Terminator was and is likely the last true "SVT Cobra" Ford made or will make. There is no other that can compare, with that. Andrew admittedly said he bought the Bullet to beat on, and the GT500 was not really going to be anything "much" more than a show car, he could play with every now and again... Question, how is that any different from what the Terminator could offer? Is E85 kind of a bitch to get? it can be ... But, if all you are doing is showing it with the occasional run for fun, how much of an inconvenience is it really? Are GT500's nice.. Sure they are, but to a true Ford/SVT guy, the last SVT Cobra ever built holds a special place that few cars will ever achieve.
@@_carnivore_joe1520 I couldn't agree more. And E85 is no excuse. I live in NJ, a non E85 state. Yet with 93 octane gas my '03 Whipple Cobra is easily capable of 650whp and more on a stock bottom end. That puts it right up there with the GT500. And that's with an old gen 2 Whipple 2.3L blower! Hmm.. I remember the video Alejandro made talking about GT500's.. he said the 5.4's were already near maxed out, the 5.8's have more potential. I do like the 13-14 GT500 appearance tho..
All the gt500s are pretty much the same in the end once they got bolt ons and the same blower theyll all make similar power this is 07 all the way to 14. The 14 makes more power mostly because it has a stock 2.3 tvs. Throw that tvs on a 2007 gt500 youll get similar performance for ALOT less money. I prefer the 11-12 myself for the aluminum block and factory wideband and knock sensors. Throw a gen 3 like this on a 12 and its a beast for way less money all in including the blower upgrade (which will eliminate the performance gap between them). I dont get all the fuss for quad tips and all that im old fasioned give me two big tips coming out the back and im good. Quad tips almost seems ricerish to me. The 220 mph gauges is dumb too it wont even do 220 itll barely do 200 and they had to screw the gearing up just to get it to do that. I prefer the gearing on the 12. The tails are better but i dont mind the 12 tails. If i had a 12 i wouldnt be like tryin to rush and change em out. I like the matte sideskirts and rear bumper on the 12s...it is on the car where you normally have problems keeping yoir paint from getting chipped anyways like behind the rear wheel wells so that is why i like the way the 10-12s are. I like 13s i just think theyre overpriced for what you get considering an equivalent 12 is as much as 10-15 grand difference and all you really need is a blower swap to equal the playing field. Id rather have a 12 and throw a gen 3 or gen 3r blower on it and fully upgrade it with the money you aave over 13-14s. Theres alot of myths about the 13s being better than 12s when in many ways they arent ecspecially considering the price. Having a 5.8 is cool till you have to replace it theyre super expensive. Someone like Andrew who is swapping the blower anyways it makes so much more sense to go 2012 but ppl are willing to pay 10-15 grand more because the taillights are prettier and they can say they have a "5.8" lmao.
I agree 100%...10-15k is the price gap between them that is enough to get a bad ass blower, a fuel system, wheels and tires, and some suspension pieces if you do your homework and shop smart. Its fun building it too...once theyre both running the same parts power is comparable between them. To me for the money 11-12>13-14 especially if you plan to mod anyways.
In general, newer iterations of just about any car are usually better. The S197 platform, trim for trim is in every measurable sense superior to the new edge platform. Then the S550 came about and eclipsed the S197 and eventually the S650, or whatever it’s called will eclipse the S550. If you’re worried about impressing people or being the fastest guy out there you’re always going to have to upgrade cars, just the way it is. On the other hand, if the car you have is enough and gives you joy......screw everyone else. Just depends on what you want.
Well said, I agree. Get what you want and can afford, make it your own and be happy with it. I personally love the S197 platform and doubt I’ll ever leave it.
Hey,guys hows it going, I've been checking you guys out for a while now, so I have a question...I have a 4.6 2010 gt mustang and I don't have experience in working on my own car. So I found a performance shop. I trust you guys input, and like to know can a 2010-2012 Shelby GT500-Ford 5.4 Supercharger-OEM M122 Eaton blower or any kind, work on my car? I guess it's a topend kit. Thanks guys! Hope all is well
12 minutes into it you mention the terminator heat exchanger is small and the gt500 is bigger but then Justin said upgrading the gt500 is paramount. Your trying to make money selling the cobra to upgrade. Quit dissing the terminator. Low compression small this small that. Plenty of terminators fixed this that would eat a gt500 for lunch. Admit the terminator is a stepping stone and your just trying to flip it. The fact you already own a terminator you should Teksid block the car with 10.5:1 and you will see a new light
There's a few o3 and 04 cobra's in my area for sale with a lot less mods than he has with around the same miles that Andrew has on his cobra for 30k and some over that so I dont think it's his price is that bad
Its about the best bang for the buck and vmp is so right some 13s in 14s with low miles they srill want 50 and 60 grand or more. I would with 11 or 12. For rhe price to save money.
I agree 1000x over lol. I actually kinda like the 12 better anyways. 13s are nice but imo theyre overpriced. The 5.8 isnt all that the 5.4 is just as capable the better stock blower is the biggest difference once you slap a tvs on the 12 itll make comparable power. Also isnt as expensive to replace if something goes wrong 5.8 is crazy expensive. A vmp 2.3 is what 2500-3 grand brand new? And that is better than a stock trinity blower...same thing but vmps flows air better so since 11-12s are around 10-15 grand or more cheaper than 13s it is a no brainer...that leaves plenty of cash to upgrade to blower to one better than what the 13 comes with so you got almost the same car for 10+ grand cheaper.
600 is enough when the car is several hundred pounds lighter haha. I love terminators and gt500s..there is nothing old and outdated about a cobra to me theyre legendary.
The ONLY problem with a 13-14 vs the rest is gearing. Put a 3.73 in it and your good. Dont settle Andrew, get THE one you want in the color you want. The market is going to be flooded with them soon with people trading for the new one
It isnt just the rear gearing that is different the trans gearing is different too i prefer the 2012 tr6060 gearing and 373 gears. Theres another problem with the 13...they cost 10-15 grand more vs comparable 2012s. That is alot when all you need is a 2500 dollar vmp tvs and supporting mods to be more than enough to run with any bolt on 13 for alot less money. I like the 2012 alot more for the money its a better bargain. Its also the underdog and i like that...everyone assumes the 13 is so much better when it isnt. Blowerswap on a 12 and its game on. As for the brakes i dont like the larger brakes because you cant fit 15s on the rear and at this power level you need all the traction help you can get. To me the 12 is the better car for the money. You can have a car that performs just as well as 13 models for way less money (mods included). Now i get the argument most make is well you can make anything fast with enough money yada yada...true but in this case a 2012 gt500 with a 2.3 or 2.65 vmp blower is gonna be very similar to a 2013 gt500 with stock blower youd have the same car with comparable power and better gearing and the ability to run 15 inch drag wheels out back for way less money. I think the 5.4 can handle power slightly better too once both are pushed hard many others feel the same as well. Its all in what you want i just think if youre planning to mod anyways ecspecially if a blower swap is planned the 12 makes alot more sense for the money
I hope u can figure this out and keep the cobra. Because you invested in it. I miss my mustang that I traded for a new one because I had so much into it just don’t want you to make that mistake.
It sounds better and looks better on paper but in the real world with the same blower they make comparable power pulley for pulley. I dont think its worth 10-15 grand more just so it sounds better when you say 5.8 instead of 5.4 lol. It's just a bored out to the max 5.4 with the same long stroke so they both are very torqey and they both sound basically identical since it's the same thing. They both have the same ford gt heads on them which is why 5.4 makes comparable power with the same blower. If you're swapping the blower either way it makes so much more sense to go 5.4 since it's so much cheaper. They can handle power just as good if not better than the 5.8 can. Anyone who really understands gt500s know the 5.4 is just as capable as 5.8 and on max effort built motor builds they both seem to make similar power. The 5.8 just costs alot more to get there.
@@midnight347 just bought a 13 a month ago, I get what you’re saying though and understand it. To me the 13 was worth the extra money just for the slight body differences and the engine and blower for what it is. But plenty of nasty 11-12’s out there too. Either way the 11-14 Gt500 group is still gonna go down as one of fords best ever made true America muscle cars
I think your biggest issue is the fact everyone has to finance it. The people who do have that cash have a lot of options and they probably want the same thing you do if they are looking for a Mustang. I'd just do a coyote swap to your Cobra.
There is no way in hell id coyote swap an 03-04 cobra. The engine in those cars made then legendary and they sound better than any other engine on earth. Id build a high compression 5.0 stroker with cams and headwork before id swap a coyote in it. Im all for coyote swapping a gt or whatever but an 03 cobra has an amazing engine in it already no need to "swap" it.
Not a GT500 fan at all. Drove them often when I worked for Ford. Still loved driving the 03/04 Cobra hands down more than the GT500. Shelby name plate has been played out IMO, need the Cobra name plate back 😁
I've noticed you getting on your cars and trucks before they warm up that is a very bad idea...it will wear them out so much faster and you have alot higher chance of something breaking
@@17456spartan lol no they arent. Where do you guys come up with this shit? The only reason 2007s make less power stock is because theyre more restricted. Open up the intake and exhaust and swap on a tvs itll make comparable power to the almighty 13-14 for alot less money. I prefer 11-12 because of the style as well as knock sensors and widebands stock and alumimum block 5.4 but the same applies. The 10-12 makes 40-50 hp more than 07-09 because factory cold air and better tune. Thats literally the only power difference. If you put a jlt and vmp tune on an 07 and a 12 theyll make nearly identical power. Now you do the same mods on a 13 itll make more because of the stock tvs...now put that same tvs on the same 07 and 12 i just talked about and both those cars will make about the same power and itll be comparable to what the 13 gt500 has. The stock blower is alot better but once you swap that blower on an 07 it can make over 700-800 rwhp with supporting mods with that blower just like a 2013 can Ppl need to stop with the internet myths. There is a misconception that 07s are slow with less potential and that isnt the case. Theyre slower stock because theyre alot more restricted....open em up and theyre just as capable as any other gt500 if not more so.
@@17456spartan if 07s are slow how does his buddy codys 07 run 9.4s at over 150 mph with a gen3r tvs and a stock engine and t6060 trans at 3600 race weight? Clearly they must not be too slow lol. Stock iron block 5.4 with the same gen3r these 13-14s run same results and even better results than most.
How you going to say the Whipple 4.0 on the other GT500 under performed, when you go on to explain that the car was in piss poor shape, from the clutch to other issues it might be having, even possibly in the tune? id say that in all fairness, it wasn't the blower on that car that was the issue, but more than likely that it was ragged out, and possibly not even tuned right. As you said, it obviously had a bad clutch. I don't care what blower you put on a car, if it has a bad clutch, its not putting power to the ground effectively. Nice dig from Justin on the hood, and other subtle comments.. lol
He didn't say the blower was the issue he was just saying it wasn't doing anything on that car and went on to explain all the issues it had overall that was causing it to under perform. A 4 liter blower is way too much blower for any stock motor gt500 or coyote.
I can’t watch these anymore I’m sick to my stomach, as a fellow cobra owner it baffles me how someone can get rid of it.. I guess at least he’s not buying a GM ..
@@ranware2779 idk why everyone thinks the 13 is so great. I like them but i dont like the price tags on them. It amazes me ppl pay that much more for them vs a comparable 2012 gt500. Blower swap and it evens the playing field for ALOT less money. This goes for all 07 up gt500s i prefer 11-12 because aluminum block, knock sensors, wideband, nicr interior etc. The 13 is overrated. The engine is way more costly to replace should you have to and when you look at power numbers ppl make the 13s really dont much more power, if any, over an equally modded 07-12 gt500 sporting the same blower etc. The larger engine doesnt seem to help it all that much. I think it slightly lowers boost on the same pulley setup but really its mostly the blower that makes 13s have more power. I dont like the gearing on them i prefer the 12s trans gearing and the stock 373s on the svtpp. I know the 12 isnt as good stock but they cost way less and there is more than enough cash left to do a blower swap and a fuel system and make killer power on an "old' 5.4. People underestimate just how close the 5.4 is to the 5.8...its a blower swap away from being fairly close performance wise.

@@_carnivore_joe1520 😂😂 MY GUY YOU KNOW WHATS UP. #TheLastRealSVT gt500's were not manufactured by the same team. You know your stuff
A modern gen 3 would get more power and on less boost. I don't see anything boring or limiting about that! With 3.73 rear gears, my Terminator is an absolute terror on the street. In my wildest fantasy(lottery winner?) I would still keep my Cobra...probably have one for each day of the week! I do feel lucky too though, because it seems that Terminators are much rarer in my area than down south, so mine gets a lot of attention as well as competition(Mexico) from others who think it is just a regular old mustang or NA Cobra. Boy do they get a shock!! (LOL) And when I die, I won't need a coffin. They'll just bury me in my Terminator! My headstone will read..."I'll Be Back!"

Can you put an intercooler on a mustang gt500 supercharger??
It has an air to water setup from the factory. Heat exchanger up front flowing water to the intercooler in the lower manifold
@@MustangLifestyleTV hahaha thinks for the info.. I'm watching your ported gt500 video and I see exactly what your talking about! With the 2020 gt500 the heat exchanger looks a lot bigger and now that I mention it the heat exchanger on the hellcats looks substantially bigger than the older GT500.. But yea I didn't think they had one lol... I have one year before I pay off my truck and ill be buying my 2013-2014 gt500... 😀 yours is completely over the top and the drum line the cams are playing is music to my ears man!!
Cant you build more power out the cobra though ?
You tryna work for Justin again?
Hmm.. I remember the video Alejandro made talking about GT500's.. he said the 5.4's were already near maxed out, the 5.8's have more potential. I do like the 13-14 GT500 appearance tho..
he said the 13-14 5.8's were maxed out
All the gt500s are pretty much the same in the end once they got bolt ons and the same blower theyll all make similar power this is 07 all the way to 14.
There’s a few here in KC area if your looking to travel for the right one
Go for the 2011-2012 man so much better value and more room to build.
Hope all is well
I want the 13-14 gt500 too. How much you think the 2020 gt500 will cost?
Probably gonna start at 70k
Varion t80 with Dealer Markups? 100k
I love videos like this, a lot info
Dam love the sounds of the cars i got a 07 gt nice sounding car forsure
13-14 I've seen 35-55000 dollars with under 60000 miles most are 45 or 40 thousand now with lower miles
Lol try $45,000 with 5,000 miles
Get a 13/14 GT500 with VMP Gen 3 and supporting mods
YOU CAN CHANGE TO BIGGER BLOWER RUN HP IN GAS PUMP VMP 2.65 2.9 WHIPPLE
Go with 13 or 14
Your cobra is kinda quiet, Ashley’s car’s exhaust is perfect
The cobra is better tbh
People complaining about 4.6 making 600 hp, stop trying to keep up with the jones's
600 is enough when the car is several hundred pounds lighter haha. I love terminators and gt500s..there is nothing old and outdated about a cobra to me theyre legendary.
Keep the terminator and put a VMP Gen 3 on it!! KEEP THE TERMINATOR!!
Exactly problem solved!
And build the motor...
Love the cobra but that GT500 would be awesome on the channel
The ONLY problem with a 13-14 vs the rest is gearing. Put a 3.73 in it and your good. Dont settle Andrew, get THE one you want in the color you want. The market is going to be flooded with them soon with people trading for the new one
13-14 have bigger brakes and a carbon fiber driveshaft too, people forget about those features
If you're planning on modding just buy a 07- 09. 10-15 grand cheaper than a 11-12, same 1st gear ratio, iron block for durability etc
I hope u can figure this out and keep the cobra. Because you invested in it. I miss my mustang that I traded for a new one because I had so much into it just don’t want you to make that mistake.
Definitely 13-14 for everything you said and it’s just 2-3 years newer. And 5.8L sounds a lot bigger and better than 5.4L
Good video guys 👍
Any mustang can be easily modified just how we want them.
gt500 weighs more and upgrading the cobra to a 3.73 or 4.10 would give you the butterflies your looking for!!
Justin is a cool guy...……….vmp is cool I want them to make a turbo kit too... then vmp would take over totally on performance for ford

I don’t hate them. I just have no interest in owning one.
because they're slow comparatively
The stock blower is alot better but once you swap that blower on an 07 it can make over 700-800 rwhp with supporting mods with that blower just like a 2013 can
Ppl need to stop with the internet myths.

Justin is definitely coopers dad 😂🤣
