M2 Pro Macbook in 2024 And Why You Shouldn't Future-Proof Your Gear
Hi, Great video! I had one question tho, that I couldn't really find a proper answer to. So can you assign movie recording to the Fn button? Cause in the manual of mark ii it says "MOVIE RECORDING RELEASE" meaning you can just assign it to the button next to the shutter. However I think that's exclusive to only the mark ii. Wanted to see if that is true.
Hey, thaks! As I checked on Button settings you can actually assign Movie recording release to Fn button.
You said yourself that you don't want to compute how much money your recommendation will cost, so why not recommend a pre-loved kit, especially DSLRs or some of the earliest mirrorleas? For less than the price of any of the bodies listed you could get a whole kit with great performance even by today's standards. I'm sure many aspiring photographers would be scared off by the price for getting into the hobby today, you really don't want to be gatekeeping.
Well, I actually gave some options, for example if money isnt an issue than X-T50/A7iv, if budget is tighter than X-T30/A7III and if the budget is even tighter there are X-E20, X-E3. Anyway you dont need to buy everything right away, lots of time you dont even need to buy a computer as you already might have one. I dont want to recommend DSLR cameras as it is old technology already, those cameras are bulkier so it is worth then to save some money and get mirrorless right away.
4:39 i feel like those four balconies above the foreground had some potential
Yes! But unfortunatelly it was private apartment area and I was shortly asked to leave the area, so couldn't do much there.
@@ShotsByJev ahh yeah I caught that later on. Shame too as the building is so cool and no one really had any personal effects out and about.
7:20 not gonna lie I have a horrible luck streak with sandisk may I recommend kingston if you wanna pay less, angelbird if you wanna pay more and lexar somewhere competing with sandisk
Thanks for this additional info! It is true that other people experience with same things might vary, so it is nice to hear about some alternatives.
Give us the settings next time when you post the results.
Happy birthday to you! Very nice video. :) Very good advice.
Thank you very much!
Did you use any film simulation or are the images edited?
Yes, I did and actually I am now working on the video about exact film recipe I used and will release it in the near future
@@ShotsByJev Thank you so much, i'll wait for that video!
Nice video. I'm still happy shooting my X-Pro 1.
Thanks! Are you using it for work or for casual shooting?
@@ShotsByJev Just for fun. I do take pictures of events at work, but it's not part of my job.
I love my XE-1. It’s become my daily carry and the thing I take to all fun events with friends. Not big or bulky but high quality photos that impress everyone. It’s got some cons and struggles to compete with my more serious cameras but it is my favorite to use.
If you're going for performance, get Sony. If you want something that will look "cool", get Fuji.
Pretty much.
🤣 "most popular camera brand now" NO, it is Sony !!! I will any day recommend Sony Cameras to beginners, there is a Sony Camera that can fit to any person ! I will recommend to start with one or two prime Lenses, either a 35mm or a 85mm, maybe both, a macro Lens will be a good alternative ! There are so many good Lens options for the Sony E-mount ! 45 years of experience as both a professional and a hobby photographer as well as a teacher in photography.
Well among professionals Sony is the most popular, sure, but among general people who buy camera for casual photography I think Fuji with its film simulations is getting more and more popular. Across tiktok and other platforms Fujifilm is huge. Thats why for pros I recommend Sony, and for casual shooting Fujifilm as with fuji you will be able to avoid editing using film simulations.
@@ShotsByJev NO !!! Look at the selling number !!! noob
Thanks for being this “polite” but you dont take into consideration who buys cameras. There are lots of professionals who make most of the sales, so ofcourse Sony will be on the top. But on social media Fujifilm is more popular.
Unless you happen to hate everything about Sony, like me. No thanks.
just buy Sony and recommend it to someone who will actually listen to your advice. here your opinion is irrelevant. so instead of arguing with someone on internet, go and so something useful with your Sony camera.
Happy Birthday 🎉❤
Thank you!
How do you deal with the whole privacy law in Germany? I´ve seen a lot of discussion about it and most say that you cant have a person in frame at all while I always see videos like yours where you are clearly not asking everyone for their permission to get their photo taken. please help a beginner street photographer in Germany here 😅
Well, I was there only for a few day and didnt encounter any problem at all. I usually shoot a bit from A distance so that helps and people usualy dont see I’m taking pictures. Also I did a video of taking portraits of people in Berlin and told everyone of them It is for youtube and all of them were fine with that. So I guess as long as you dont annoy people then it should be fine.
@@ShotsByJev Thanks a lot for the help man.
Managed to finish and release this video on my Birthday! Hope you enjoyed it and found it useful!
Happy Birthday!
Mine arrived two days ago. Feeling overwhelmed but excited to get use to it and have fun (:
Hope you will have a great time with your new camera!
When I put it in auto, my shutter is getting too slow. Help
Hey, its because you are probably shooting in a dark enviroment, try to put it in shutter priority mode (S,Tv) mode then you will be able to set shutter speed and then camera will figure the rest
@@ShotsByJev yay! Thanks! I appreciate it
$189? Presently $299 on B&H and Amazon! Looks like a lot available used...
Everyone has their own experience. I havehad shots from the X-T20 and X-T30 published in 5 major magazines and CMTa and GAC stations. Asa concert photographer, I sling 2 X-S20's and an X-T20 and have shot the top shows - including Carrie Underwood and Reba with them.
The vignetting is only really noticeable at wide apertures can be artistic (as you rightly point out) and is very easy to remove in post if you don't like it. The Fuji 27mm is massively overpriced for a consumer level lens and I think you only get a marginal increase in image quality in most situations. If you shoot street or environmental photography, use an aperture of f5.6 or above I see no discernible advantage to the Fuji in terms of photo quality. One thing to consider is that people are choosing to put old manual focus lenses on their modern cameras to get a vintage look which includes vignetting for their photographs. This lens has that advantage, is autofocus and does not require an adaptor. It will be interesting to see if TT Artisans bring out a mark 2 version of this lens.
Sorry for bothering you, I just got one this lens with my x-t50, I could adjust the zoom in at the first, but it changed to the aperture. How do I adjust the zoom in back?
I use the xt30 and xe2s on paid shoots and they work great. I like the smallers cameras.
What type of shoots do you do and how often?
@@ShotsByJev Right now just Senior portraits, so it's seasonal. Usually fall and spring. 3 a month. I've done maternity and engagement as well.
I mostly use the 35 f2, 50 f2, and 23 1.4. I use the 16-80 for wider or longer shots.
Its no matter of shame for fuji to not make full frame cameras.. fuji crop sensors are as good as full frame ..
If you directly compare fuji sensor to full frame then fuji will loose in low light performance. No matter how good they are you can outlaw physics and amount of captured light by sensor.
There is no shame in that. Is it also a shame that Nikon, canon, Sony don't make medium format cameras.. You should refrain form using such words for reputed companies which know way more than you about cameras.
Great video and beautiful images! You have a great eye for street photography. Greetings from Copenhagen. :)
Thank you, it is nice to hear that from copenhagener!
all i can think of.. this camera definitely needs a gimbal for videos
Well if you want to film while moving than yes, because optical stabilisation on lens wont be able to handle that, but in static shots like these I prefer that slight movement, makes the shot more alive.
Beautiful💗🥹🌷🌷🌷
Have a good day!
Awesome, is it an auto mode ?
On the streets I usually shoot in P mode with exposure compensation dial.
I have the Fuji but the AF noise is bugging me so much I think I‘ll sell it and get the TTArtisans Edit: but the strong Vignetting 🤔🤔
yeah, if not for the vignetting this lens would be way better than Fujifilm one.
Its a gimmick camera with that stupid FiLm dial
which lens did you use ?
I linked lenses I use in the description, but the main I used was Fujifilm XC15-45
Thank You. You talked me out of it.
Take a look at XF18-55 I find that one way better
Loved your images!
Thank you very much!
I bought the TTartisan for the vignetting!
Nice, I am glad there are people that appreciate vignetting!
Hi, is the image quality same between both the cameras? Xs20 and xt30ii?
Hey, yes, as both shares same sensors, on X-S20 is newer processor but I doubt it affect image quality that much
I know this is a late comment, hopefully you see it. But do you remember if the photos of the shoes near the beginning was sooc or was that with presets?
Hey, it was sooc based on classic chrome film sim as far as I can recall
i5923/iniki was much firmer than these
Made in China. No thanks 😅
Don’t you know lots of stuff is made in China? Although Im not sure mine X-T30 was made there. It might still be from Japan.
I love your photos! are they raw or jepg?
Hey, thank you! Those are jpegs from the camera!
Retropy is NOT a copy of any brand. Lol. Retropy is an updated version of Adidas Formel 1 which came out in the 70s.
I have the 18-55mm 15-45mm and the TTartisans 27mm I would like the 27mm with an aperture ring Fuji lens weather sealed I intend to keep both other zoom lenses as I have a use for both of them though the 18-55mm is my choice most of the time but not always I also like the 23mm F2 and 35mm F2 Fuji lenses both weather sealed which I find I need a lot in the UK weather I tend to use the 23mm lens the over all most I have an XT30 like you and bought it with the 15-45mm lens I recently bought an XT3 and the bigger lens sits great on it and looks good.......Tony
Yeah, on X-T3 bigger lens definitely feels better!
Congrats. Enjoy your camera. It's a very nice camera. I have it as well. Fuji bad auto focus is all I hear. I say purchase something different. No systems is perfect & before auto focus, people with cameras were taking great pictures. It's great you like "your" camera as do I. Blessings
Yeah, I agree that no system is perfect and although I wouldnt take fuji cameras to work yet I think they are great for traveling or casual shooting!
The metal rings that come with the camera strap quick release system must be fixed on the body. If you connect anchors with a cord directly without rings, they will quickly wear out. So my friend, don't mislead people.
Well, it is basic physics that rope will wear our in contact with metal and sharp edges, no? If you keep an eye on them and replace them in time everything will be fine and overall look will be better. Mine loops from peak design has been on my A7iii for 4 years and they are just fine. So no, I dont mislead people.
My X-T3 struggling with autofocus with the TTartisan lens
have you compared it to Fujis 27mm lens?
@@ShotsByJev nope. I get a lot of false positive focus on people's face/eye.
If you sell the two lenses you mentioned, you would be able to get close to a used Sigma 18-50 or new if you shop around. I had the Fuji 18-55 but sold it and got the Sigma instead. The lack of an aperture ring is not that much of an issue once you get used to working with the front dial. The weight and size plus constant f2.8 makes it worth it in my opinion. IQ is also very good on the Sigma.
well if I got Sigma 18-50 then I would sell XF18-55 also. But how they compare is sigma bigger than fuji lens? also do you lack that extra 5mm on the tele end?
@@ShotsByJev The Sigma is certainly lighter and more compact than the 18-55. But the Fuji has OIS, the Sigma does not. Personally I don't really miss the extra 5mm all that much but others might. The Sigma is also not weather sealed, it has a dust gasket at the mount but that's it. I think the Sigma is a great choice if you do not have a short zoom.
Yeah, I figured Sigma doesnt have OIS and it is a bummer, the combination of Fuji OIS and IBIS is great for me.
0:50 that shot is pure beauty!
Thank you, I appreciate that!
I have the v2 of the 27mm. My setup usually is Street: fuji 27mm + fuji 16mm f2.8 in the bag Travel: fuji 18-55 + fuji 27 Trekking: fuji 18-55 + fuji 55-200 Night shots: Fuji 35mm 1.4 Had but sold the viltrox 85 (to bulky) and the TTartisan 27 (had issues with autofocus) Only third party lens i have is a fully manual macro that works fine enough
I see you use quite wide set up for streets, I prefer shooting from a distance, so considering something even more tele than 50mm lens.
Thank you, this video is very useful for me, since I recently switched from canon to fujifilm ✌🏼
Nice! Hope you will have a great time with your new Fuji camera!
Only lens I’m bringing for my Europe trip in 2 days is my xf27mm 2.8!!
Very wise choise!
I have a kind of similar set of lenses: Fuji 18-55, TT Artisan 27, Fuji XC 35 f2, (instead of the Fuji 27), Sigma 56 f/1.4 (instead of YN50) plus a Viltrox 85 f1.8 (I love long lenses). If I where you, I'd get rid of the XC15-45, TT Artisan 27 and YN50 to get either a Fuji 35 XF f2 (small, kind of cheap on used market, portable, one stop brighter than 2.8 and WR if you get some day a WR body) or a Sigma 30 or 56 (kind of small, kind of cheap, kind of WR -not rated but with rubber gasket - and having at least one lens with an f1.4 aperture is very handy). My sigma is on par with a Fuji in term of IQ. Maybe, sell the Fuji 27 and keep the TT Artisan, if you go with the sigma 30 or Fuji 35 XF f2. Definitively sell the TT Artisan, if you buy the Sigma 56. I say all that but in fact, I'm thinking about adding a 15-45 to my kit (along with an X-M1).
Thanks for your thoughts! Will definitely need to think it over and make some desicions!
Be careful when you order: There is a version around coming without the charging box! (Personally I don't care very muc, but it was a nasty surprise.)
Well, if you read the description while ordering you will see there is options to choose from.
@@ShotsByJev Of course. That's what I meant with ›be careful‹. Thank you, anyway.
I am so happy that a lot of youtubers telling the people that the xt50 is not for professional work. The more the better. This way everyone thinks I'm an amateur and I'm not a threat when I'm working for a magazine during my travels. Thank you so much.
Do I sense some sarcasm here?
@@ShotsByJev with a bit of humor ;-)
