Funny commercial, lol!
Is that an orange Puch Maxi S i see in the background?
We love fishing....is one of the players actually you?? The Bearded Fisherman......
How many of those injectors are FAKE - just for looks?
"These things were built on broken chairs" was a great line
The broken chairs lean better
When you wanna just sit down and cry but....
That should be a tee shirt slogan in the OCC merchandise shop 🤣
A collection of trashy un rideable bikes across the country is your legacy...wow.😢
Sean literally had the guy who originally worked on/tuned the bike walk up to him when it was delivered. The guy even offered to buy it and/or work on it and Sean said "thanks but I'm taking it to my guy who has never seen it before." We never heard anything about that guy after that. Craig can do wonders but Sean had THE guy within the first 10 minutes of the bike being delivered to his facilities and said nope.
that guy probably didnt have anything to offer the channel unlike the WLA/Wheels through time collab. Less chairs would have been lost.
Considering the bike doesn’t run and never had ran the guy who built it may not be the best choice now would he ? He basically pooped his pants and you wanna feed him more ice cream
@@earljohnson2676 it's basically the old adage about whether you ask the guy who put the bus in the ditch to get it back out.
@@earljohnson2676 Except it did run and the guy even showed Sean videos of him riding it. He was literally one of the only people who ever rode it. Then it sat for years. The guy knew everything about the ridiculous mechanics of the supercharger and tune of the bike so yeah he would be the best choice. He didn't build it--OCC did. The bike went to the guy to actually get it running. Not sure why people are commenting when they clearly don't even know the backstory.
Because its the innerweb filled with morons
I'm an old disabled gearhead (78) and I watch videos like this for the repartee of the fellows working together. This mechanic here reminds me of my dear friend Dave Stewart and the thousands of hours we spent together. Thank you. Ya couldn't buy me a better gift with $10,000.
I'm happy that you get that much out of watching this channel, sounds like you lived a pretty good life if you got to work on cars with a good friend
A friend and myself painted the Mrs. Geico boat a few times. We saw this bike while down in Florida at the boating facility, buffing and putting the final touches on the boat. I was told then that someone had been allowed to drive the bike, ran it out of fuel and put regular pump gas in it. The engine overheated and he had to be towed back to the shop. That was back in 2019. So that bike was screwed up long before your friend got it. My buddy actually has 2 of the Mrs. Geico watches also. It was part of the deal for us painting the boat.
Craig thanks for working my bike I need it in tip Top shape, I got big things planned for it
Could you maybe, put it in boxes, several boxes, and ship those boxes separately to the far corners of the earth so nobody ever recreates this abomination again?
I would see what kind of return policy orange county has😂😂😂
Can't wait for your road trip across the US on that thing. 😁

I actually saw this bike in person. I worked for GEICO, and they brought to my regional office.
The fuel injector on the blower is to cool the blower, and cool the charge. Same reason they run fuel through the blower on top fuel engines.
THAT BLACK SUT OVER THE EXHAUST! TOLD ME ALL I NEED TO KNOW YOUR RUNNING THAT BIKE THE SAME WAY I LOVE MY WOMEN! *RICH AN RETARDED! LOL* *GBYAA!!!!!!!!!!!!*
I'm not mechanically inclined, but basically they're water-cooling the blower with the fuel, correct?
@@WyattWeadge the fuel lowers the air temp. Lower temperature air is more dense. Higher density means you're getting more air for the same amount of compression, so it produces more horsepower.
@@deelowe3 Thanks!
This was exactly the comment I came to look for after hearing him wonder about that injector. Thank you!
"If it works, it's improved." Truer words were never spoken.
8:33 the reason it has that extra injector is because the fuel itself is the lubricant, cooling & the seal for the supercharger
Also cools the intake charge under boost.
Especially on methanol....it will literally build up condensation on the blower.
E85 is a good fuel for that type of setup. Just has to be tuned properly for the fuel you’re running.
@@ryurc3033 Yeah, like those Dragster cars that do not have an actual cooling system for their engines. The super chargers actually get freezing cold and even build up ice on those cars. Awesome physics at work there.

"I remember being in college, watching you build this bike, like this is cool. Now I'm getting to work on the bike like this is cool" quote of the century 😎 I love you so much buddy
The third injector should be acting as intake charge cooling, roots put out a ton of heat so the most efficient cooling method is usually pre-charge injection.
Makes me wonder what kind of fuel it's supposed to run
@@shouldabeenaborted I think it supposed to run race gas
Edit: watching the Bikes and Beard video again, it was tuned on VP Racing C16 leaded race gas.
@@littlewicky1 yeah I spoke too soon. I just saw the end of this video and saw him use the race gas.

You guys have a Huge amount of patience. I am not a wrench turner for all the very reasons you ran into. My hats off to you. I am interested is seeing your final results.
Craig: it doesn't have to go to a starter shop to switch that button. That five-sided section is literally the starter solenoid. All that button does is push directly on the solenoid plunger, bypassing the electromagnet that would usually thrust it forward. Stick the output shaft into a hole in your bench or simply open the jaws on a bench vise, letting the shaft extend while supporting the starter with that cover pointing straight up. That part is important until you know how those things Nippon Denso starters are built. Keeping it cap-up prevents you from loosing a ball bearing and one (possibly two) springs. Remove the screws from the corner of the cap, holding slight pressure to the cap (spring, remember?). Lift the cap and remove. Install the new cap. This is literally a three-minute panel swap.
While you have the starter solenoid open, inspect the two contacts (the two weird-shaped copper contacts) for pitting and scarring; polish if necessary) and the contact disk mounted around the plunger (again, polish if necessary). The only failures for Nippon Denso starters are these contacts and eventually wearing out the brushes. Things are immortal. In fact, you could probably polish the armature and commutator in the "bad" one, slap in a new brush rack, and your grandkids will be passing it on to their own kids.
Yup. These things have been around forever. If you're old school like me, there's even a little lever version for the solenoid on shovels. Or go really old old school and use a bent hacksaw blade.
Had to put one on my neighbors evo fatboy. We changed out the over riding starter clutch. But he pulled an occ move & tried to install the starter with a rubber mallet. Tore the terminal off the starter. Good thing i had a manual over ride kit. Now he gets to reach his thumb around a hot exhaust pipe to start it.
“Stare at the elbows” Damn Craig teaching me about bikes and life. Lots of respect from Canada !
Still it's great to see you work things out exactly like I was taught to do. I enjoyed the video very much. Thanks Again looking forward to the rest on this bike.

From watching the show as a kid to now seeing this guy take his time to be a better craftsman in his airtight shop in PA then any of the tuttles ever did is pretty neat. Dude aint affraid to murder his hands to make sure its done right
You know that saying "never meet your heroes" I think that it also applies to owning an OOC bike especially a custom one that was never designed to be a daily rider.
Jason Poole is probably guilty of this contraption. WHY, would they hire a guy, who knows ZERO about motorcycles, to design motorcycles? Unbelievable.
Another one to one scale model. Like most show cars built today.
This is great! I love how your agony is followed by solutions at each step!
34.04.... it's alive. You 2 are the best together on this video. This is my first video on your channel. Thanks for your beautiful mind. DAN, the camera person is perfect co-play.😊 Take care. It was like I'm there. I want to throw that chair also. 😂
That starter button is a simple install, I have one on my 1340 EVO has been on there for 20 years. It just replaces the cover. We used to just drill a hole in the cover and drive a screwdriver in it to start if a bike had wiring issues, or steal them.
So, you admit to being a bike thief. Got it.
@@micksterboone4517 yup. No one knows who he is. Or if hes telling the truth. So yup.
Its not that easy. On top of the starter is a solenoid. By pushing it the startes runs. But without ignition the engine will not start ;-)

The third injector is likely for two reasons;
1. They used smaller injectors on the heads to get good drivability and fuel control and the third injector for additional fuel under boost.
2. Being pre supercharger it acts as an air cooling agent when injected into the roots/screws due to the absence of a cooler.

World's thirstiest linisher . . . : )
This whole video EXACTLY confirms every word Jay Leno said about OCC bikes. I thought he was just exaggerating. I had no idea he was spot on.
Yep. They keep fiddling with stuff to try and get it running as it is. First thing they really should do is pull the engine and rebuild it with lower compression and a better setup for the supercharger. Doubtful it’d make the power that was sometimes claimed, but would at least make it not need race fuel to barely work.
Junk that's why what was 250k to be built can be bought for less than 10k
@@keithbelz2952 yeah they're definitely not 6 figure bikes, but the buyers of OCC bikes aren't really buying a bike for 6 figures. They were buying a marketing opportunity to be highlighted on the show, and the bike is essentially like a gift bag that they can take with them and display at their offices.
These bikes aren't built for riders, and they're not really the product either.

Years ago I worked in a Yamaha Sales & Service Shop. We had a great Mechanic. Very calm, and methodical. He could figure out how to get anything running. Everything but computer gack. He just cut it out completely and worked around it. Would say, "I'm a mechanic, not a computer scientist." Sometimes, he would get frustrsted and then it was time for a break. The Miss Geico turbine boats were incredible engineering and performing marvels, it's kind of sacrilegious to build a pos like that and have it tied to the Miss Geico name in any way. If the Miss Geico race team had built this bike, it would go 200+ mph, and not be a living room ornament.
13:56 Adjustable throttle position sensors like that usually have metal sleeves in the adjustment holes so that when you are tightening down the bolts it gives it something to clamp to instead of just the compressible plastic. I imagine that is why it keeps moving.

The injector on the super charger. My guess from having built a couple supercharged projects. Engine runs normally on the injectors in the engine. The injector in the supercharger adds the needed extra fueling for conditions when the engine is getting boost. Probably regulated by a built in map sensor. Bolt on..... no tuning required to the engine fueling.
I'm guessing Craig never had a vehicle with a hpfp
This one here Craig. We use them with the jb4 tuner on my cars twin turbo platform.
I'm guessing that is the case too, especially if it's bolt on. Rather than tune and size the primary injectors, just leave the stock ones in and have a separate one for boost.
Seeing how it's blowing black smoke they definitely didn't know how to tune it in the first place!
I remember them saying they used nitromethane or sth like this. Even ethanol or methanol need extra injectors to compensate for energy density. Similar to a carbs powerjet
Would a fuel injector on the superchrager also help cool the charge air and increase the charge density as the fuel evaporates? That might be an unintended consequential bonus rather that a primary design consideration

How did I not know about this fuel injector tool!! I have been saying for years something like this need to be made! Thank you Craig I would have never found out about it had you not shown it.
Yeah, I'm going to have to find this one. They make expensive 4 or more injector cycle/clean systems but this one is pretty simple. I made a setup of my own to cycle the injector and spray cleaner but it's a pain to swap injectors and the cleaner spray tube wants to pop out of the rubber hose it's feeding into.
The “ preparation H “on a toothbrush had me absolutely in tears, Guys! If you ever do get up that way Asbury Park has reopened “the Circuit“and I am sure your eyes would be popping out of your head with some of the bikes and rods that cruise Asbury Park. Blessings guys!
If you spend enough time, and money, everything will run right. Even if it might mean to replace the engine with one that might simply work better as a supercharged motorcycle engine.
The question is: Is it worth that to the person(s) in charge?
I love the dedication you all put into it. If I took that to a motorcycle shop nearby they would tell me to leave and take the bike with me and never show up again. 😂
At least my car mechanic is a passionate guy that I trust and take my care to if I have issues that require a lift or special tools and he always explains exactly what he did to solve it and I simply love that.
