This makes me feel nice knowing the there is still some quality being built out of Detroit, take a car from the 60-70 era you would have had to rebuild everything twice. By the way I have a 2013 race red and plan on keeping mine forever.
It could be argued, a classic in new condition would have fewer problems vs a new gt500 etc. Newer is better, but not always more reliable (more features= more to break).

These engines are much stronger than their non-boosted variants, think 5.0l coyote. The Ford and Shelby unison developed a sensation. 486 horsepower and foot pounds of torque at the wheels with 182k miles! Around 552hp and torque at the crank. I guess when these cars were rated they were rating them with high mileage numbers. . .
Or this just makes the same power low mile cars do? It's not like cars mysteriously lose 20% of their power because they have 180k. If the thing is well maintained as it clearly has been it isn't shocking for it to make the same power any other stock 12 gt500 would make.
Look how fast technology has progressed in the past few years... with a new gen n/a 5.0 you get almost same horsepower from factory. Tune, e85 ,headers and exhaust they lay down over 500whp, that's just insane for a na motor that size
It's nowhere near this power. They do 415-430 this thing did damn near 490 and has way more torque than a 5.0 could ever dream of. With bolt ons these can hit 600 wheel pretty easy even with the old out of date tiny stock blower and super low compression these cars had.
5.0 guys always talk hp but never mention torque why is that? Maybe because they don't make much? Yea 500 wheel and 400 tq meanwhile a 12 gt500 with bolt ons van do 600/600. These things are sleeping giants just waiting to be unleashed.

Is it me or when he says “ let’s pull it up “ he looks like he is doing something on the computer. But does nothing at all. The screen doesn’t change at all. And he is moving his hands like it was.
Cobra GT500 and San Antonio Spurs. What a brother. 👍
But are the motor and super charger original?
Yessir :)
Not a garage queen, that’s for sure
One word ....IMPRESSIVE!
That stang was cared for. It was a good buy
Nice stang all those miles and still running strong. Great shape also.
I bought a 2007 gt500 with 120k miles last year for $14k. Was a great solid car.
First I've ever seen anyone get one less than I got mine for lol. In May 2020 I got my 07 with 108k clean title and tasteful bolt ons for 16500. Congrats you got me beat that is the lowest price gt500 I've ever seen lol. The driveline is worth over 10k lol.
Getting his money out of that thing. Id do the same thing if i had a GT500
At 12 percent drive train loss it didnt really lose any power over all the miles thats amazing.
Hope they had a catch can for those 182k miles
That thing must've been pretty damn well maintained to keep so much power after so many miles and years. Good owner(s).
Not sure why people think mileage lowers horsepower. If the vehicle is running as it should the power will be there.
Where can I fine a video of the slim guy with his shirt off?
186k miles and running strong wow FORD y'all did it. Lol
My 07 Ford explorer has 220,000 miles original engine and trans.👍
08 Mustang GT heavily modded, 203k miles and I drive it hard every day
@@SangheiliSpecOp nice! 👍
@@SangheiliSpecOp what kind of oil do you use?
@@fredwilliams7893 I use conventional or semi synthetic 5w 30 oil. Ford specified 20 weight for the 4.6 for emissions but engineers and other Mustang owners generally recommend 30 weight for this engine. I don't use full synthetic only because it's expensive and my car burns some oil on start up which is somewhat normal lol
I have a 93 lx 5.0 with only 81k miles on it. 81,940 to be exact.
It didn't lose any power at all. Taking into account the standard 15% drivetrain loss. Its actually making about 10 ponies the over advertised 550.
This is what happens when a responsible car owner knows how to take care of a car. And doesn't rev it to death like the other GT 500 owners that posted their videos on RUclips.
Reving an engine.....gotta love it. Engines are designed to have a load on them. Whatever keeps the dealer techs busy I guess.
I saw this car advertised for sale!
Just picked up an 08 GT500 with 3843 on it, I wanna put some miles on it but not 182,000 lol. Have fun and be safe
Cherish her! Hope she wasnt to wallet denting 🤞
@@farley9255 It was a little, lol. But this was definitely a dream car for me and very worth it!
Now that’s a dream car - that look was sooooo popular when it came out, Stang owners actually bought the body parts necessary to make their s197 ponies look like GT500’s - Ford Racing sold the body pieces in their catalog! Any Shelby is a great find! Congrats and enjoy!
2007-2009 very cheap these days
@@mach183 how cheap? Might look into buying after I pay off the truck
What a beast going strong. 2011-2012 GT500s has a special place in my heart even though the '13s are the best because 662hp
Nah. Modded 2011-2012 are best
2011-12 is a better build .
@@jrforsythe4144 i agree for the money they are. Obviously id take a 13 if price was equal but it isn't theyre on average 10-15k more and with the stupid gearing the 13s have theyre not even that much quicker for the power they make. Put the same blower on both cars and power is comparable.
HELL YEAHHHHH!!!!!!!Keep them wheels spinning!!!!🔥🔥🔥😂😂😂😂😂
This makes me feel nice knowing the there is still some quality being built out of Detroit, take a car from the 60-70 era you would have had to rebuild everything twice. By the way I have a 2013 race red and plan on keeping mine forever.
It could be argued, a classic in new condition would have fewer problems vs a new gt500 etc. Newer is better, but not always more reliable (more features= more to break).
Idk new or old what I do know is a '67 that breaks down on the side of the road can be fixed in 20 min with basic tools as opposed to any new car
@Marc Z these are pretty easy to work on actually and they're very reliable if taken care of.
@@guitarman376 These are solid as hell and very reliable if taken care of.
Damn and here I'm worried about my 03 cobra hitting 72K miles....
If your keep the miles low for resale value i can understand it but why buy it if you just gunna let it sit Mice and animals will ruin things gas goes bad tires get flat spots drive them like ya stole them and live the dream you only live once
@@jeffrogge1999 I'm mainly keeping it decently low mileage just in case I sell it later on. It's a weekend toy for now.
@crim It's always been a dream car for me since I was young. It puts a smile on my face every time I get behind the wheel but sometimes I just want something else lol
Great looking car for those miles! A paint correction would really make the car pop, good luck with it!
If he likes to go around corners he should have got a C5 Z06 with super LOW miles for that same $18k he paid for the Mustang with high miles. After a bunch of work it will still struggle to get the lap times of a stock C5 Z06.
Gotta love how many of you are worried about his resale value. Many people like me don't buy vehicles with the thought of reselling them.
Crazy to see how it hasn't lost any power over 182k miles
Awesome that it has that many miles if you keep them maintained and mostly stock they are bullit proof
180k+ miles goodness gracious
That's crazy ! My 06 ranger has 80k on it, Its going to take another 15 years to hit 180K
Dope spurs hat!
