Hey Hoovie, FYI that is definitely not a factory suspension. The blue parts (lowering springs and sway bars) are Ford Performance aftermarket parts. The panhard bar appears to be Steeda and is adjustable to make up for axle moving slightly as a result of the lowering. The shocks/struts are red and that has me thinking they might be Pedders units. All in all, not a bad setup. Change out those bushings and the motor mounts and consider some rear control arm relocation brackets and maybe even new rear lower control arms and you will have a good handling setup that launches well with all that power…pretty good for that car for not much money.
The blue springs are probably Roush or Ford Performance. I’d put Bilstein shocks and struts on it. Those are great and were used on the 03-04 Cobra Terminators from the factory.

@@FarmerDrewdrilled and slotted rotors only help with cooling, which 99% of people don't need. Drilled and slotted have less surface area and are worse for stopping distance. For better Braking distance, you need bigger rotors and pads, and good tires to handle the traction demand.

DONT USE THE GREEN GATES! They will squeal more than the basic belts. Ive owned 12 Cobras and several times had that issue and green belts always made it worse. Gates makes an RPM series belt for high HP blown engines and they work great!
I see plenty of mustangs here in Cali with over 200k miles. Same for f150’s with the 4.6 engine etc. I think it comes down to owners and where you live (snow).
As someone who has never owned a rwd vehicle with IRS, I call BS on the solid axle alone being the issue. In every video of the mustangs going crowd munching, I see that it is usually driver error that is the cause. They don’t have good throttle control.
I agree with wizard about younger people about old cars. I'm 31 and I loooove older vehicles. Especially carburetor versions. Yes newer vehicles are easier to bolt on power and tune. But the real magic comes to older vehicles.

Love the content! As someone that has owned one for 6 years with 700whp. It’s not the solid axle that makes them crash, you can find videos of the irs gt350 crashing as well. But more the rear brakes, they are the same size as the v6 so stopping power is very weak on these cars
Switching to drilled/slotted helped a bunch
Actually it’s colliding with obstacles that makes them crash. (Probably 90% of the crashers are men I suspect)..🤔
@@FarmerDrewdrilled and slotted rotors only help with cooling, which 99% of people don't need.
Drilled and slotted have less surface area and are worse for stopping distance.
For better Braking distance, you need bigger rotors and pads, and good tires to handle the traction demand.

Glad you are on the mend Hoovie, I love that cobra.Thumbs up from Australia 🤠👍🇦🇺
Mine has 24,000 miles on it. Bought it new in 2009. Great car!
No one mentioned the last Knight Rider ( Shelby KR ) reboot 😔.
I also can't remember this TV show like the gumball rally race where two guys took a Shelby GT500 KR across the country race against an avalanche and some other cars.
The town and country is beast 💪🔥
DONT USE THE GREEN GATES! They will squeal more than the basic belts. Ive owned 12 Cobras and several times had that issue and green belts always made it worse. Gates makes an RPM series belt for high HP blown engines and they work great!
I'm happy to see you back.
Now imagine a 210,000 mile German car. Oil leaks you say...? 😂
I see plenty of mustangs here in Cali with over 200k miles. Same for f150’s with the 4.6 engine etc. I think it comes down to owners and where you live (snow).
just as i bought a high milage 09 v6 auto you come up with these videos. love the series and love this car!
As someone who has never owned a rwd vehicle with IRS, I call BS on the solid axle alone being the issue. In every video of the mustangs going crowd munching, I see that it is usually driver error that is the cause. They don’t have good throttle control.
My dad had 04 audi s4 with a tune that made to 200 ish and a vw 04 r32 that made it to 230,xxx. Glad to see others use their cars as intended
I just watched Ian Tyrell feature on the Bentley Turbo R history. And I just want to apologize but I still love the concept.
your missing the front splitter and shield. The shield would keep the front fender liner from rattling
Wizard is ruthless.😅😂 Tyler sick? Pay bill! Tyler sick and over extended? Pay bill!!!😅😂
Wizard got his own bills to pay!
Thanks for the update on the fleet... glad you are on the mend.
I agree with wizard about younger people about old cars. I'm 31 and I loooove older vehicles. Especially carburetor versions. Yes newer vehicles are easier to bolt on power and tune. But the real magic comes to older vehicles.
I'm becoming an old girl 41 this year 😳one thing i don't miss is messing with the choke on my 1983 Ford escort on a cold winter morning in 2002 just trying to get to work however if i had the money I'd happily tinker with a carburettor on a weekend toy/project 😊
@@Sophiechic your still a young woman. But, messing with the choke during winter. Is a pain in the rear.
@@kitfox1016thank you very much 😘 and you're right it is if memory serves though my brother fitted a twin webber something or other carburettor that helped a lot and put a whole new feeling to the car it felt twice as fast lol
@@Sophiechic Holley EFI in carburetor form is better.
I gave up hanging out with newer car guy's. They are mostly garage queens and you will go hang out
They constantly looking up for rain clouds if they see a couple of black clouds they will flee. Because they think rain will destroy their car plus it's cool to say my car never seen rain.
Meanwhile while I drive my 68 AMC AMX in the rain.
Love the return to classic Hoovie's Garage style!
I had a 2000 GT that I put 230k miles on it. It put a smile on my face every day.
I had a 2k gt years ago. Was an absolute pile compared to any of my other cars. Sounded ok but slow AF with an interior that started crumbling and rattling after 20k.
@@longjohn77 I am a welder by trade and I welded a full custom exhaust on my car as well as full length sub frame connectors. Between the added rigidity and the flowmasters, I didn’t hear any rattles.
Glad to see you looking better and back on it 👊
The live axle isn’t what causes the crowd crashes. It’s the independent rear that causes the snap oversteer
Tyler - I had a 2008 6-cylinder (my daughter's car) with the peeling door vinyl inserts. I had a local vinyl wrap shop strip the original vinyl and sand off the foam - then put a carbon-fiber looking wrap on it. Looked great!
Your GT500 never failed its CA smog test. One time in 2019 the monitors weren't ready but that's it. It always passed smog, most recently in 2021.
Glad to see you up and about. I hope April and Neelix are well also!
Hope Chakotay is doing OK as well! 😉
You gave wizard a heads up that you're coming and he seems way happier to see and be part of your video
Imagine seeing your GLA in a hoovies video and him going „urgh“ walking by 😂🥲
Funny, the IRS models have the same problem.
It's between the steering wheel and the seat.
I can't believe you got this for 14k, that's an insane deal. Probably the best deal on the channel in years!
Really cool Mustang, and glad you are feeling better.
I love how army veterans think they don’t need to wear a seat belt because they’re going to need to quickly exfill. We love you Wizard. Wear your seatbelt.
The fact that Wizard stores a lot of your cars for you even knowing it will be a week or longer waiting on parts before he/them can touch it again is pretty cool. And deserved!
Hoovie paying the bill is best part of the vid. 😆
