    In the third Stage of our GT500 Bolt-On Build-Up, we installed:
    Ford Racing Twin 65mm Cobra Jet Throttle Body (07-14 GT500) - www.americanmuscle.com/frpp-co...
    Magnaflow Street Axle-back Exhaust (11-12 GT, 11-12 GT500) - www.americanmuscle.com/magnafl...
    Magnaflow Axle-back Exhaust (10 GT, GT500) - www.americanmuscle.com/magnafl...
    Gates 10-Rib Serpentine Belt - 85-7/8 in. (07-14 GT500) - www.americanmuscle.com/gates-s...
    Innovators West 10% Overdrive Harmonic Balancer Pulley (07-14 GT500) - www.americanmuscle.com/overdri...

    Stainless Works Off-Road X-Pipe (11-14 GT500) - www.americanmuscle.com/stainle...
    In Stage 3, our 2012 Shelby GT500 threw down over 589 HP to the tires and over 600 TQ. That's huge gains from our stock numbers of 503 HP and 475 TQ. After the Bama Performance team loaded up their custom tunes over all of these mods, the gains were over 117 HP and 135 TQ throughout the curve as measured on our Dynojet 224xLC!
    We're about to build a 2013-2014 Shelby GT500 next. COMMENT below and tell us your favorite mods on this video and what you want to see us do with the 2013-2014 next...

    Can we have a bigger fuel tank for sale? 16 gallon is just not enough. We need a 26-gallon tank.

    Sounds like I'm gonna mod my GT500 bought a JLT cold air and Bama tuner, filled out the questionnaire you guys asked as far as my specs go, also have kooks headers and flow master exhaust 😊😊

    669 horsepower and 681.8 ft lbs. of torque at the crank on a stock eaton blower @ just 15psi. That's insane when you consider the next generation Shelby GT500 pushed 662 horsepower @ 14.5lbs of boost with 0.4L larger displacement. I love both the 5.4l modular and 5.8l trinity motors.

    In the video you mention to prefer the Balancer in place of a 2.5 pulley. I was wondering if I made the wrong choice, I bought a 2.5 but didn't install it yet. What reason should I sell the 2.5 and get the Balancer.

    Ok guys I need some help, I just bought a 2012 gt/cs and wen I get into the higher rpm range my clutch gets pretty stiff. I can still shift into the next gear but the clutch is very firm. After I let off the throttle and the Rpm's come down it is back to normal. Any ideas?

    • @Coyote.five.0
      @Coyote.five.0 8 лет назад

      if you make a little research you'll find that the clutch has a mechanism for that purpose. its all normal and well tough about it when you want to hammer it down at a higher speed.

    How come a 07-09 gt500 gain more power from the power packs than a 11-12 gt500 even though 07-09 have 50 hp less than 11-12 ?

    • @michaelharris748
      @michaelharris748 5 лет назад +5

      The 11-12 comes with more power stock over 07-09 because they have a better stock intake and tune by comparison so therefore the aftermarket stuff dont gain as much...both cars when fully bolted with being pullied and having a tune will end up about the same as far as power goes because at that point it's essentially the same car driveline wise. The extra 50 horses comes from things like a better stock tune and better air intake etc...so since the stock stuff is better theres less gains to be had in aftermarket. That's how things work in the automotive world. Gaining power is about moving restrictions the more the restriction the more the gains when upgrading. The 07-12 gt500 is basically the same engine when you get down to it...they're both gonna have similar power when fully bolted.

    does 93 octane fuel really show any performance increase on the dyno compared to lower octane fuels?

    • @americanmuscle
      @americanmuscle  8 лет назад +1

      Hey Renownedd, great question. 93 Octane Fuel really does show better performance on the dyno when compared to lower octane fuels. The higher the octane levels, the better performance, and this still holds true when it comes to tunes. So at the end of the day a tune that requires 93 octane to run, will definitely out perform a tune that requires 87 octane. But don't get me wrong, there are still some awesome tunes out there that run on 87, that will do awesome things for your Mustang! Hope this helps! - Matt

    • @michaelharris748
      @michaelharris748 5 лет назад

      Yes always use good fuel ecspecially if youre modding for significantly more power the better the fuel the better period youll make more power and do it alot safer. If you can swing e85 thats even better :-)

    Well lets see 2007-2009 stage 3 makes 581 Rwhp and 600 Tq The 2010-2012 stage 3 makes 589 Rwhp and 600 Tq. With a 50hp (Crank) difference between the 2 models it only gives 8 Rwhp. I think I will stick with the 07-09 model.

    • @turbosaleen347
      @turbosaleen347 10 лет назад +3

      Sure the numbers are close .. Most of the extra power in the 10-11-12 models comes from the better factory intake and better exhaust .. So when you mod them they are pretty much the same .. The extra power this 12 puts down could be as simple as there is no power steering pump to turn it's all electric.. Just my opinion .. It would be interesting to see an 07 to 09 with just the factory intake and exhaust off of a 2012 would do..

    Awful lot of folks commenting on how the 10-12 shelby is putting out the same numbers after a stage 3 build up as the 05-09. Therefore the 05-09 would be better value. One little word of advice. Expect to do a fair amount of suspension work, brake work, and chassis work before the 05-09 even comes close to the 10-12 of equal numbers. Too many people are forgetting that power isn't everything. Power is useless unless it can be properly planted to the ground and utilized. The 2011+ shelby is a much more well balanced and rounded car. Drive both and then make the decision.

      @Decomposing Mongoose true but if youre working with a tuner who knows these cars and have the right mods and good fuel there isnt a need for knock sensors. People survived modding these cars back in the stone age before cars had knock sensors. Theyre nice to have but def not a have to thing just need good fuel and a good tuner who knows what theyre doing and youll have 0 issues.

    I know where I live it's illegal to remove the cats. I also know that its against the federal law to tamper with cats. How can you guys suggest this modification as something I would do to my DD?

    • @americanmuscle
      @americanmuscle  10 лет назад +5

      *****, we always suggest that you check your local laws to make sure that what you're purchasing is allowed because rules change from county to county and state to state. However, you can still see huge gains by choosing a high-flow catalytic x-pipe instead of an off-road x-pipe, which we also sell. You'll only lose a little bit of the gains, but you'll remain emissions compliant. Let me know if you have any questions at all and I'll help you out! -Chris

    • @AutoYoung
      @AutoYoung 10 лет назад +2

      Because emission laws aren't the same everywhere in the country duh. In my state they really don't care about stuff like that. As long as your tint isnt too dark and your glass isnt all cracked up and basic things like mirrors and such are fine you're in and out with an inspection sticker in 2 minutes.

    That's pretty weak for that much boost. maybe I'm just used to more.....updated engines.

    • @michaelharris748
      @michaelharris748 4 года назад +2

      This is a super old comment...no what youre used to is 11:1 compression coyotes they make power on alot less boost but they cant handle as much boost. They get to similar power numbers with less because of much higher compression. The 5.4 in these has like 8.4:1 compression that is ALOT less in case you didnt know, plus the eaton isnt the most efficient supercharger ever made so 15 psi on it isnt the same as 15 psi on say a vmp gen 3 or something like that. Look at that torque curve....its well above 550 torque to the ground through almost the entire powerband basically and breaks 600 at peak....a 589 whp blown coyote isnt gonna be anywhere near those torque numbers and would likely be well over 100 less though the entire curve vs this engine. The coyote is a great engine but its different...they make power differently. The coyote does it with lots of compression and less boost while the 5.4 does it with low compression and higher boost for the same results (hp wise...torque wise it isnt that close between the two honestly) plus the 5.4 sounds better than the coyote...it sounds alot more like the old school 4v mod motors (because essentially its a larger version basically) unlike the super raspy coyote. The main reasons i wanna get an 11-12 gt500 vs a coyote when the time comes...
      1. It sounds better
      2. It has way more torque vs a similar powered blown coyote
      3. It has a much better trans (im a manual guy all the way, the autos just dont do it for me regaurdless of their performance)
      4. It is much more special and unique vs a run of the mill gt...itll get alot more looks and compliments out in the wild and hold its value far better even tho i dont plan on selling it once i get it.
      Thats it for me some may not care about any of those things. If all you care about is making big power and being fast, a 10 speed auto coyote (or even 6r80 coyote) with a blower on it can turn some impressive times at the track but isnt anywhere close on the street on the fun factor rating thats just my .02

    all those mods are a waste of money ! a 13,14 gt500 puts down about 600 to the rear . Just save all the money in mods and get a 13 or 14.

      slick Rick I've tuned Ford before, used to own a f150 lightning. There is so much room for improvement over the stock tune. Even with a stage 3 tune with everything they say, I still think you will be around 5k, which is crazy considering going from a 12 to a 13 the price jumps anywhere from 10-15k. So in my humble opinion I would definitely look at an 11 or 12 and mod it before paying the markup on the 13-14's... just food for thought.
