Old comment but yes it will def make more power with the same pulley setup with larger tbody and intake. These blowers (any positive displacement blower) hates inlet restrictions and will see gains with larger tbodies and the 123 jlt is known to support up to 800ish so at your power level you would see gains with the larger one imo.

BJ did an awesome job on my email tune/road data log but the last couple of months my tr7's are getting eaten up.. like the tip will burn off after 3 hard pulls. Not even getting 300 miles out of the plugs. Any ideas?? I've ran the brisk's he recommended a while back and it's the same thing. Mostly to the plugs on the left side. Thanks

Hey Perry, the intercooler up front needs to be upgraded, but the one under the blower works fine. We are actually working on that video right now, but it basically starts out with something like the VMP JLT123 kit: www.vmpperformance.com/07-12-Shelby-GT500-Custom-SCT-X4-JLT-123MM-Plasti-p/gt500jlt123pak.htm
Awesome work...REALLY dumb question. Is the gen 3 the new 2.65Liter blower? Also. If you strap the gen 3 with same exact condions on a 2013 5.8 as here how much higher would the #'s be? Do the 13,14's have that much more potential or is it just that they come with better stock blowers. Thanks guys.
Hey, the stock 13-14 blower is a 2.3l tvs, but the engine is also larger displacement and has slightly better cams. Compared to the results we've seen so far from the gen3 on 5.4l, I would expect another 30-50rwhp on a 5.8l.
I have a 2011 GT 500, it’s pretty much stock with the exception of a K&N Air filter, it looks to me like it still has the stock silencer on it though. I want to add the vmp gen3r but it will have to wait a while due to cost. My main question is in the meantime would it be a waste of money to do a pulley swap with tune and do I need to change the k&n air filter out for a JLT? Basically I know I’m eventually going to end up with a Vmp gen3r, But I want to make more power now but I don’t wanna waste a bunch of money in doing it. It’s my understanding from watching a few of these videos but if I do the pulley swap with a tune and the cold air intake with a catless Exhaust system I should then be somewhere close to 600 rwhp?
Hi James! We have a few different options available for the GT500, including pulley/tune power packs. Depending on which you select, the JLT will be reusable with your eventual upgrade to the Gen3R. An example would be our Pulley/X4/Tune/Idler/JLT package for the 07-12 GT500. That'll net you a healthy gain close to your stated 600rwhp figure and the JLT will be functional with the eventual Gen3R upgrade.
I'm really considering going VMP gen 3 for my 2011. But I'm very hesitant on it because of the stock bottom end. Have you ever had any catastrophic failures with this set-up?
We have made good power on a lot of stock short blocks with this combo. Andrew from Mustang Lifestyle has our Gen3R on his GT500 and is making good power with it. With good gas and a good tune you can be safe on a stock engine but there is no true way to tell if or when your engine may let go.
@@VMPPerformanceTV I like the deal. Ive had various tuners tell me the 5.4's generally give way bottom end wise at around 700+ I wouldn't mind taking leap of faith if the blocks weren't in short supply these days ☹️
@@robertmcdonough2203 you just gotta make sure you use the best fuel/tune available and you should be fine at 700 wheel. Trying to be too aggressive for the fuel ran is many times what causes failure and another thing on these engines is rpm. Just keep it under 6200 you should be fine from what ive heard. Rpms kill these motors quicker than all out power does so just be careful there and run good fuel and tuning and you should be good

Well, obviously exhaust in all different phases (axle backs, then full exhaust change with x pipe, then headers). I have that same exact car, but a convertible. Side note... You guys made a lot more HP with a basically stock 5.0 coyote. ???
Yea a coyote with 11:1 compression, alot more rpm and alot better fuel sure. It ain't that hard to make big power when you have a high compression and variable cam timing and 8000 rpm to help you out. That was car also had a full exhaust too which is a good difference at this flow level and power level.
Yes the entire car is stock including the full exhaust. It has a bigger heater changer plus the blower head unit itself along with intake and throttle body, injectors. The powdered forged rods aren't as good as the Rods that came in the 03-04 cobra but they're still pretty stout for stock these things have made up to 800+ rwhp on stock bottom ends many many times some even higher even when racing the car. They aren't quite made of glass like some would have you to beleive.

Thanks
Hey, please reach out to us in a support ticket with a picture of the plugs.
what would you suggest in mods to make the car streetable and be able to handle vettes and hellcats and maybe nissans little v6 monster i have a 10gt500 would you make a do it your selfer vid on blower and fuel pump changes LASTLY would a intercooler improve performance enough to warrent changing tyvm
Hey Perry, the intercooler up front needs to be upgraded, but the one under the blower works fine. We are actually working on that video right now, but it basically starts out with something like the VMP JLT123 kit: www.vmpperformance.com/07-12-Shelby-GT500-Custom-SCT-X4-JLT-123MM-Plasti-p/gt500jlt123pak.htm
american racing headers with a nice cat back
Awesome work...REALLY dumb question. Is the gen 3 the new 2.65Liter blower? Also. If you strap the gen 3 with same exact condions on a 2013 5.8 as here how much higher would the #'s be? Do the 13,14's have that much more potential or is it just that they come with better stock blowers. Thanks guys.
Don Johnson yes it's the new 2.65
Hey, the stock 13-14 blower is a 2.3l tvs, but the engine is also larger displacement and has slightly better cams. Compared to the results we've seen so far from the gen3 on 5.4l, I would expect another 30-50rwhp on a 5.8l.
So the 5.8's aren't THAT much better...thanks for the response
Don Johnson there. Bigger they have better cams and I believe there heads flow better. The 5.8 is a better motor.
Thanks for all of the responses
Wonder how the Gen 3 is coming along for the Terminator....
Check out the burnout box from 3/29/18
When is the VMP ready for 2018 f150 ?
What about some octane boost or some water- methanol injection with this tuning set up other then race gas or e85

Awesome thank you. I will be in touch shortly
He next supporting mods I'd like to see is headers and a O/R X pipe or H, without a catback😎 and a bigger injector
Rpms kill these motors quicker than all out power does so just be careful there and run good fuel and tuning and you should be good
Justin it's 550 at crank not 540 😅
How much did everything cost?
Wow talk about hurting the feelings of some not all 80k demon owners
E85
Shot of giggle has?
Please let me know if you want to do a 2018 convertible roll cage install video!!😄
lets see 1000hp
Is this swap this easy on the 2014 GT500 ? I’ve heard they knock to much.
Could you list the boost numbers on the Gen2r with the 2.4, and then list or mention the boost number on the Gen3 with the 3.0 pulley please.
Hi, see the boost curves at the bottom of this image: cdn.speednik.com/wp-content/blogs.dir/1/files/2018/03/stock-2012-shelby-gt500-blasts-out-800-hp-with-gen3-tvs-blower-2018-03-21_15-28-12_323607.jpg
Long tubes, no-cat x-pipe, E85 so it can be driven as a daily with the good numbers, and return style fuel system. Has to be close to 900 with the correction factors!!!
Corn is in our future!
You can try this with Mustang cobra 2003-2004 maybe can reach 800 hp to the wheels easy.
i want to see this done with an11-14 GT
I dig how this was done on a stock engine! How about exhaust cutouts like the GT350 has?
Not a bad idea @zac
Well, obviously exhaust in all different phases (axle backs, then full exhaust change with x pipe, then headers). I have that same exact car, but a convertible.
Side note... You guys made a lot more HP with a basically stock 5.0 coyote. ???
Yea a coyote with 11:1 compression, alot more rpm and alot better fuel sure. It ain't that hard to make big power when you have a high compression and variable cam timing and 8000 rpm to help you out. That was car also had a full exhaust too which is a good difference at this flow level and power level.
2015-2017 f150 V8 5.0!!!
Full Exhaust No cat and fuel system
How much is that system ??? For complete turn key?

Does this help increase the top speed too?
Yes, more horsepower will definitely help increase the top speed.
Will the stock trans and clutch hold up?
Yes, the tr6060 is pretty stout. This car has 82k mi so the stock clutch was on the way out, we put a McLeod rxt in it.
Is this accomplished with the stock cracked power rods?
Yes the entire car is stock including the full exhaust. It has a bigger heater changer plus the blower head unit itself along with intake and throttle body, injectors. The powdered forged rods aren't as good as the Rods that came in the 03-04 cobra but they're still pretty stout for stock these things have made up to 800+ rwhp on stock bottom ends many many times some even higher even when racing the car. They aren't quite made of glass like some would have you to beleive.
Yah, how about exhaust??
