- 1989 was the introduction to the Lego Pirates theme and with it came the imperials. The Blue Coats and Red Coats were replaced with the Imperial armada which were soldiers based off of Spanish Conquistadors.

Don Juan DeMented for the win
Solid choice!!!
Yessir
I like the name option of "Don Diego DeLego"
Oh, in an American accent, they RHYME! That's so cool!
It’s such a shame, they never got any larger bases. What I do like about them however is the fact, that their small flag isn’t a printed one like the other factions, but one red and one yellow flag stacked on top of each other. While this may seem a bit cheap, it reflects the actual Spanish flag and also is a cool deviation from the norm
I think admiral name should be pedro Lego De cruze aviso De Sainte canone sao tomme della rumbergo tergandira
This series is amazing! By the way it is pronounced Arrr-Ma-duh, not uhm-arrr-duh
I really hope El Dorado remake is successful enough we get a re release of any of the absolutely beautiful imperial ships (any of the three factions really). This was a cool faction due to how colorful it was compared to the other Imperials, way too short lived.
Me to would be great to see them come back! We shall see how that set does though!
This waves of imperials and pirates with the better torso prints and faces were really good. Even though they cut the Imperial Armada faction a bit short, at least they didn't skimp on the parts in the sets like they started doing with Castle a bit later. If they had done a full wave of Aramada with a bigger fortress and stuff, it would have been pretty cool.
Oh for sure! Pirates definitely had a good end to it!
one that is more portuguese would be Francisco de Almeida so a lego version could be ,Francisco de lego, Francisco de columbia or Francisco de Barcelo
The ship is called the LA Santa Cruz from 1521 - 1609. The ship was sunk by getting shot seventeen time's Captain Santa Cruz was shot in the face, back and stabed in the chest with a sword and slain.
Gotta be don Diego delego for me. It’s a shame they were so short lived. I wish pirates would come back especially with the imperial armada they seem so unique compared to the red coats and blue coats
If you want a return to the Armada, you're going to have to wait until the Redcoats get their turn again, lol.
Nice video, either way. The Imperial Factions have always been my favourites, and I never knew much about the Armada. It always irked me how Lego tried portraying them as the bad guys, so for the Admiral to be a nicer guy is a good change of pace.
Yeah the admiral is pretty cool!
Ok, one correction. The Armada Flagship is not a schooner. LEGO didn't accurately follow naming conventions for the ships in the Pirate theme. The Armada Flagship is, in fact, a Yawl with a square-rigged main mast and an odd version of a lug-rigged mizzen.
For reference:
Black Seas Barracuda: Brig
Caribbean Clipper: Ketch, but the mizzen lacks a sail for some reason.
Skull's Eye Schooner: Barque, with that weird lug-rigged mizzen mast.
Renegade Runner: Sloop
Imperial Flagship (classic): Sloop
Imperial Trading Post Ship: Sloop
Red Beard Runner: Brig (with awkwardly tall masts)
Cross Bone Clipper: Sloop
Armada Flagship: Yawl
Brickbeard's Bounty: Brig
Imperial Flagship (2010): Full Rigged Ship
LEGO Queen Ann's Revenge: Barque
LEGO Black Pearl: Barque
The Brick Bounty: Brig
Black Seas Barracuda (Pirates of Barracuda Bay): Brig
El Dorado Fortress (Icons) Ship: Sloop
Creator 3-in-1 Pirate Ship: Brig
I noticed the name Eldorado is used for many places in real life.
It was also the name of the fictional Tobacco company in the early seasons of Family Guy 😂
It's a bit sad that the Admiral is friends with the islanders considering that Spain did the most atrocities towards south american natives
Love these vids! Just a heads up though, it's Armada, not Amarda.
I remember that I got this faction ship when I made 8 years old (as a Birthday gift from my aunt) and the chromed breastplate that I got on that ship is one of my most treasured and important LEGO parts. It was lost for almost a decade and when I found it, it was an amazing day for me!
My favourite faction, i love their morion helmets
They are so unique and cool!
Another great video. Honestly though I feel like the armada’s potential was squandered😢. Hope they come back tho
Right! Like they could have built out the faction at least with a few more sets. Like we could have gotten another land base or a big fort for them!
Remake would be awesome
I vote for Sir Sailalot
Great video
Solid Choice!
I think that his name is Don Diego De Lego
don diego de lego!
Don Diego De Lego is the best name for the admiral 😂
😂
Ah yes, a quiet evening and a good old Harbor Master. The perfect night!
Sounds like a great evening!
The Admiral of the Spanish Armada Should be Called Ponce De León
Oh that’s a good one!
hear me out, Ponce De Lego. Armada is cool unlike real conquistador
I'm calling now LEGOnardo de castilla
Love it!
His name should be Don Jose de Lego
Another very informative video
Glad you enjoyed it. I'm guessing you are now looking for those imperial armada sets after this video lol
@@BrickingUpBrad wow how well you know me
Wait..
It says a min ago???
@@kimberlyriley8716 members get videos a few days early!
W vid and thanks for the name of those green doors! BRICKLINK!!! lol (pa unitron????????) (mtron??????) pls unitron lol
Some day! I got a lot in the works right now!
oh i can only imagine!! lol great vid
The armada flagship was an embarrassing ship to the Spanish armada yet they always put more into the pirate ships lol I hope they upgrade the flagship to an ACTUAL GALLION with least 3 more members of the imperial Armada with new prints of there outfits I have a small group of the armada collection from the swashbuckler and the Golden Conquistador I need more of those guys with the white shirts with the green vest from the figure in Redbeard runner bout 20 for my rifle crew and 20 of the swashbucklers for the sailors then the figure from king Leo's Castle with the printed base plate for the fully armed imperial guard I really hope that they come back in full force the imperial guards and the armada are my most favorite
I agree about the flagship. But all the imperials had just awful ships to the 2009 redcoats.
@@BrickingUpBrad eh the newest imperial redcoats flagship was a better improvement with the cell on one side and kitchen and what every ship shuld have came with least was a cabin for the admiral or captain still I love the design but always something to complain and that's the sails I wish they used the imperial guards symbol one two of the sails and Or kinda shape them better to be better or something they look like they was just drawn and cut our in a hurry but still a nice ship
Christopher LEGO Columbus say what 🤔. I had no idea the armada flagship was also called the Santa Cruz. I bet there’s MOC builders out there who’ve made armada ships based upon the Santiago
Name suggestion: Fernando Almirante de la Mar. It would be ironic because nobody knows his name, but in fact his name actually is admiral
What a great series! Your intro and outro are just spectacular!
Appreciate it!
3:18 Interesting that his back story is he was raised by islanders when the islanders had been retired. Also very dark that his parents tried to murder him by exposure.
these guys had a huge shot with brickhammer but lego refused, as a kid who was on a tight budget and no pirates themes around at the time, the armada can be awsome as a creator or new line of smaller sets. the french and brits tire me out now and the armada are small enough to look like a new faction all original. but the spainsh being friendly to the islanders better be changed
Brad i have a question ( anyone can reply there favorite too) which faction is your favorite? The redcoats, the bluecoats, or the armada?
Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition
😂😂😂
@@BrickingUpBrad thank you
Another very important video
Thank you!
🔥
As much as I’d love a lego castle or pirates remake I’m afraid they will never come back…
You just got to believe hard enough lol
Love your videos bro. Great stories. 😊
Appreciate! Got a lot more to come!
@@BrickingUpBrad
Can't wait to watch. I think I have an unhealthy fascination with Lego Castles and Pirates 😅😅😅
I always thought these dudes were French...
I think the name of the admiral better is that bob lord admiral
I am Spanish listen we want Cristobal colon

HI
Really enjoying this series. Great video!
Glad to hear it! Which imperial faction has been your favorite?
@@BrickingUpBrad Good question! I guess the Imperial Guards were, mainly because of the sets they came in. Also, the figs were kinda versatile. In their tricorns they still make nice 18th century / Revolutionary War redcoats, and if you put them in pith helmets they make nice 19th century British soldiers / riflemen. This video has me interested in collecting some Imperial Armada sets, though! Thanks!
Hello
It hello man
Don Diego De San Juan
Don Diego de Lego is 👍
Don Diego De Lego
Cristobal colon
Hernando
Don Juan DeMented for sure!
Right! Solid name
Why don't you do the islanders
At some point I plan to but I have way too much many other videos I want to do first
Also of note: in Lego Racers, the Admiral has the wrong torso. He has the coat that the random Armada guys have.
That is true!
The admirals name should be Eric
Simple I love it😂
Admirals name is legy McLegoface
Armady McArmadaface
😂
I really want pirates lego back! and I want loads of the imperials (red, blue and armada) figures
