Frank's old VHS lesson tapes from REH was where I learned sweep picking.
He has such an awesome, unique, and fluid style especially with how smoothly he transitions into alternate/economy picked lines. Frank is the master.

Historically, bebop players and composers like Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie realized that because nobody is legally able to copyright a chord progression, they wrote new melodies over pre-existing chord progressions. Frank is brilliantly keeping this legacy alive here . This is awesome! Thanks for sharing nick.
And btw, writing a new melody over a preexisting chord progression is a tradition that goes back to the baroque Era. Another striking similarity between Bach and Charlie Parker. Music is evolutionary.

I listen to the song "The Big Wave" by Tribal Tech almost everyday and I think that the guitar work on that song makes Henderson to be on league of his own. When I referred to Gambale that way I really meant in my humble opinion... but maybe I got too excited haha....Holdsworth was an alien that came to Earth and picked a guitar ...which means he was on a league of his own as well. If we take a look at all three, they are simply the best in their own styles! Thanks for your comment, blessings and peace!

Next level musicality and cheeky effrontery. These cats could shred changes for the galaxy, but you don't need me to tell you that. What might be news- I know it was to me- is that Jerome Kern would have hated it: apparently he took a dim view of all those damn jazzbos taking liberties with his tunes. Well, sucko, Jerry: these here liberties sound just fine to me.
