    Nudelaufauf was my favorite growing up. We always had smoked ham at Easter and the leftovers were amazing❤. I like roasted vegetables (cubed courgette, patty pans, aubergine, bell peppers, tomatoes onions) marinara sauce, pasta and cheese usually a sharp cheddar and parmesan, bake it until bubbly and browned.

    The last one reminds me of enchiladas. It uses tortillas to wrap and enchilada sauce. It's one of our family favorites. It can be filled with other kinds of meat too

    Good job coming up with another way to eat Brussell sprouts. We usually just try to smother them with melted cheddar cheese here in Wisconsin. Of course, we do that with a lot of stuff. I don't know if I have a favorite casserole, but I'm eating a pizza with bacon, cream cheese, and jalapeños right now, I think these ingredients would make a good casserole.

    Now it's gray autumn in Germany - time for a Brussels sprouts casserole, with smoked bacon of course. Or a sauerkraut casserole with ribs and smoked mead ends.

    The nudelauflauf (I like saying this work 😂) is something I would be more inclined to do only bc it’s so easy to make, just add all ingredients and it’s ready to go in the oven, it sure is a one pot dish 😊. My fave casserole is breakfast sausage casserole 😋 stay well and healthy too

    Those all looked delicious - especially the first one - I love brussels sprouts ♥️ In British English they would usually be called "bakes", not casseroles. Casseroles are more like stews cooked in the oven, rather than on the stove top (though I believe Americans use the word differently 😊)

    baked mac-n-cheese! I really am going to try the first one for sure. If you love Mac-n-Cheese with bacon and a little kick with some dieced green chilis (canned).....head over to Kent Rollin's youtube channel, he has a really great Mac-n-Cheese recipe. The first casserole reminds me of one my Nana used to make when I was a kid- only with cabbage instead.

    • @cooking-the-world
      @cooking-the-world  8 месяцев назад

      Oh thanks for the tip! By green chillis you meat jalapenos, right?

    • @StormLaker
      @StormLaker 8 месяцев назад

      Not jalepenos, but a different type of chili pepper- where I live we use canned diced green chilis (found in the Hispanic section at the store). I like to order Hatch Chilis from New Mexico and use those, roast them, and freeze them for the winter ffor recipes....but the canned chilis are just as good. I use extra hot, but the stores usually just sell the mild ones in the can, lol. @@cooking-the-world

    Would you be able to replace the cheese in the second recipe with cream cheese?

      You will have to experiment with this. I am pretty sure that it will work, but the consistency will be a bit different.

    The potato and sprout recipie look gorgeous. More veg as a side, and that would be 10/10. The pasta dish....oh my! How awesome did that look. Lovely.
    When do we get invited round to try them? 🙂
