    It’s crazy but i spent 70$ on a bike china motor like this and could never get it going because it was never sent with instructions or a wiring diagram. This video just opened up everything for me thank you thank you!

    White wire = 6 volts AC, 500mA. Send it through a rectifier & charge a battery for your lights. If you limit the current to 100mA, your spark won't notice it. Ride during the day and your light battery will charge. A bit of electronics knowledge will come in handy, here.

  • @diydarkmatter
    @diydarkmatter 2 года назад +46

    not to argue or anything buddy but i used the white wire to run the lights on my old bike and they worked fine and never had any problems with it running . everyone says it robs power and it might but i would love to see some real proof of it . and not to mention that even if you dint use it why cut it off . its a great back up wire if something should happen to the blue wire . stick rips it in half or what ever . then the white wire could take its place . i even think you could run a 6volt to 12 volt dc step up converter to charge a battery if you wanted to . not arguing just kinda would like to see some real proof it robs power .

    • @HughesMotorized
      @HughesMotorized  2 года назад +18

      All good. Nothing wrong w/ a little debate or "prove it". My thinking is: Bottom line is you only have so much current off the loop. I'd rather have it for the spark. Also rather not have the wire hanging and short out causing the engine to die. I'm frequently wrong so there's that too

    • @shawnlegare6714
      @shawnlegare6714 2 года назад +2

      yeah it robs some power if you got a 12v Led light attach to it "Because i didnt know it was 6V" when she was On the engine will makes some efforts to starts but by the sound in the exhaust you will figure it out than some sparks missing the Pop Pop will be quieter than usual .. i got an expansion chamber without baffle ... its really easy to know when the sparks aint good .. You will be able to hear people talk if the" lightswitch" Off OOHH GAWD DAMM everybody in town will know where you at 😂😂

    • @diydarkmatter
      @diydarkmatter 2 года назад +2

      @@shawnlegare6714 ok that makes sense . i used 6 volt lights 12 volt lights were just to dim to use . but the 6 volt ones did ok . i would still like to know if a 6v to 12 volt step up converter would work . im sure it would but you still might get that drain . when i was using the lights the 12 volt light i had came in a antique Schwinn bullet light that a 6 volt and a 12 volt light bulb. ran fine with the 6 volt and like i said i never really used the 12 volt cause it was so dim you could not see anything . it would be nice if they got rid of the magneto and started using a regular stator . bring it up to a 12 volt system . thanks for your comment buddy . working out a good electrical system for the china doll is a pain but there are a couple ways . you could use a 12 volt bike wheel generator to a blocking diode or regulator then to a battery or use a electric bike 3 phase hub motor . ive seen i think it was build break and fix use two magnetos . just a good redesign of the mag casing make it a little bigger and it would hold a stator . shame that cant figure that out . thanks again for your info and take care buddy

      Agree totally. In many States to be road legal a headlight must be on 24/7. Seems the wire can maintain charge in a small 12 bolt or lithium battery.

    hmm.... because I do believe this magneto puts out 6v AC power it would explain why lights hooked up to it blink as there would be power then drain then power and so on unless you used halogen light bulbs which can run on AC power. drain from the spark asied ( let's assume it doesn't matter, which obviously it does) if one were to hook up low voltage led's and switches perhaps it could work for turn signals as led's can give a decent amount of light with little voltage and will automatically blink on this setup because they require DC power, so they will blink when a switch is pressed and the circuit of 6v of AC power runs to them. of course you got four lights in total so voltage on each will have to be low and you may still have to upgrade to a 12v magneto if you get power drain for the spark. However, one would have to keep in mind this would only be when signalling left or right so they won'tbe running constant. just a thought on this pretty much worthless electronic system comming off the magneto. one could maybe use a Tesla coil (which require DC power) off a battery in place of the regular coil to provide the spark of course then you need to make a timing setup which would be hard. hmmm I like the initial concept they had but even me not being much of an electrician knows this system is pretty hard and likely pointless to do anything significant with.

    Greetings my friend. I would like to ask you some questions for the 2 stroke motorized bicycles kit. I already have one for years. It has a magnet coil wich produce 6 volts through the white wire. I have put some led bulbs, at the front and the rear of the bicycle, which works between 6-24volts. With more volt power (than the 6 i have), they produce more light. I have tried to work them with an after market magneto coil, which produce 12 volts (indeed- i have mesure it) but does not produce much watts(or ampere) to light good the lights. If i buy the 12volts mini generator (like this in your video with title "80cc 2-Stroke Motorized Bike Build EP8 - Generator Installation" ), can i connect directly the cable to the lighting wire? I do not want to put batteries etc.

      there is a fellow here on RUclips that's selling alternator kits designed for these blocks. it's essentially a modified scooter alternator modified to mount to your bike that runs on a belt which connects to a pulley that's threaded into the bevel gear, (of course you do have to drill a hole in your cover but whatever), then you can simply attach a small 12v battery off of that baby and Bing all kinds of electronic power, usb ports, stereo, headlight, blinkers, horn, a mini freezer cooler on the rack on the back 😉, whatever you can think of that can run on 12volt, perfect for electric air pump when needed wherever. I will see if I can find the link to the video. He is selling them.

Made that light blink like a freakn DISCO! MAN that was cool af. And the motor didn't do a damn thing, absolutely NOTHING. SO I disconnected the ground from the light. No disco?! And no fire! I was like Oh Sht! I fries the cdi.. ☹️
