    Fuji doesnt want to compete in the fullframe market since its the most satured one. They found their retro niche in the high end apsc market and are doing amazingly there. They do have medium format for those who find the crop sensor not deeming. They found a winning formula where Canon,Sony,Nikon and Panasonic are fighting over professional market they go for enthusiasts and hobbists, and its working.

    • @ShotsByJev

      Yeah, there is some sense in your words, but still for me is strange that Fujifilm brings film simulation from their film background, but dont have same as film size sensors in their cameras

      Honestly, unless you're ready to pay any amount of money for the full frame lenses (I'm talking 1500 usd+ each) to get the extra 3% quality, it doesn't make sense.
      Speaking for myself, my X-H2 + 27mm f1.2 viltrox is sharper and punchier than any lens I have for the A7C2, including Sony G lenses. That kit is cheaper than just the Sony body!

    I switched to Fuji for pro work (weddings, portraits, food) with a X-H2. I come from Sony and I don't regret it at all, lighter gear and more importantly having more fun. I got an XT-30 II as a backup, I ended up using it almost everyday for street and even for some pro shoots with a wide lens. The image quality is amazing and the workflow is really nice.

    • @ShotsByJev
      @ShotsByJev  9 месяцев назад

      How do you handle low lights with Fuji at weddings? Because I find full frame to be on the limit. Also do you lack depth of field and blur on background as it is less with aps-c sensors?

      @@ShotsByJev I push to 6400 ISO and sometimes a bit higher as most people don't care about a bit of noise :) Also I tend to use a couple of off-flashes in the room if it is really dark . For bokeh 56mm 1.4 is amazing. FF is way overrated these days.
      I even sometimes shoot with my Lumix GX9 with a 30mm equivalent 1.7 Leica MFT lens and it works great !

      Yeah I don't get why so many photographers are scared of using Fuji professionally, counting also that having the film simulations makes the photos incredible, getting photos ''right'' how you want them on the spot with those FS it speeds up everything in post too. Whenever people mention the ergonomics of the XT30ii, I always want to tell them about a hot shoe thumb grip. I have big hands, and this really changed the way I feel about holding the camera. Also, I think it looks great. I have the silver body with a matching silver grip. The back buttons remain easily accessible as well. I prefer back button focusing and there's been no issue.

    • @ShotsByJev
      @ShotsByJev  6 месяцев назад

      Well for me the X-T30ii thumb grip is plenty enough, no need for more. Also personally my opinion, that X-T30ii with hot shoe thumb grip looks even worse than X-E4 with all added grips. But hey, it is just my opinion, and if you enjoy using your camera with that hot shoe grip than it is all that matters, because we all have our own preferences!

I’ve seen a lot of people recommend this camera but it’s quite a bit smaller than my current body and it would also mean starting from 0 with lenses. Can’t really afford the latest offerings from Sony but I’ve seen this camera £700 or so with a kit lens and have been really considering it. Would you say I would notice the difference enough to justify the change from a 70D to this?

      Hey! As a fuji user I must say that these aps-c cameras a pretty capable, the ISO performance is nice. Can't be 100% sure, but I believe it is better than on older Canon aps-c cameras. The size og X-T30II is small, yes, but it depends how you plan to use it. If for travelling then the size is great for that, if you want to use it for work then the small size might be an issue. In that case take a look at X-S10/20 as those cameras are with bigger grips while also has IBIS which is very usefull

      The better IBIS would be great as would the battery but I’d sooner buy a few extra batteries to keep by my side than drop £1,400 on a camera 😂

      Thank you! Regarding weddings first of all this camera is way too compact to carry it around comfortably capturing wedding moments, then if you attach heavier lens it becomes front heavy. The last thing that would stop me is aps-c sensor, because I need low light performance, although everytime I take some low light images with this fuji I get amazed how it performs, so maybe in the future I will think about X-T4 for weddings

      @ShotsByJev  8 месяцев назад +4

      Well I chose 27mm lens over 23mm lens first of all because of size difference and second sometimes 23mm for me is a little too wide. Probably I should make a video review of this 27mm pancake lens

    I’m thinking on buying this camera, which prime lens would u recommend? Thank u very much.

    • @ShotsByJev
      @ShotsByJev  8 месяцев назад +1

      Well, the only fix lens I have is XF27mm but I dont think it is prime one, but just check few of fujifilm fix lenses, the mentioned xf27mm is good, but F2.8 is a bit lower than F2 in XF23mm for example, but the XF23mm is also bigger. Overall I would suggest as the first lens for Fujifilm either XF27mm or XF23mm

      @@ShotsByJev thank u very much for being so helpfull, I think 27 mm is perfect for me, I have to decide btw fujinon or Ttartisan 😀 now

    • @ShotsByJev
      @ShotsByJev  8 месяцев назад +1

      I went for 27mm because of the size mostly, also 23mm is a bit too wide for my taste, but I paid for that with darker aperture. So it depends on the needs. Also if there is option I would always go for native fujinon lenses i stead of third party unless there is significant price difference or budget limitation

    • @ShotsByJev
      @ShotsByJev  4 месяца назад +1

      Thank you! But I dont think that there should be dual slot, because on bigger Fujis there is ones, and this is small casual camera, so it is fine. There would be no point to have different models if the only difference would be in size. Also you can shoot raw+jpg to one card

    Hello! Thank you for providing this. I have had the x-t30 II since it came out. I replaced my x-t20. Some of the issues you have are the same I do, for example the placement of the play button. I don't shoot video but the video is beautiful! I see you are using the 27mm which is the lens that lives on the camera. I only wish the touch to shoot was a little more responsive. I don't use this feature often but sometimes when in crowded streets, I used this on my GX9 and it's way more responsive. FYI, I rented the X-E4 but I preferred the on board control features of the x-t30. Have you downloaded the new Fuji app yet? It's MUCH better!

    • @ShotsByJev

      Thanks for such comprehensive comment! As your comment shows we all use our cameras a bit differently as I never tried touch to shoot function, but now I might! Regarding new Fuji app I want to try it, but I didnt manage to update camera software yet so it would be compatible with new app

      @@ShotsByJev I think you'll be amazed at how much better it is! Yes, touch to shoot I only use during very specific situations, for example when moving between crowded places very quickly or when I really need to be discreet. I would love to know how it works for you. I'm finding it a little slow, as I mentioned. Thanks for giving the X-T30 II some love!

    Bring out an X-T40 with the 40mp sensor and IBIS and you have the perfect small photo centric camera!

    • @ShotsByJev
      @ShotsByJev  9 месяцев назад +1

      How you imagine is possible to fit IBIS in such small body? There is no space for that in current body. Also 40mp sensor would be so unnecessary because now it is perfect casual camera. With 40mp images would take much more space for no reason

    • @geofff6671
      @geofff6671 9 месяцев назад

      Plenty of small M4/3 cameras have IBIS, as does the X-S10, which is not much bigger.

    • @TofuCate
      @TofuCate 9 месяцев назад +2

      That's basically the X-T5. If the X-T40 came out with those features, the X-T5 and X-T6 wouldn't have much of a purpose to exist.

    • @ShotsByJev
      @ShotsByJev  9 месяцев назад +2

      Why not to get X-S10 then? Cameras shouldn’t be all the same

    • @geofff6671
      @geofff6671 9 месяцев назад

      @@ShotsByJev it has a PASM setup and a fully articulated screen, which I don’t care for. It is not unreasonable to want an X-t40 with IBIS. All the X-Txx models so far have followed the X-Tx models with a smaller size, smaller viewfinder and drive dial but no ISO dial and a few less direct controls.
