    So proud of you I did this kind of work 39 years ago when I built my cottage in northern Ontario Canada don’t feel bad jay for a couple of leaks you did much better than I did back in the day I had water leaking everywhere in the house so at the time my wife had to mark every hose with a marker p.s. Another note you may want to add an accumulator to regulate the pressure and ease the pump. We connect our pump to a harbor freight solar battery and use a trickle charge solar panel to keep it charged.

I know you were sweating those for sure! Now, get those drains run away from the house, get the shower finished as far as the head and the pipe to the wall, Fix those few leaks and then sit back and take a break for a day or two, you deserve it!

    Proud of you mate. Cracking job. I did lot of copper work on our house. Never seen the plastic pipe work.Seems a good solid way to do it.Those clips if you put a flat screw driver in the crimped area . and twist you can undo them. I repair domestic appliances. some washing machines have them on. I have a special tool to do them. but a screw driver usualy works better. LOL.

    gray water can be used on gardens but don't use chemicals in the drainage ... use organic such type that is safer. If there is a leak in the 12V water pump system... even slow ... it will cause the pump to cycle with things off...

    Consider a residential 4 gallon pressure tank. These should be mounted inside or well insulated ... This way, the pump doesn't run every time you open the valve. It will build pressure and you can use some for a while before the pump turns on. It made a big difference in my 12V radio shack set up. Here is just a sample and you can pick them up reasonable priced at a hardware/depo/etc. type place. They come in different configurations ... WaterWorker HT-4B Water Worker Vertical Pre-Charged Well Tank, 4 Gal, 3/4 in Mnpt, 100 Psi

    Why not put that pump and filters under a kitchen sink? That way you could hook up a 5gal jug in the winter and still have water.

    • @OffgridwithJayandJen
      @OffgridwithJayandJen  Год назад +1

      That is not a bad idea, maybe I can hook up a back up system for the winter like that. The main reason it is not set up there is because those pumps don't pull water up so the tank has to be above the pump and also the noise. Where it is located now it can barely be heard, but under that sink it would be very loud and disruptive
