Let’s get more LEGO Pirates lore for sure, I grew up with the red coats in 2008/2009/2010
I am planning on diving into all the lore but next Friday will be red coats!
@@BrickingUpBradcan you do the western USA cavalry soldiers I loved them
@@zacharyknight3012 I have the ones from the lone rangers!
@@BrickingUpBrad I do too I also have the originals, love that you're turning toys into deep lore that could rival video games
My long, long relatives grew up with the redcoats in the 1770’s
In my personal head canon, the blue coats are the moderner version of the black falcons and the redcoats are the moderner version of the lion knights. It's a cool way to tie together the different themes.
Black Falcons -> Blue Coats -> Blacktron
Crusaders -> Red Coats -> Mtron
@@hanzocloud Forestmen --> PIrates --> Futron. All use different coloured out fits.
I think Bricking up Brad can use this cross theme idea for a future lore video!
Moderner 💀
I love this headcanon!
I was about to say that.
Holy cow, Brad! I think this might be one of the most well researched deep dives into lego lore I’ve ever seen! Genuinely, the care you put into exporting not only sets and comics, but audio dramas and video games. So glad this channel is starting to pick up speed, but it’s still underrated as hell in my book. Hope your adventures fare well!
You are to kind!
I do agree I think this is definitely my best work! I feel like I finally found my groove with this one! Definitely still more I want to work on to improve for sure, but what’s the fun in life if you do not grow and learn!😂
I really like the continuity for the pirates era. We start off with French and then it's slowly moves to the British taking control just like in real life and then we later move into the cowboy era with the United States colonial militia
If that were the case, where are the spanish? Lego chose red and blue not to signify two different kinds of colonial power, but garrison troops and marines of the same colonial power.
Man... I love this channel. Hope your sub count goes crazy with all the new content you keep doing.
I know it's blasphemy, but I was never a big fan of the non-boat pirates and imperial sets. I really love the new barracuda bay, el dorado, and 3 in 1 sets. They've completely revitalized my love for the theme.
I appreciate it! I’m glad people enjoy the subjects I do videos on!
Honestly I get it though. Some of the bone ship based sets are trash 😂 but there are some really cool ones!
Yes!!! Those sets are great! They definitely did the same for me! Which one of the new ones is your favorite?
@@BrickingUpBrad That's a hard choice. Barracuda Bay gives us the amazing ship build, but the modularity of El Dorado makes it one of the best playsets Lego has ever produced.
I think I have to give the nod to barracuda, even in the shipwrecked island mode it's simply gorgeous. I think it's overall just more detailed and accessorized.
i always liked to think that the Blue Coats were the succesors of the Black Falcons and the Red Coats the succesors of the Crusaders
Black Falcons -> Blue Coats -> Blacktron
Crusaders -> Red Coats -> Mtron
@@hanzocloud yeah, something like that
Wait, the bluecoats were supposed to be the good guys? As a small kid they were the baddies whenever I played, when growing up it became a bit less black and white and they just worked for an evil boss (a bit like zorro), and even later I started to write fanfiction where the pirates were rebels against the empire (I guess starwars started to influence me there). I also sometimes switched the hats of the privates and lieutenants to promote them to corporal and captain
He is Governor Louis De Bourbon. He was killed by getting a shot to the face at point blank range and his ship the La Pensacola de Paris 1655 - 1692 was sunk the day after
Bro the nastalgia I got from just looking at the 2015 pirate sets.
Right😂😂
The blue coats are the French
The red coats are the British.
I have both, I recreated the French and Indian war
Awesome video ! Felt like I was watching a movie and history lesson all at once. Music selection and narration was brilliant ! Nice job 👍🏼! Never knew there was so much backstory 🧐🤯😳
Sabre island my first lego back in 1991.
The Carebian clipper is called in Germany the Gouverneurs cog.
your content only gets better! great work!
I appreciate it!
Hi,any chance you can make a content about the seemingly forgotten theme of LEGO Samurai and Ninja in the latter half of the 90's? They were massively underrated and as far as I know, it was a Castle Sub-theme.
It is a theme I plan on doing. My goal is to do every Lego theme. And yes it is a Lego castle sub theme. It is definitely on my list but I have a lot of videos to make before then!
@@BrickingUpBrad I did have some sets from that theme but I am planning to sell in order to limit my themes.
The amount of lore there is insanity itself! Probably more than any other Lego theme ever. Keep 'em coming!
I love listening to all the old and new Lego lore from the older themes and a couple years ago I got barracuda bay. I then found a bunch of really old blue coat Minifigures from when my mum and uncle were kids and I can’t wait to get el dorado fortress. Thanks for learning the lore and sharing it with us!
Blue Coats ARE FRENCH NAVY, RedCoats are ENGLISH NAVY
Amazing job Brad! And yea they do need to upgrade their ships 😅 (another imperial flagship style build Lego 🙏 🙏)
Right!!! Like we need a new crazy big Imperial ship lol
welll i dont wanna compain but the old red/blue jackets have way better blue white in them, then the new one blue jackets... I know they added some detail but seriously that shouldnt affect as badly the white stripes.
Do you think the Blue Coats will appear on Bricks and Pieces? I really want a small army of them. Can’t wait for your next video!!
I hope so but we won’t know for like 6 months or so.
This might be your best intro to a video series yet
I just picked up a bulk box of used Lego a couple days ago of lego, and after watching this video I realize that set 6245 is in it! It's the sole pirate set in the box
That’s sick!
Awesome job matey, looking forward to more videos in this series
Glad to hear it!
Excellent breakdown! It is awesome to hear about classic lego themes! I am excited for more!
Thank you! Should be more soon!
Awesome video! As a new fan to lego pirates, can you make a video going over all of the different Blue coat minifigs?
I definitely will try to do one at some point . But it will probably be about every type of imperial soldier.
@BrickingUpBrad that would be awesome! I am a Star Wars fan, but I have always been interested in pirates. I picked up the bew Eldorado fortress, and now I am on a hunt to build up my blue coats.
@cameronklein7980 oh for sure! I would say wait till they come on bricks and peices if they do that!
@@cameronklein7980 I can't ever seem to link stuff in the comments, but there are at least two places that make REALLY nice, laser-cut, vinyl torso stickers! Brickstickershop has gorgeous Bluecoat and Redcoat torsos! You can make all the soldiers you like! Sparestickers makes beautiful cloth sails, though I'm not seeing a wide variety. There are lots of sites that have templates and fabric recommendations to cut your own though!
9:57 Hey I am Saul Goodman, do you know you have rights?
Great video, I'm really excited for the el Dorado review
I will hopefully be getting that’s started soon!
Hey Brad is there any cool medieval bandit set or figures that you could recommend?
I love LEGO lore. Especially from the themes from before I was born; slightly-younger me was an idiot missing out on the 2010's era Pirates and Castle reboots.
Good video.
Slight Mispronunciation on 'La Sabatina' ; since there's no virgulilla (~ wave tilde) over the ñ it's pronounced as a regular n.
Ahh that is my bad! I kinda suck when it comes to that stuff😂 I google every word that i usually don’t understand but still mess up a few here and there.
@@BrickingUpBrad No problem, we all make mistakes :)
I´ll have to check if I still got that pirates cartoon. Interestingly, while me and my buddy with whom I mostly played LEGO were rooting for the "good" Crusaders in the castle world it wasn´t that easy with the pirates theme. The pirates were just too cool (which admittedly could have also been said about the Black Falcons). Nevertheless, he had the Carribean Clipper and I had the Black Seas Barracuda which came in handy for canon battles. 😁
Fantastic. Lots to learn in this video!
The French
thats the flag quebec
Amazing work, great video.
Appreciate it!
the ending!! wow i never new like any of that lol can’t wait for the red coats vid!!
Right!!! Pirates lore is crazy! I didn’t know a thing about any of it till I researched as much as I could!
frrr
The British navel officers had blue uniforms, while the british army wore red. I always assumed lego was trying that
yo ho ho! this is awesome!
Glad to hear it!
Does anyone know how rare are the bluecoats with the red epollettes and tricorn hats?
Edit: love your video didn't know lego sets had lore
Thats sailor
@@bluearmyspidey6283 thanks i was wondering
8:59 My exact thoughts lmaooo.
Keep up the lore I really like it!
Right😂😂 like they look basically the same
The bluecoat Soldiers look like US Marines in the mid of 19th Century
No imperial flagship mention?
Watch my red coats video for that: ruclips.net/video/YKRD8tJmhgs/видео.html
Those who dont blonde girl and red shirt thats elizabeth swann :)
Amazing work Brad!!
Thanks for the help on this as always!
Fantastic work, Brad! Excellent content. Very well-researched!
It might be worth noting that the Caribbean Clipper / Seahawk looks really nice with one or two (or even three!) more center sections. One would be pretty simple to slip in and maybe add rigging and sails to the rear mast. That would make it the same size as the Redbeard Runner. Two would make is as big as the Barracuda or the Schooner, and it'd definitely need sails on the rear mast. Three would make it as big as the 2010 Imperial Flagship! Though not as tall, it would definitely need a third mast added. Maybe you can review some of the replacement sails available some time.
Really great video. Thanks, I enjoyed it! I even let the commercials run for ya 🤑
That’s is a really good point about adding more sections! Definitely would be the smart thing to do!
I appreciate the support, I put a lot of work into the research so I’m glad it’s appreciated, and suffering through all the commercials😂.
Good video
Thank you!
You are one of my favorite RUclipsrs
Interesting evolution!
For sure! They definitely changed over the years!
Awesome video
Thank you!
Yay I own tons of blue code stuff I have the og governor broadside but missing the hat
That’s awesome!! The og governor is awesome!
I always thought it was obvious lol- Red colonialists - British; Blue Colonialists- French.
Amazing transition at the end
Thank you!!! Not going to lie I am very proud of that😂 I sat there for like 30 minutes trying to get the timing of it right😂
Blue coats 🔛🔝
Your content is so good, I am so sad you are posting shorts which prevents me from subscribing, but I will try to search for you once a week
Every Friday I post long form and then stream two other days and then post shorts two other days. Still looking in a schedule!
This is a great video I love it I hope you do more videos like this
Already have my next one for the red coats in the works! Recorded it today!
Cool can't wait
MAN! I love those old imperial buildings. I have 6076, 6067, 6065 and ship 6074. Believe me they looks excellent together 🤩 Still thinking about buying new Eldorado but too many women and too expensive . Maybe there will be some promo in near future?
Definitely should be some good promos later this year!
00:12 - I spotted the "Big Island" of Hawaii thrice! Did... did I win?😃

Huzzah! ❤ Awesome Brad!
Thanks glad you enjoyed it!
i loved the audio stories as a kid :)
They are great!
Blue Coats are a classic lego figures.
Amazing video
want the shirt!!
Link to it in the description!
The blue coats were my favorite pirates faction until you said they were based off the French.
i dont like the art style of those comic books at all, why did they affiliate it with lego if they aren't going to draw the characters in true to form lego style. whats the point then.
I Like The Govener In The Soldiers Fort
Can’t wait for more
Red coats video coming next week!
