apply this technology to a whole slew of sensors, we will be nearing true un-crashability!

Very nice test of active track capabilities of MA2. I wasn´t sure about doing this type of videos with mine, so next step is to fly my drone in a forest close to my place, which is not as windy as there, and without many trees, so I think it's going to be ok. Best regards from Argentina!

Does Active Track work no matter how how you start it out? In other words, if you start it out at just a few feet above you will it follow and stay a few feet above you? And what about filming You from the front as you walk, will it back up and film you from the front the whole time you are moving about? Have only had my Air 2 for a month and we've had a bit of rain here, but when I tried right off to use these tracking modes I wanted to see if it would follow my car as I drive it and it would not move at all. But when I had it track me like you did here by just walking about the property at my home it did follow me. I set it up the same way and then drove off with the drone about a few feet or more higher than my car and it would not move at all. I might sell the Air 2 and get a Skydio 2 in the spring....
Great video. I cannot see active track on my app for Air 2 ..... I have it in normal mode and when even switching to Tri-Pod mode, still do not see APAS. Help as I am a newbie

I only ask because on my mini I didn’t do it but I had a failed launch the other day when the Air 2 flipped over on launch. Not sure, we suspect that the Mavic 2 is at the limits of it's processing power, but we'll see what DJI has in store for future firmware upgrades! Thanks for the comment!
Curious if it would have still hesitated if you didn't have the tripod and DSLR in your hand. When it got hung up, it looked like most of the time your whole silhouette was behind the tripod. If you can't see yourself, no reason to expect the Mavic to have been able to see you.
It does indeed hesitate when you stop moving, however when you pickup pace it moves faster and has more chance of hitting things! Thanks for the comment!
Like you said with the skydio 2 you dont have to look if the drone gonna hit a tree or something. The dji does a ok job but thats because of no side camera's
Good job👍. But this happened when you move slowly and carefully to the drone. I don't think the same will happen if you just run without looking behind you.

I think the impressive thing is, that we won't be in a forest all the time when we use the Tracking and so it will be just fine anywhere else...

Thanks for the comment, watch the video during setup and you should see, you need to enable 'Intelligent Flight Modes' first in the settings menu.

You have to spread the propellers on the MA2, theyre a little tight. I did it with my mini too though the propellers were more loose.

Not sure, we suspect that the Mavic 2 is at the limits of it's processing power, but we'll see what DJI has in store for future firmware upgrades! Thanks for the comment!

Curious if it would have still hesitated if you didn't have the tripod and DSLR in your hand. When it got hung up, it looked like most of the time your whole silhouette was behind the tripod. If you can't see yourself, no reason to expect the Mavic to have been able to see you.
It does indeed hesitate when you stop moving, however when you pickup pace it moves faster and has more chance of hitting things! Thanks for the comment!

Like you said with the skydio 2 you dont have to look if the drone gonna hit a tree or something. The dji does a ok job but thats because of no side camera's
