- Why didn’t I do this sooner!! Today we are using the new Raptor 2k black aerosol bedliner to spruce up the bumpers and grill of the Duramax. This one day upgrade has totally changed the look of the truck, along side with a bangin new set of LED DRL headlights....🤯
Raptor Bedliner did send me these 2k aerosol cans for testing and opinion purposes free of charge. There was no implied positive review in being given these products. I receive no monetary payment from Raptor.

Dude...I’m in the middle of doing a chrome delete on my F150, you just saved me a ton of money. 😎👍🏼
Same
Man I just picked up a black 2016 F250 XLT and hate how bright the chrome is. Can’t wait to get into this!!
Same
I did my '01 2500HD grill, bumpers, flairs, & mirrors. I'm highly satisfied! Caution, the stuff is very messy and comes out fast. Stay back 2'-3' and keep moving. If a spot globs up, wait 10 minutes and go back over it.
I Raptor lined my entire truck (2003 ZR2) several years ago , it holds up great and you can recoat very easily. It does well against salt also. Great job!!
Man that sprayed a nice texture out of a can.
was about to drop 1k for line x to do this. guess im going to do it my self instead. EPIC !!!!!
Did this to an aftermarket grill on my 08 AMG CLS with the rest being a stock polished out black. Just the grille alone fits perfectly somehow. Eventually front splitter will add some character to the front end. Easy prep but the longer you do that , the better your bed liner results. Even a bit of sanding helps depending on the location.
Nice look! Honestly, if one saw the truck without the video, would look like a pro shop did the lining. Way to go man! 🤙
Awesome video!! Straight to the point easy to follow and looks fantastic
Well done, that's a huge improvement.
I just did my rear bumper on an old Toyota Tacoma. I actually removed it as well as the plastics. Things I learned by diving in are wear gloves and keep your hands clean, DO NOT let that dry on your hands!! Even though it will feel dry, let it cure(how I got it on my hands in the first place lol!) I like how you actually bedlined the plastic, turned out great. Eventually I may do the whole truck, wth, its 14 years old and has it's share of scratches and paint wear.
Holy Cows that turned out beautious!!! Good timing for me, I'm doing the bottom section of my van and my bumpers this weekend with Raptor, but I'll be using the spray gun. Thank you!
Came out awesome, looks really good!!
Absolutely amazing job! Truck looks spectacular brother!
love your vids bro. just got a tahoe and already did the grill asap lol. thanks man. yours looks wayyyy better.
Can’t believe I live 7 miles south of you (Troy)and just found your channel. Love the video.
Troy, TX? Where does he work at? I want him to do mines lol I stay in oenaville lol
Kick ass. Looks great. I love raptor. Had no idea they sold it in rattle cans. Awesome.
Really informative and helpful. thank you.
Adhesion promoters for plastics. Etch primer for Chrome but you have to send Chrome minimum 80 grit or it'll fall off and you just waste a lot of money. Trust me seen it happen I'm the guy that redoes it.
The upol acid etch on the chrome and 80 grit sand paper? Getting ready to do my gmc duramax right now...
Looks awesome man!!!
That looks very sharp 👌
? Re: Dry/Cure/Harden Time…
Thank you for including how much time it takes AFTER you finish the last coat; before it’s safe to handle, cured enough for reassembly, & to fully harden for washing etc…
My suv is a daily driver. Since I need it for work M-F, this would obvi be a weekend project. On top of that, I currently don’t have a garage to keep it safe from debris, dust, & bird bombs… ☹️
I’m only planning to do part of my hood, grill, & trim line; to give my white suv a bit of the “stormtrooper” look.
To protect it, for the initial 12-24hrs, I fig. I could use some blue tape to hang a tarp or plastic drop cloth over the sides & then tape some styrofoam blocks on the edges of the hood to suspend a tarp over the hood etc…
That all said… If I manage to get it all done by Sat. afternoon, do you think it’d be dry enough by Mon., to safely drive around town/to-from work, w/o messing it up? Thanks in Advance!
Thanks for the video , even I was able to do this for my Commander!!
Those early 2000's Chevy's do clean up well
Awesome job man 👌
Love how your truck turned out! ❤️😍❤️
I also like your led light bar recessed behind the grill. Did the same w/ my 05 Dakota after I swapped out a Bentley style grill.
Idk if you saw this w/ your grill (before you painted it), but there was one unexpected “side effect” that I thought was pretty cool w/ having a light bar behind a chromed grill…
B/c all the honeycomb/square mesh holes are about 1/2” deep, the led light reflected off the sides of the holes, as it passed through the grill. So much so, that it made the entire grill look like it was glowing or was illuminated itself.
Wow the truck looks amazing
great informative video, gonna do this to my bumper and grille on a trailblazer
Really makes me want to do my f150 right away.
Nice, I am going to use your exact same procedure on my mint 2010 FX4 F 150
Very sweet, just convinced me to raptor line my burb bumpers.
Did you ever raptoline your Burb’s Bumpers?
Love the raptor coat look. I'm doing the same to my 3rd Gen ram 3500 DRW. Can't wait! I do want to ask where you got your shirt? "Diesel runs through these veins". Love it
Looks awesome
Looks so good
Omg that looks awesome
Thanks man , Great video
Love the way it turned out, been wanting to see how chrome was dealt with. What I’m really wanting to know is on your grille did you have to scuff up the grille holes individually or did you just use the adhesion spray. Thanks. Your rig looks AWESOME!!!
Was thinking about doing a black spray paint job on my bumpers but bedliner is going to be more durable, cheaper, and less work. Definitely doing this on my Gen 2 Dodge.
I'm moving to Ohio next year. No front license plate out front. SWEET...
Damn good looking truck
I work for O'Reilly's. When I'm ready to tear the cheap plastic liner out of my truck I'm gonna get me some of the Raptor
Looks great. Though if it were me I would have prepped the chevy logo and used the raptor liner on it then painted it the color of the truck. I've never been a fan of the "plastic chrome" trim due to how it gets chipped/scratched up
awesome! just subscribed! thank you for sharing! getting ready to do my 2002 Silverado 4x4 extended cab! getting excited!
also from ft wayne indiana!
GAME CHANGER
The bumpers turned out crazy good👀 Your vids are always straight to the point and well versed. Thanks for sharing all that you do👊👍👍✌
I'd pull the trailer hitch and raptor it....actually, I have pulled my hitch and am going to raptor it along with my whole rear bumper.
I would have done the flares with raptor also. Would match the bumpers and break up the main color. Always liked that look
How well has it held up after 2.5 years now?? I’m really curious. I’d like to do my chrome bumpers but I’m hesitant due to the chrome not making a good surface for adhesion.
That’s what I was worried about, I sanded the chrome down with some rough sand paper and spayed the first couple coats pretty thin and it’s held up really well for the last year and a half!
I’m looking to do my racks and brush guards on my 02 4runner and my Honda rubicon. Keep hearing raptor and was hoping they had a spray can.
So, did save some money to me as well. Thank you
There's an elephant in the room! So here I am as a RUclipsr trying to learn the correct way to do some of these techniques. And I found your channel. You have made a really nice video. I can hardly wait to dig into the rest of your channel. You seem experienced, give quality instructions, have excellent recording equipment and lighting. In all sincerety I'm learning a lot of things from you. Subscribed.
I have two gripes that must be pointed out. There's a lot of BS OSHA rules out there. In my humble opinion when it comes to spray paints containing polyisocyanates, I think OSHA got it right.
Gripe Number 1: You are putting your health at great risk spraying 2K paints without wearing proper personal protection. Potential damage to your health is not likely, it's inevitable with your current practice. And the injury from isocyanates is permanent. Please wear proper protection.
Gripe Number 2: With your obvious talent experience in this industry, you are setting a poor example for the many who are watching this. There are a lot of young DIY's that will probably follow your visual example of not wearing protective equipment. It's hard to believe that none of the other many commenters have even mentioned a word about it.
Here's my plan as a retired firefighter who plans on shooting some of these 2K spray products at home: Since I cannot affort a professional Positive Flow Air Respirator System to wear while spraying, I'm planning on purchasing a used SCBA Scott Firefighter Air Pack with a 30 or 45 minute composit bottle. It's complete respiratory protection because you're breathing fresh, safe air from the tank on your back. I'll also wear a paint suit and nitrile gloves as these isocyanate chemicals can also absorbed through our skin. Hope my suggestions are helpful.
I have a 2008 Chevy c1500 with 6 ft bed ... just picked up a high top topper for it, fits perfect .... would you recommend spraying, using the cans or rolling? I don't have a booth. TY so much for all the knowledge!!!!!
Planning on doing that to my mountain bike. A bit indecisive yet... Don't want to mass it up.
How’s the durability on it? I want to do this on my CRV’s plastics. However, I am curious if it’ll chip or something with Highway debris or simple scuffs.
That Duramax is badass looking tough. Love it. The color contrast is great.
Just bought some 1k aerosol raptor truck bed liner. Some reason I can’t find a comparison from 1k to 2k and I can’t even find the 1k on the raptor liner site. Stoked to use it though
I’m thinking this is gonna look sick on my 14 Ram Laramie. Can’t wait to get rid of all that chrome !
First- great video man, keep up the good work!
Looks really good buddy, sweet ride! I think I'll do that to my F350 Regular cab lifted Dually. Cheers from Canada.
Man, I was looking at that masking job and thinking one slip, or one breeze, and that white paint job is covered in black overspray. The black came out great.
For all the stuff covered (front + rear bumpers, grill) how many bottles did it take? How much you think for the bed?
I'm gonna do the same thing except I'm gonna base coat clear coat the steel bumper
Those headlights are a huge upgrade!
I wonder if you can do your frame and axels with this stuff and it hold up.
I have a nice PMF lift that's powder coated. It looks great but the rest of the underside could use some love.
I did my lift kit skid plates and this stuff has held up great on those!
How many cans did you end up using with the 2 coats applied? I am doing the bush guard and hood rack on a FJ Cruiser. What's you thought on how many cans I would need for that project?
Nice Job! Do you recommend upol adhesive4 even if I’m just raptor lining my plastic bumpers?
Looks great! Damn I need to peel the faded plastidip on my bumpers and spray them with this! Where did you get those license plate covers from?
Autozone👍🏻
Looks Hella sick im doing the same
Looks really good. Try the emblem body color it will give it some contrast.
Good call👍🏻
Do you feel it would be easier or any difference in cost to spay they entire truck with the rattle can or do you still recommend their kit for an entire truck? Thanks.
That actually looks really nice I didn’t think it would turn out that good
I chrome deleted my Tundra with Plasti Dip and what I learned is it's a bad idea if you have a membership to a carwash. After about 6 months my bumpers look like they have flappy skin hanging off everywhere. Soon I'll remove the plasti dip and give this bedliner a shot. I hope it holds up. Sure looks nice on your truck.
I bought me 2 of these black cans of the 2k black when i pressed the red button in the Raptor came spraying out made such a mess like you not ever seen WOW i didnt know it would even do that.I was so pissed the F bombs was flying i cant believe that what a mess that did
Very cool
You should do this on the side for extra 💰!
Does this come in other colors and what kind of protection does this offer? I have a 2016 Toyota Camry hybrid and want to do some real protection from rocks and other junk that likes to chip at paint just on the front bumper. Would this stuff work for me?
if I had a similar bumper-would it be worth it to fill the bumper gouge with bondo or something? How's it holding up after 2 years?
Looks great. As for the prep spray or primer . You don't have to scuff it up on the chrome ?
The entire prep is in the video. I definitely scuffed up the chrome
Hi. Love this look. I just bought a 2019 Ram 1500....Hate the chrome grille n bumper, so my question is, how is this holding up so far?
Holding up great, only have one small scratch in the bumper and that’s due to being hit by a Toyota Corolla in a parking lot 🤷♂️
sick
Where did you get your grill from, i love the look of that
Just bought my 2014 f150 ecoboost back home in Ohio (Cleveland-Sandusky area). Seeing this the chrome package is gone, also my bed needs lined. I know what I’m buying
I have a metal bumper not chrome and it has the plastic bumper caps, should I spray raptor liner where those bumper caps snap back on or will it be too thick???
Looks great. My 06 needs it done but I didnt know what it would look like going over the chrome. Now I see.how many cans of liner did you use on the whole project? How many cans of #4 did you use?
I used about 1 1/2 cans of #4, 3 cans of liner on the front, 2 cans on the rear, 1 can on the grille
Ok thanks
Say if you only use half a can...can u turn it upside down and blow out nozzle? Do you have to clean nozzle ? Or do you have to use it all at once thanks !
I'm about to do this to the chrome bumpers on my f250
I was thinking I'd need to use a self etching primer or something before spraying the raptor. Not needed??
Hey awesome videos💪🏻 question where did you get the Chevy bowties from the front and rear
Just off of Amazon🤷♂️
Is this 2k protective coating version tougher than the truck bed coating version?
Do you know the part # on that chevy emblem. Ebay and Amazon are saying like 3 different ones fit my truck. Ordered Amazon and it doesn't fit perfectly like yours.
05 Duramax.
Badass
wow. I m impressed and I hate everything. I need a couple cans.
Please let us know how easy or difficult it is to get bugs off that new front end...also on the window guards, do they make more noise or are they worth putting on?
Watch this one, I go into how it was a month after doing it to my truck and having to clean the hood area. As far as the guards they make no noise and I love them.
ruclips.net/video/IGO9zIsG0eA/видео.html
How many cans did it take to do the front and rear bumpers and grill?
How did this hold up for you? I’m doing this for the second time today. I watched this video 6 months back and it’s chipping now so I’m adding a few more coats
Literally one small spot has chipped but that was because someone hit my truck with a golf cart🤷♂️
Great job, how did the Raptor hold up in the last year?
It’s been great!
I’m about to install these same headlights. What did you do for the wiring of the led lights? I’m unsure of what I should wire them to. The drl, turn signals, or what not
I put them to the park lights
How has the raptor liner held up on the chrome section of the bumper?
what was your mix ratio as far as tint and thinner
What did you use to scuff the bumper?
How durable is it would it work good on running boards ?
Can we get an update?? How has it held up?
Pfft I didn’t even see this video before I asked you on your last one in the comments 🤦♂️ I’m going to be doing my lml this next week I’ll put it on IG and tag you!
Hell yeah man!!
Rustbelt Mechanic tagged you, I just did bed caps and rear bumper last night, got to get more liner to complete the front. This stuff is no joke when it comes out!
Will it be an issue to spray over back up sensors?
