I dont know about you guys, but for us mechanics here in Germany the OCC was basically a comedy show on how to not build things. Its like watching bear grylls and expect to be a survivialist afterwards. Really you watch it because of how ridiculous it is.
I remember one time when they built a military bike and one of them walked around with a box of random military gear that he started welding to where ever there was space on the bike. Absolut prime humor.

HEy Sean when you saw the gum in the fuel lines, that is from C16 fuel all the injectors will be gummed up with that exact same stuff thats why the injector hose blew because the injector is fully clogged with C16. you can never leave C16 for any amount of time. it should be drained if you dont plan on using the bike for even a few days its that volatile
I would take the tank off. clean it out make sure no gum got in the new fuel pump. then take off the fuel rail that will need cleaning and depending how the injection is set up will either have some hose to the injector or it will go straight into the manifold. clean head to tank mate
Damn good find. how cool was that guy seeing his baby again. he obv loved that bike. and everytime you build big project bikes you leave parts of you in that bike. im sure hed love it back once you are done. or at the minim let him ride it and come visit

Then put new fuel in and run fuel pump to see fuel coming out at the fuel rail. Know for sure it's ok, then if it don't start, only thing left is spark. Which is the other thing to check. Pull plugs, replace wires due to dry rot, then try to fire it up.

I was stationed at the ANG base right on the other side of the fence from the new OCC facility for several years. When they had their 15 minutes, they went big. The facility was nice. Had their show bikes on display, a merch shop, a couple bowling lanes, and a bar and grill. 6 or 7 years ago, they sold the building and rented it back from the new owners. When I left in 2022, the building was abandoned and had a for sale sign in front of it. Not much of a market for 6-figure bikes that are barely rideable I guess.

A few T-shirts, and 45 seconds on the program. We also gave them custom build spraybooth. We were promised advertising about our facility. When we complained we were told that OCC didn't have control of the program.. We spend a years worth of advertising for 45 seconds of them presenting the bike to our owner.

I'm a sub. I'm an old bike guy and I'm a Christian. Not only am I a great fan of yours, I'm so happy to be associated (in a small way) with you and the great people you have on the channel.
I'm 68 and been on bikes since I was 14 when my brother and I bought the worst Harley every. The only thing that was good was the motor (most of the time) and he and I had to work hauling hay, mowing grass, fixing fences or anything that would help out the family and to be able to buy parts (mostly used). We were as poor as it gets, but I had a blast as a kid. Didn't know I was poor till I got to High School because everyone I knew was poor. But, my clothes were always clean, we never went hungry and we never owed money. Dad passed when I was 8 and Mom had a stroke having me so my oldest sis had to raise the rest of us (4) as a teenager. The one thing my brother and I had in common was that bike. We worked on it every day and kept our bike money in a mason jar in the hall closet. 90% of what we earned went to help the family, just like my other brother and sister, but we kept 10 % for the bike and ourselves. When I was almost 16, I rode it from Oklahoma to Sturgis (this is the old Sturgis when it was real MC's and not what it is now. Bike ran great. Only broke down 17 times going up and back. 5 less than normal. Ha. Best moment I had was when about 6 guys from the Hell's Angles peeled off from the trail of their group to help me. Nicest people I ever met. Not only did they fix my carb problem they left me with some tools that they knew I would need and did.
People don't know how cool these guys were, or how nice. This was the early 70's and because of the crap you saw on TV and in movies, that wasn't those guys. Respect them and they respect you. They didn't have to help me but they did. I'm 68 with cancer and I've told that story a million times because it's stayed with me that long. It wasn't the only time I met a HA either. Ran into one when I was 20 at a gas station in NM. These guys were patched up and the real deal. They said hi and looked at my bike (still a poor mans bike but I kept it running). They were super nice and I told them about the story of when I was younger. We got to talk a long time as they were taking a break. I learned a lot about patches and rockers and what not to do when you meet a real MC. They weren't trying to sound tough, they were doing me a favor. Respect is big for these guys.
Years later, a friend of mine bought a bike and brought it buy to show me. Not too many year back. It was before Wild Hogs, the movie came out. I remember that because when he brought his bike over he brought his new leathers including his jacket with upper and lower rockers with Oklahoma and Born to raise Hell and to top it off, he had a 1% diamond on. I explained how bad of an idea this was for him to EVER have it on in public. Ha.
Went too far, but I always do with bikes. Finished completely hand restoring a 1975 Honda CB 360T. Not a inch of that bike was touched by other than me. About a truck load of 0000 and new mods.
I love the people that work on them. It takes more than people think. They're like Swiss watches. Every part has to work perfectly.

Not a bike guy. I came out of morbid curiosity about OCC. As a watch nerd, I LOVED they mystery box.

good on you for sharing a bit of the good stuff in your videos. Thank you.

I used to watch OCC with my dad years ago. He was a disabled Vietnam Vet, and he loved the POW-MIA bike. I bought him the dvd of that episode and bought him the small scale model of that bike.
I noticed the 101st Airbourn flag in the background. I used to work in a shoppette on Ft. Campbell, Kentucky.

I had the model of the POW-MIA bike as a kid, lol. Thanks for triggering some good memories, stranger. 💪🏼💪🏼

These themed bikes were built merely for TV & large corporations that wanted the PR on the show & then to have it sit at their HQ in the lobby. It’s funny because I was young when I used to watch the show (I really liked it back then) & thought these bikes were so cool & good quality. Little did I know. 😂🤣
