One of my favorite cameras of all-time but, when I got the XT4 I sold the XT30. Before I sold it tho, I managed to shoot a music video on it. 84million views later, it served it's purpose. "What video I wonder..?" Jhene Aiko "None Of Your Concern." Anyway, thx for sharing your words and video man.
@@JGushi87 Nope ! Never really experienced that really, with any camera...ever. I think it has to deal with always having cameras sleep / shut off after like 2min of not being used, and then also turning them off myself, in between setups or breaks or planning, etc. Aside from that, on videos...I don't shoot enormously long takes. I might spend a few minutes grabbing cutaways, then shut it off. Then I might decide to run the song in full and capture that.. 3-4min, no problem. I don't use cameras in the ways others do. @@TopshelfJunior that's WILD having an S5ii AND an X-T5 haha. Gonna be honest I was definitely tempted by the latest Panasonic stuff, it handles SO well but I just can't give up specifically having compact glass! Hope they both serve you well!
I bought the XT30 new around 5 years ago and have never been disappointed with it at all, however I wanted to buy the XT3 as well but am now holding off for an XT4 when I see a good used example. I definitely won't let my XT30 go though as it is a good as new. I agree with you how good it is and I'd recommend it to anyone for a great small camera.
Good to see you hear brother! Hope you enjoyed the surprise drop! It absolutely is a little monster for the price, definitely making good use of mine now! Let's see what XSummit brings!
X-T30 Mk 1 Gang checking in. Had this camera since 2020. I moved from full frame Nikon because of portability and wanting to get away from post processing. The X-T30 had everything I wanted and I was astonished at the time for the price. It really has so many little features that I love that are being phased out on newer Fuji cameras like you mentioned. The dials, my goodness. Exactly as you say, best on a Fuji camera. 4 years later, I am still extremely happy with the camera. Classic Negative would be nice and oh so wish it would get added via firmware update, but I have been fine without it from the beginning. When switching, I had no need for video and I don't think I have ever really used a tilt screen on a camera so they were not big factors for me. I got mine with a 35mm F/2 and its been on it ever since. No need for anything else. Wonderful everyday camera.
I have the XT30ii and in auto mode it lets me shoot JPEG and raw files at the same time. Ive never tried just raw on auto though. Great review I'm glad people love this camera as much as I do.
Thanks for posting this review. I own an X-T30II for just over a year now and I consider this to be my best ever camera (I used to own Nikon, Sony... ehhh). I am an amateur photographer but with experience of several decades... Started in the film era (incl. doing my own development and printing). Waiting for more of your posts. Regards!
My pleasure - thank you for taking the time to watch it AND leave a comment, genuinely really helps the channel. It is a little workhorse of a camera! Do you still do any film work? I shoot quite a bit of film (mainly Nikon F3, Mamiya 645) but my video before this was my first time posting a film video, might do some more!
I got a used XT-30 five months ago and its portability completely changed my photography. I was a Canon user before but the size, even in the mirrorless line, was big enough to be a burden when taking out the camera. The fuji is so much better, I can literally put the camera in my pocket, and its silver colour also manages to camouflage it a bit: people think it is an old camera which makes it more approachable and helps with security here in Brazil. The only thing I miss from my canon is the responsiveness: the canon is always ready, but I have missed some shots from my fuji even pressing down the shutter, the camera does not fire until I release and press it again (did you experience this problem? let me know, pls) - it may be a defective sample, don't now. I am so happy with this camera that I bought a brand new one and some lenses already.
Hey there, thanks for watching! Actually I think I do know what you're explaining, so Fuji added a feature where there is a delay in shutter release where the camera will confirm focus BEFORE shooting, it's called RELEASE/FOCUS PRIORITY in your settings, set it to Release, that means it will fire immediately. Alas, a true DSLR will ALWAYS be a hair quicker though, something to bear in mind!
Hello @FeralGinger thanks for the tip, but unfortunately I already tried that with no avail. Besides, I use back button focus so the shutter button should not trigger the AF system at all. This is a bizarre issue for me, and I am still trying to get to the bottom of it (I will check if the brand new body has the same problem, and I will try faster memory cards, I will also try a different lens (I am using the TTArtisan 27mm)). For now, it seems I will have to resort to always "warming" the camera by triggering the AF from time to time, and also use the burst mode. Did you experience something like that with your camera and this lens? The most common scenario for me is to be walking around and then, after seeing an interesting scene, trying to power on the camera and instantly take the shot (by smashing down the shutter button): that results in either 1) the camera just not fire, even after seconds with the button pressed or 2) it takes the photo after a delay, something 500ms~1s, but then I missed the "shot". There are some people with similar issues on the web, if you find this interesting, please take a look at this: - www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/4562799 - ruclips.net/video/xuj_Z2sPfTM/видео.html Thank you so much!
@@FeralGinger If I,m going to a wedding or something special, X-T5 with a couple of nice primes. Just a day trip or holiday were lightens is more important, the my X-T30 with 27mm pancake lens 🙂
I've had mine since June 2019. Was my 1st camera ever and the only one until I picked up a Canon 1N film SLR last month. Absolutely love this thing. It's a bit small for my hands, especially with things like the Viltrox 27mm and the Canon EF lenses I've started to pick up for the 1N, but I got the official Fuji grip and its fine now. Its amazing
I have the x-t30, but recently eyeing the x100vi, since it looks so enticing with the built-in stabilization, support for heif format, even smaller footprint, weather resistance. Especially since I just document my life, and even though the x-t30 is small, add a lens or two, and it's still tedious to carry around for me.
I completely get that, there is definitely a convenience factor to the X100 series that I can admire. However, if you can, try the X-T30 body with a 27mm next to the X100VI - the size difference in the hand is SHOCKINGLY similar but yeah the X100VI is mostly better specced! Thanks for watching
I have the X-T10, it's a fabulous wee thing. Couple of months ago I got a TTArtisan 25 f2 manual focus lens to try as an experiment, it hasn't been off the camera yet.
Great review. Id love this one but i am out in cornwall where random burst of rain are usual. What would i get if I wanted this but itd be safe in the rain?
I am someone who just enjoys taking pictures casually and who did not own a camera for a long time. My wife gifted me an XT30 (mark I) some years ago and I really love it. I am following Fuji's development of gear and newer models, but besides the fact that I will always keep this camera for sentimental reasons I truly believe that there is nothing better for me out there. Sure, the X100 are beautiful, but so are the xt-0, plus you can change lenses. If I had an X100 I would always feel I miss the possibility to try a different focal length. Now they say the XT50 will come out, but I guess it is going to be again a bit bigger and heavier to fit IBIS and with the larger sensor, maybe also weather sealing, but honestly I do not need those features nor even more film simulations to choose from. The XT30 is just very well balanced.
Hey, thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment it really helps! Honestly the Mk1 is a MUCH better deal in my opinion. I'm glad you're getting on with it so well, to be fair the size difference between the X-T30 vs X100 isn't what the internet would have you believe, try them in hand, they are EXTREMELY similar. That's a fair viewpoint on the X-T50 but realistically I think we may see a spec bump similar to that of the X-S20, I'm not convinced they will put the new battery in though as it would quite severely affect the body shape! Thanks again!
I’ve been a Canon guy all my life, but for my walkaround camera, I went with the X-T30 over the Canon point and shoot, in part because this review clinched my sense that this is a serious camera in a small form factor. I haven’t received it yet, but am looking forward to setting it up and playing with the options.
I’ve had my X-T30 for 4 or 5 years. It’s a great little camera and I’ve had all kinds of fun with it - everything from street to astro photography. I have small hands and I’ve got a bit of arthritis so I really like the small size and that it’s lightweight. I’ve been contemplating whether I’ll get the X-T50 when it’s released this coming week. I’m going to be in Sydney so hope to get to see one IRL. But the more news I hear about the new camera the more I think I don’t need to upgrade, and your delightful review really makes me think I’ll stick with my X-T30
Great choice ! I would even argue the X-T20 is an even better choice, since it still features the D-Pad in the back. And the sensor was frankly not so different from the X-T30.
Hey! I just purchased the XT30 ii and found this video really helpful. Love the content mate! I also have big hands and that has been my only gripe with the little giant haha!
Really glad to hear that you enjoyed the video - thank you! What lens did you end up pairing with it? The big hand/little camera is a pain when it comes to G.A.S. haha
Great little camera - I have the XT5 and had the X100V as every day carry around....but I just sold that and I am now waiting and desperately hoping for the new XT40 to be announced. If this has the new processor and 40mp sensor and maybe the IBIS then I will be preordering as soon as it is available!!!
The X100V is a lovely camera, but I decided I needed at least the opportunity of changing lenses even with a carry everywhere camera. I had no need for an optical viewfinder or an inbuilt ND so never used either. Then the 40mp sensor arrived along with the new processor, IBIS etc so I decided to cash in on the X100V whilst I could get a good price...which I did...and decided to wait for the (now rumoured to be the XT50) successor to the XT30ii Great news that Fuji is bringing the XT50 out in the first half of this year...according to Fuji Rumours who are usually spot on with their info. It is almost certain to have the "guts" of the XT5 as previous iterations had - Can't wait to get the pre order in!!!
@@NJM1948 That's fair! See I do LOVE an optical viewfinder but shoot enough film that I can sate my fill there fortunately. Sounds like you've made a pretty wise choice (I've also been keeping up with the FujiRumours) if it's true it will be another enormous success for Fuji that's for sure. Hope it works out for us - thanks for dropping by again!
for the price I'd tend to go for the X-T2 instead, both for photography and video. Larger viewfinder, dual SD and weather sealing is really what seals the deal for me. Burst rates are not as fast (although 8/11fps mechanical and 14fps electronic is hardly slow), and the autofocus reequires a little more experience, but it is 100% just as performand if you learn it and use it correctly. Side tilt screen is also a huge bonus imho. Also the ability to add a grip to extend the record times, get a headphone jack and don't have the need for an adapter if I want to use an external microphone) image quality wise, it's pretty much identical and I tend to prefer X-Trans III colors over the X-Trans IV. The X-T20 is also a beast fo the price (I'd ever way I prefer the ergonomics of the X-T20 over hte X-T30 : D-pad in the back means more functions buttons without the weird swipe stuff on the screen, and the Q menu button is not in a weird place)
Oh the X-T2 is FANTASTIC but I already have the X-T4 and I wanted something compact (having previously owned X70 and X-S10) but yeah the X-T2 is still an excellent camera and I'd be more than happy with one if size wasn't a consideration. You're bloody right about the button placement compared to the X-T30 haha however the thumbrest did stop ALL issues with that as a nice bonus!? Thanks for dropping by!
Very nice review! Thanks! I am looking for a travel/holiday camera and am considering the Fujifilm options (being an analog film hobbyist for some time). The Leica Q2 came to mind, but the $$$ threw me off... X-T30 MkII and the new X-T50 are looking to be the best options (don't want to be stuck with one lens only). What is your opinion? Go with the latest model, or get the cheaper and save money for lens? Thanks in advance!
Hey! Thanks for dropping by, it's hard to go wrong with any of these choices! The Q2 certainly is a little pricey - I actually just picked up the original Q! I'm personally NOT a big fan of the XT50, I would be considering a XT30 or an XS10 for a starting travel camera!
I have always overlooked this t-x0 series, until I got in my hand the xt30: it is incredibly well built, and Intotally agree on the dial. The only con for me is the the same little evf of the e series; other than that, I am considering it as my second camera ❤
that's completely fair regarding the EVF - the one on my XT4 is CONSIDERABLY better but to be fair, it's still plenty good enough for me! Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!
if that happens I will likely pre-order, that's genuinely one of my biggest requirements because I specifically like shooting in the rain! Thanks for dropping by!
Thank you for a clear and useful video. Would be nice to see a review of the best small lenses for this camera that you would recommend. I struggle choosing what to buy, since the camera doesn't have image stabilisation and most small lenses don't either.
Thank you for the kind words and dropping a sub my way - really appreciate it! I think unfortunately small and ibis are a pretty tough combo for Fuji shooters at the moment. The only small/light lenses are the TINY Fujifilm XC 15-45mm which does have OIS and only weighs 136grams but it's not particularly good. The next size up would be the Fujifilm XC 16-50mm which also have OIS but I have no experience with that. it's a little longer and comes in at 195grams. After that you've got the first "good" zoom in my mind being the Fujifilm 18-55mm F2.8-4 R LM OIS but it is MUCH bigger and a bit heavier again at 310grams and I would still chose the Sigma 18-50 (I made a video on this) as it's smaller/faster/lighter. I think the trade off is worth it even without OIS. Hope this helps!
Im a Nikon Zf and can't compare APSC over full frame. But I've always had this little guy on my mind and with the X100 VI out, I still think this is more camera than that one. The ability to change lenses I'd a deal breaker for me. I can't possibly pay 2x as much and lose that feature. Idk, I might pull the trigger and pair this with my Zf. I thought about the Zfc as well, but there's si.ply not enough Nikon APSC lenses.
honestly, if you can, try the X-T30 body with a 27mm next to the X100VI - the size difference in the hand is SHOCKINGLY similar. Aye, I also considered the ZFC but like you gave up on it. I REALLY hope Nikon actually make more vintage inspired glass, the ONLY modern lense that suits that body is the 28mm atm! How are you finding it?
Ordered a Mark 2 last night to use exclusively with the original trio of primes. With a credit applied, rewards points and no sales tax, the camera (new) cost me $29 out of pocket 😂 Having shot the X100V as my main camera since its launch, I’m looking forward to playing with some different focal lengths.
The size really makes it something special! I do LOVE the X-Pro cameras though and I keep thinking about picking up an XH1 as a backup body! Thanks for dropping by!
I shoot professionally with a Canon R6 but have wanted a more travel-friendly (and fun!) camera to take on family trips to get scenic photos and great photos of my kids. I've always wanted a Fuji and just bought the XT-5 new and am waiting on the preowned 35mm 1.4 lens I bought... but I'm wondering if I should have instead gone with an X-T30ii! Mostly concerned with size between the two. Would love your thoughts!
The XT5 is better in almost every way other than size and arguably, looks. It handles better, performs better, has better video, better auto focus, weather sealing and dual card slots. You made the right choice!
💢 Got My Xt30 Nov 2021 ▪︎. It's small & feels Super well made .... and takes AMAZING pix. It's easy to take it anywhere. Plus : folks LOVE it's retro look
Thx for the video. I feel a bit torn with this camera. I have had the x-e2, x-t2, but wanted better AF. I was looking for a x-t3, but got a crazy good deal on the x-t30, so I jumped on it. The AF and IQ is great. But I just have a difficult time loving it. I guess that the issues for me are: EVF too small, compared to the x-t2, I really miss the ISO dial, sure, the back command dial is programmed for ISO, but somehow it does not feel the same. The body also does not feel as robust... and the funny part is that I don't feel the same negativity towards my x-e3 (same size, small evf and even less dials) - well, let's see. Maybe I can learn to love the x-t30 some day
Great review! I bought an XT30ii a few months ago with a kit 18-55 f2.8-4. Also got XF 33 1.4, Sigma 10-18 2.8. Just wondering if the 33 1.4 may perform better in terms of image quality with XT5 due to its higher mp of 40?
Thanks! You absolutely will get better image detail on the XT5 with that lens along with ANY lens, the "recommended lenses" just mean you'll get EVERY pixel of extra resolution but yeah, it's a bit silly and unnecessary.
Thank you for your interesting review. I have the XT30ii with the XC15-45 lens, bought mainly for the size so that I can have it handy when trekking / walking. Not overly keen on the power zoom as it can be a little unresponsive but it does compact the lens down when not in use, for portability. Having said that I have just acquired the Fuji 70-300 telephoto zoom - which slightly dwarfs the camera body! From one of the comments it sounds like the thumb grip might help with the issue I have with inadvertently pressing the Q button? (This seems to be a common problem.) Could you help with one question that I have please? When auto-focusing, on pressing the focus lever it should re-centre the focus point. My camera has stopped doing this and now I have to press the disp/back button to re-centre. Is there a setting to make it revert to the original set up? Would be interested in any thoughts / advice on this.
Thank YOU for taking the time to watch it and comment! you're not wrong about the 15-45 being the ultimate portable lens, it's TINY! The grip will definitely reduce the Q issues, that was one of the main resolutions I saw online too. Not sure what's happened with your focus settings, I imagine a change in the custom button layout may have affected it? If you don't have TOO much in the terms of recipes ect you could consider a full factory reset? Menu>spanner section>user settings>reset Thanks again!
@@FeralGinger Many thanks for coming back with your advice. Much appreciated. I might just try a factory reset. Also liked your term "panic" switch for full auto - alternatively no faff / can't be **sed mode! BTW I'm not so far from you, near Hebden Bridge. May cross paths if out on the hills?
See, I always found this a VERY interesting camera, their most leica-like but I feel that I still prefer the X-E3 body, a SLIGHT grip, a d-pad AND the auto feature! The X-E4 LOOKS fantastic though but it's not kind to big hands. And once you've put a grip on it you negate the point of it IMO
Currently torn between the XT30 ii and the XS20 myself. I've only used a camera for photography up until now (X-T100) but want to explore video for RUclips and for the handful of times I've attempted to use my current camera, it sucks. It's just not geared up for it. So it's time to upgrade.
It does not, it's not as crucial as people paint it to be but if you want pro grade features you'll need a pro grade camera AND lens. The XPro3/XH line or the XT4/5
nice video thanks man i am thinking about switching from Canon (DSLR) to Fujifilm and i think this might be a good enry for me as i am on a tight budget. I was aiming at the new XS20 because of ibis i will consider the X-T30 and maybe the ii version Thanks again man cheers
Really great video! I’m currently in the market for a camera to get back into my photography and upgrade from my phone! Out of interest, how would you say the XT30 stacks up as a casual street/travel companion? Cheers!
Appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment. It's smaller in most dimensions than the X100, just not as "pocketable". Honestly it's a fantastic all round camera and perfect for travel due to the small weight/size! Hope this helps!
Thanks for this review! I’m not sure if I’ll get the XT30 or the XT4 (bc of IBIS and weather resistance), but given the difference in price I might just go for this one!
I already owned the Pro 2 , but when the XT30 came out, the price of the XT20 dropped significantly to $500. Keep an eye on the price of the XT30 if the XT50 is announced soon. There might be a price drop on the XT30.
Excellent camera, have been using it as my regular go to camera. But Fuji sure needs to release a newer upgrade version, it’s high time for the next generation of this gem .
Have 35mm F2 always on the camera but if shooting portraits I usually switch to the Viltrox 56mm F1.4. Some thing I would look for in next gen T30 would be resolution, more auto focus improvements, better low light performance.
AHH fair enough, I have mixed feelings about the 40mp sensor tbh! Better auto focus is always nice though. Nice to here someone else using the Viltrox 56, that's the lens I just used to shoot my TTArtisan video with! I use that and the Viltrox 23mm f1.4 for paid work
Yea.. the “price fluctuations”. The original x-t30 is pretty much out of stock, some crazy ppl try to sell it used for the price of new. The x-t30 ii exists more or less within MSRP. I just got used 35mm 1.4 for about 380 usd full box package and minimal use. The lens autofocus is pretty fast on x-t30 if anyone wondering. The x-t30 with a lens like that is indeed formidable device with small size and weight. Given the prices mentioned i see no reason to upgrade the body until it breaks i guess.
You're likely not wrong but certainly here in the UK the X-T30 is one model (currently) that is relatively easy to get hold of at a somewhat stable price used. The Mkii is CONSIDERABLY more here. Ahh glad you're getting on with the 35mm f1.4, it's an absolute gem of a lens! Thanks for swinging by and dropping a comment - really helps!
I just re-checked, i convert to US dollar for easier understanding.. X-T30 is on average used about 600-650 USD for body only used. New X-T30 II body can be bought at or around MSRP of 900 USD, after all not that terrible. I dont know what should happen if i am to decide to upgrade the body, only if my camera breaks or i see some shockingly good deal on X-T4 or X-T5 and could sell my X-T30 for that sweet 600 USD@@FeralGinger
It's crazy right? For what it's worth, the size difference is IMMEDIATELY noticeable in comparison to the X-T3/4 cameras though, I would recommend getting one in hand first and figuring out if you actually NEED the extra features as the images will be exactly the same. I definitely jumped on a good deal for the X-T4 though, it's worth more now than when I got it back in April! Thanks for responding!
@@FeralGinger some of the new film simulations, white balance shift per preset instead of per wb setting, and ibis are what i feel i could benefit from but not prepare to pay over a 1k for it. I will most likely keep x-t30 as is 📸

Hello sir,i am a phone photographer but want to upgrade to a good camera under $1000 budget for a second hand one. I most do landscape and street photography and sometimes night ones.i like fujifilm colors can you pls suggest me what's good for me ?
Hey, thanks for dropping by! $1000 will get you a stellar used camera for the price but I'd probably actually look at getting the original X-S10 or an X-H1 as you mention night photography, both of these on the used market are relatively affordable AND have built in in-body-stabilisation which would improve the low light images! Hope this helps, I actually did a review on the X-S10 I would recommend watching, it's one of the best camera deals right now!
Hey thanks for dropping by, the XT20 is still amazing, the biggest difference really is the auto focus so if you're having no issues, I'd advise putting the money towards an additional lense!
I’m considering buying the Fujifilm X-T30, but I have a few concerns. I’ve heard reports that the camera tends to overheat, especially during extended use, and that the battery drains quickly, which might be an issue for me since I plan to use it while traveling. I’m trying to decide whether the X-T30 would be suitable for travel photography or if I should go with the Sony ZV-E10. Could you provide some advice on which would be the better option?
My friend had the ZVE10, it's much better for video but no viewfinder is a deal breaker for me. The battery on both is not great as for overheating I never once had that issue but if you are planning on doing long form video (which you don't describe) go for the Sony
Both are fantastic cameras, pick via what lenses appeal to you most as they will be with you for longer than the bodies. Try to handle both too, the XT30 handles much better but the A6000 has better focus but less inspiring to pick up ect
This is my dream camera! No full frame, no XT5... I want it so bad but I would have to sell all my gear and invest like $1000 usd to get a similar kit that I currently have with Sony apsc
Hey thanks for dropping by, honestly I shoot in Raw a lot and mainly aperture priority with auto iso a lot of the time and each image is usually processed separately! Hope this helps!
Hey, it's the Lensmate thumbrest, they are expensive compared to the other options but the difference is night and day, I wouldn't use it without one now!
Hey thanks for dropping by. It's hard because I've had such good images from the X-S10 and the X-T30. If I didn't have the X-T4 as my main then I would HAVE to give up a little bit of size and go with the X-S10 every day even though I like the button layout less. The grip and the ibis do make a great difference. Hope this helps and thanks for stopping by!
Great camera but if you don't care about video it's arguably a step backwards from the xt20 (which in my opinion is peak Fuji). Subjectively I prefer the IQ of the xt20 and it has that big juicy d-pad. Plus the shutter sounds like Zeus himself playing the snare drum while riding a unicorn...
Hey thanks for dropping by. I get my used cameras from Parks Cameras in uk mainly, had VERY good experiences with them each time. Other than that I can recommend watching the wex used section!
If anyone could help me by offering advice. I want to buy my first camera, and I'm between a repaired XS10 and a new XT30, they have a similar price, around USD 1,200 in my country. I want to do photos and video for a traveling. I'd appreciate any input anyone can offer.
I had both, the XS10 is the better camera overall unless you REALLY need that slightly better look/cramped size. I have neither now but wouldn't rush to have another XT30, the XS10 I'd HAPPILY work with again. Remember to buy for what you need and put money into what ACTUALLY matters (the lenses).
Hey thanks for dropping by. In UK I've been stung by a few of the "popular" camera stores recently so I tend to only buy used gear through Park Cameras and they have been fantastic, not sponsored, just appreciate good service.

To be fair, a smaller camera is not the best idea if you know you have big hands. Beyond that, big hands are good on a man who wants to look masculine.

I agree with you how good it is and I'd recommend it to anyone for a great small camera.
honestly the X-T30/X-T4 combo is absolutely fantastic, I think you'll enjoy it! Really appreciate you stopping by and leaving a comment!

@@FeralGinger I ended up going with the 18-55mm Lens Kit. Thinking about getting a pancake lens, but that would be later down the line!
Crazy to see so many tactile controls and dials on such a small camera! What a little powerhouse 🤘
Ahh appreciate you dropping by and leaving a comment! Glad you're getting on well with it! That is odd, I will have to revisit this! Thanks again!

@@FeralGinger I mostly shoot photos, not video.
that's fair, I was asking about you saying you started in the film era, only asking because I enjoy shooting analogue too! :)
I’ve had my XT30 since ‘20, and I absolutely love it. Paired with the Zeiss Touit 32mm and its a match made in heaven.
ohhh I am VERY envious - I REALLY want some time with the Zeiss 32mm. Have you had chance to compare it to the 35mm f1.4?
@@FeralGinger Unfortunately, I haven't. I've bounced around with the idea of picking it up too, but I can't justify it when I love my Zeiss so much.
completely fair haha I will try and get one in for review at some point!
Looking forward to it!
There are some people with similar issues on the web, if you find this interesting, please take a look at this:

That's insane praise - thank you so so much!
Thanks mum!
Love my X-T30. Great companion camera to my X-T5. And the perfect travel camera 🙂
Thanks for leaving a comment! It's a fantastic camera! Out of curiosity, how do you pick which camera to take when the X-T5 is so well specced?
@@FeralGinger If I,m going to a wedding or something special, X-T5 with a couple of nice primes. Just a day trip or holiday were lightens is more important, the my X-T30 with 27mm pancake lens 🙂
I've had mine since June 2019. Was my 1st camera ever and the only one until I picked up a Canon 1N film SLR last month. Absolutely love this thing. It's a bit small for my hands, especially with things like the Viltrox 27mm and the Canon EF lenses I've started to pick up for the 1N, but I got the official Fuji grip and its fine now. Its amazing
It's definitely MUCH better with a grip right? Glad you're enjoying it and thanks for dropping by!
Your videos deserve so much more credit! Phenomenal review. Thank you!
Ahh thank you so much! thanks for the sub - means a lot, I do try to put a lot of effort into each video I make!
Hope you have an absolute blast! Thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment! What lens did you end up pairing it with?
My first Fuji was the x-t30. It’s a great camera and I still love it
That's a VERY strong intro to the Fujifilm cameras! What are you using now? Thanks for dropping by!
@@FeralGinger I still have that and an x-t4.
Honestly I'd rather have the XT30 mark one over the XT50 ANY day. The dial choice and 40mp sensor are just daft in the newer model!
I love my X-T30ii as well so so much! Tx for your Review!
Thank you so much for dropping by and leaving a comment! Glad you enjoyed it!
love your camera strap! what's the brand?
Home made, thanks for the comment!
Great choice !
I would even argue the X-T20 is an even better choice, since it still features the D-Pad in the back. And the sensor was frankly not so different from the X-T30.
You're likely not wrong, the X-T20 was a beast!
what lenses would you recommend for a fashion, lifestyle , retro photographer looking into videography. I would appreciate a response 🙏🏼
Honestly something like the sigma 18-50 f2.8 to cover all your travel stuff then a 23/35mm prime!
If this has the new processor and 40mp sensor and maybe the IBIS then I will be preordering as soon as it is available!!!
that spec would be phenomenal! thanks for watching and subbing! quite the combo you have/had - out of interest how come you sold the X100V?
The X100V is a lovely camera, but I decided I needed at least the opportunity of changing lenses even with a carry everywhere camera. I had no need for an optical viewfinder or an inbuilt ND so never used either. Then the 40mp sensor arrived along with the new processor, IBIS etc so I decided to cash in on the X100V whilst I could get a good price...which I did...and decided to wait for the (now rumoured to be the XT50) successor to the XT30ii
Great news that Fuji is bringing the XT50 out in the first half of this year...according to Fuji Rumours who are usually spot on with their info.
Also the ability to add a grip to extend the record times, get a headphone jack and don't have the need for an adapter if I want to use an external microphone)
image quality wise, it's pretty much identical and I tend to prefer X-Trans III colors over the X-Trans IV.
I have one myself and I love it. Imagine a water proofed X-T40. That would be even better
if that happens I will likely pre-order, that's genuinely one of my biggest requirements because I specifically like shooting in the rain!
@@FeralGinger thank you for your reply :) will keep searching!
Awesome review. You seem like such a kind person, its pleasure to watch.
Thanks for taking the time to comment!
Ordered a Mark 2 last night to use exclusively with the original trio of primes. With a credit applied, rewards points and no sales tax, the camera (new) cost me $29 out of pocket 😂
Having shot the X100V as my main camera since its launch, I’m looking forward to playing with some different focal lengths.
oh you are in for SUCH a treat. I am quite envious of you scoring it with the original (and best) 18mm - a lens I am still desperate to get!
Thats such an amazing deal! How did you manage to do that? I mean order one for me home you're at it 👀
I bought the X-T30 II recently and almost prefer it to my XPro3 and X-H1. Amazing little camera
Glad you agree and thanks for leaving a comment. it absolutely is a looker - arguably the nicest looking Fuji camera!
(This seems to be a common problem.)
Could you help with one question that I have please?
Menu>spanner section>user settings>reset
Thanks again!
If this camera gives you dial-rrhea, then check out the fuji XE4, paired with the new voigtlander manual focus, pancake f2 27mm & the f2.8 18mm.
Great review. Does the mark 2 of this camera have the weather sealing? Seems like a pretty crucial function in hot, arid, or seaside locations.
It does not, it's not as crucial as people paint it to be but if you want pro grade features you'll need a pro grade camera AND lens. The XPro3/XH line or the XT4/5
What strap are you using? Really nice with the green leather and gold/brass accents! Really liked the video btw :)
Thanks for the kind words - I make them for my cameras!

glad it was helpful, thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!
How is this for shooting RAW 4K video as compared to other Fujifilm Mirrorless
Thanks for this review! I’m not sure if I’ll get the XT30 or the XT4 (bc of IBIS and weather resistance), but given the difference in price I might just go for this one!
I already owned the Pro 2 , but when the XT30 came out, the price of the XT20 dropped significantly to $500. Keep an eye on the price of the XT30 if the XT50 is announced soon. There might be a price drop on the XT30.
I reckon you were right! Shame about the silly dial choice on the XT50
Is it worth the extra money for the mark 2 over the mark 1?
Excellent camera, have been using it as my regular go to camera. But Fuji sure needs to release a newer upgrade version, it’s high time for the next generation of this gem .
You're not wrong! What lens do you generally pair with it out of interest?
Also what would be your wishlist upgrade?

I heard that since the xt4, the quality has been going down. I prefer the dials on my xt3
X-T3 is arguably their BEST built camera to date with the exception of the X-H1, that thing is a TANK.
Would you say it is the most fujifilm camera that fujis?
Should I upgrade from my XT20, is it worth it ?
@@FeralGinger I take photos more than videos, so should I go with Fujifilm in that case?
Definitely review the TTArrisan lens! It looks dope!
Thank you so much!
Which one is better for a beginner's first camera: X-T30 or Sony A6100 (or A6000)?
Both are fantastic cameras, pick via what lenses appeal to you most as they will be with you for longer than the bodies. Try to handle both too, the XT30 handles much better but the A6000 has better focus but less inspiring to pick up ect
I’m so excited to get mine! Love the video
Appreciate the kind words! Congrats!
This is my dream camera! No full frame, no XT5... I want it so bad but I would have to sell all my gear and invest like $1000 usd to get a similar kit that I currently have with Sony apsc
Yoooo Dan Mumford art! Hell Yeah! Subbed!
Dan Mumford is AMAZING, I've been following his stuff for years!
Thanks for dropping by!
I hope there's an XT30 III with IBIS in the future but I’m not going to hold my breath.
well they can't say it's too small after managing it with the X100vi! fingers crossed!
Top quality review brother!
Thank you so much man, this one was pretty satisfying to make in the end but took a WHILE for me to get right haha
Would like to see the TT 27 review!
Hey thanks for returning to check out another video! A few people asked for it so I did end up posting it, hope you get a chance to check it out!
Hi Sir do you have a sample settings for this cam?
Hey thanks for dropping by, honestly I shoot in Raw a lot and mainly aperture priority with auto iso a lot of the time and each image is usually processed separately! Hope this helps!
Cool photos brother
If I find a mark ii for $400 with 2 lenses would you say that’s good as a first fujifilm camera as someone who is transitioning from film to digital?
Did you find one for 400??? Im looking at one for 1k rn... Theres not a lot of them where im at
great video, but why is it so quiet? I had to make it so loud that the commercial gave me a heart attack 🤣
Haha sorry, I've sorted my audio solution since this video 😂
May I ask what thumb grip that is or were to purchase one?
Hey, it's the Lensmate thumbrest, they are expensive compared to the other options but the difference is night and day, I wouldn't use it without one now!
@@FeralGinger thanks for the info, I'll probably get one for my X-T30, cheers
Nice review, thank you 😊
Really appreciate you for taking the time to watch and comment!
Great review and easy to understand 😊😊
super kind feedback - thank you!
Heyy, do you prefer the xt30ii or the xs10?
Hey thanks for dropping by. It's hard because I've had such good images from the X-S10 and the X-T30. If I didn't have the X-T4 as my main then I would HAVE to give up a little bit of size and go with the X-S10 every day even though I like the button layout less. The grip and the ibis do make a great difference. Hope this helps and thanks for stopping by!
Great camera but if you don't care about video it's arguably a step backwards from the xt20 (which in my opinion is peak Fuji). Subjectively I prefer the IQ of the xt20 and it has that big juicy d-pad. Plus the shutter sounds like Zeus himself playing the snare drum while riding a unicorn...
this explanation of the shutter is amazing haha I DO agree with you on the Dpad for sure, I get a LOT of use out of that on my other cameras!
Where can you buy one, they are all sold out everywhere
Hey thanks for dropping by. I get my used cameras from Parks Cameras in uk mainly, had VERY good experiences with them each time. Other than that I can recommend watching the wex used section!
Would you choose the xt30 over the xs20?
Only tactility, price and size, the XS20 is better in every other way but at a much greater cost on the used market!
Brilliant video & great summary!
Excellent video 😊!
Very kind of you thank you! Been a minute since I uploaded anything!
@@FeralGinger Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it
I just ordered one
may it serve you well!
Where to buy in UK?
Hey thanks for dropping by. In UK I've been stung by a few of the "popular" camera stores recently so I tend to only buy used gear through Park Cameras and they have been fantastic, not sponsored, just appreciate good service.
hi i have xt30 ii does it have play in the shutter button?
Hey thanks for commenting, my xt30 always felt like there was a small amount of take-up/play in the shutter but very minimal
Any link for the thumb grip?

This was the one, I ended up having to win one on ebay annoyingly! Good luck!
Best build quality in Fujifilm lineup have Fuji X-H1, period.
Tbh, I'm inclined to agree, I nearly purchased one recently! Shame the XH2 went in a different direction
@@FeralGinger i still use mine, its build like a tank
Yes I have this little jem of a camera for all the reasons you said and more I love it.......898 is me I subbed you
It's SUCH a fantastic camera! What lens do you generally pair with it out of interest?
Thank you for the sub! Means a lot 🙂
23mm and 35mm F2 are my main lenses@@FeralGinger
@user-pq3oq2nq2h ahh another vote for the 23mm f2, I really should get hold of that lens!
I go for the size mainly and weather sealing I changed to Fugi because of the small form factor and good quality gear@@FeralGinger
@user-pq3oq2nq2h aye, I hear it's one of their fastest focusing lenses too, I keep thinking about picking it up at some point!
Many thx , i own xt30 and xt3
Amazing combo! What lenses do you pair with them?
100 400
150 600
10 24
15 45 xc
Tokina m42 2,8 28 mm
Russian helios 44 2/58
@joopspijker57 ohhh I used to have the Helios, I regret getting rid of that one!
Nice selection of zooms!
i am thinking to buy a second hand x h2 ..
Ahh I'm wanting one too, I'm just waiting to see if any surprises come out of the XSummit next week!@@joopspijker57
To be fair, a smaller camera is not the best idea if you know you have big hands.
Beyond that, big hands are good on a man who wants to look masculine.
Oh you're absolutely right, I just like compact form cameras for some reason, is it logical? Absolutely not, are they ever comfortable? Nope hahaha
@@FeralGinger True. Lost me with the big hands. 🥳
Want lens review also pls
💪 ahh thank you! I think it would be an interesting one to do with it hitting such a good price I actually have two copies of that lens currently 😂😂😂
I think the best "budget" Fuji camera is the X-S10!
A used Xt-30 makes way more sense than a new mark 2 ! Invest in good lenses instead
Ain't that the truth, especially with the crazy fujifilm used prices!
Rosario Fields
Get ride of that noise, music
Hey, sorry you didn't like the music, I have dropped it in my latest video - thanks for the feedback!
XT50 rumours ??
maybe! I've heard the rumours too! Not sure what we'll actually get but I doubt fuji will leave the XT30 line behind for too long!
6 months later, cheapest one around is $900
The fujifilm used market is pretty stupid at this point tbh, X-H1 is looking to be a MUCH better bargain is size isn't an issue!
