    I started out with the BT80. It's a shame the cylinder design has such insufficient cooling, because it really is a great quality motor overall. The high cylinder temp combined with the very short intake almost guaranteed it would vapor lock and stall on a hot day. I managed to reduce the heat a little by retarding timing, and running a thicker oil mix (25:1). Replacement cylinders were almost always out of stock, so I just gave up on it and replaced it with a generic 66/80cc that I ported and converted to case reed. It's more powerful than the BT80 and much more reliable, but I miss having the stator to keep my battery charged for my lights and accessories (just manually charge every couple of rides).

    Good video bro and you’re right a lot of these are just a stock kit with an upgrade they’re not performance and that head that they’re selling with. It is junk I agree.

    Im looking at the ebay engines im debating on an 80cc vs a 100cc the 80cc has an nt carburator and the 100cc has the carburator with the red rectangular cover im curious if there is any difference in those carburators and im also curious if i will see any amount of performance increase with the extra 20cc and if so how much 20cc difference? Any info if you have it would be greatly appreciated

    Great video, and thanks for the feedback! I actually purchased the Wildcat Plus Upgraded Ported PK80. Cylinder is ported as described, and the magnet is very strong. Did notice it was hitting the coil, but a quick readjustment fixed it. Muffler is not port matched. CM shipped mine in two separate boxes to keep the rate low, so I am still waiting for the 2nd one to arrive. Very eager here.

    I have a Zeda 100. The 1st cylinder and piston broke. The piston pin retainer c clip snapped and got stuck between the piston and cylinder wall. I have replaced the cylinder and bought a windowed piston with a different type of c clip. I also put a reed valve and upgraded carb. It's been running really good. I live in a area with lots of hills.

    I heard a phantom 85 top end will fit on a cheap $80 USD 49mm iron sleeve bottom end. So about $180 for a ghetto phantom without the exhaust pipe.

    I've been building these kits for about 20 years. I started when these were coming from China with a lot of the Russian part in the beginning. The only kid that was ever truthful was the 50cc or 48cc in truth. The 66/80 I never understood, and they always put cc after like it was an 80cc engine. I've looked at all the 100cc kits there still 66cc. They've gotten away with it for over 20 years.

      In the west, the volume of a cylinder is calculated by using the formula Volume = Pi x Radius Squared x Stroke. However, in the east the displacement of an engine includes the area of the cylinder head's combustion chamber as well as the volume of the cylinder. Therein lies a discrepancy between measuring standards by the manufactures in China with those in the United States. However, all "100cc" engine kits on the market today are actually 78.6cc in displacement size if measuring by US standards.

    There is absolutely no point to buy that kind of motor that is over 50cc. It is just bicycle motor, 50cc is more than enough.

    a 50cc will top out at 35mph with 36t sprocket so paying 200 dollars more for an extra 5mph with a bigger motor aint worth it to me

    • @breezetixmoto
      @breezetixmoto 5 месяцев назад

      just port it, upgrade carb and pipe etc and you'll get extra 10mph or more

    • @randyrhodes9124
      @randyrhodes9124 5 месяцев назад +1

      not gonna risk fucking up the cylinder tryna port it and i doubt a carb does anything to improve speed the only upgrades that make any difference is removing the exaust cap and air box maybe a smaller sprocket

    • @breezetixmoto
      @breezetixmoto 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@randyrhodes9124 you'll be fine, just keep a steady hand and go slow. you're going to want to clean up the ports anyway because of flakes that can fall off the lips and ruin the cylinder. u can just match the case ports, match the exhaust ports, intake etc. for better airflow. if you have a 2 piece cylinder, you can replace the head with a high compression head, should help with more compression aka more power (and better cooling supposedly). it's definitely worth it though. and yes upgrading carb should help, it at least should help with performance (higher rpm etc). if you mess up the cylinder, oh well, it's like $30 for a replacement (i believe its a full kit, including piston, wrist pin, bearing, etc)

    • @randyrhodes9124
      @randyrhodes9124 5 месяцев назад +1

      i put a 40t sprocket on it and got it to 34mph so i was thinking maybe a 36t would get me to 37 38mph?

    • @breezetixmoto
      @breezetixmoto 5 месяцев назад

      @@randyrhodes9124 it should get you up to about 40mph. 32t might give you a bit more speed however it's definitely overgearing, you lose some torque, but it worked fine for me on my minarelli 26in wheels. 40mph 9krpm on 40t, 45 on 36, 50+ on 32, for me. could easily still climb up hills at about 40mph+

    Ive been building them for yrs, the only upgrade you need to double the Speed is use any chainsaw plug tho its alot shorter,my last one ran 28mph max but just by using a chainsaw plug it ran 60mph,I know people don't believe it can make that much a difference but it really does.also bike berry sux,poor customer service and, my 900 engine ready bike, frame pushed the frame mounted engine mounted thru the frame and broke into in 8 day, with a yr warranty they never made it up.
