    I own a 97 Cobra so I am probably biased but it seems like these cars are the long forgotten cars that do not get much love when it comes to these types of video. I have literally watched everyone one AM's videos and even though the same concepts apply across the board it would be appreciated to see something made for that specific generation of Cobra. Thanks AM for consistently creating great content!

      Thanks for the nice words and the support Chris! Going fast and making power really isn't a big mystery, as you pointed out. Whether you're working with a V6, GT or Cobra, It all boils down to the same tactics- force more air into & out of the motor and get the power down to the ground. I'm glad you are enjoying the vids and we'll work on getting something going for the older Cobra's. Thanks again! -Justin

      No Problem! You all do a great job displaying a knowledge of the product as well as professionalism. Its just something about seeing your own ride being talked about that makes it all better.

    So where are y'all getting 93 octane and how much are you paying for it? Would this tune REQUIRE 93 . . . or can you get by with 91 and make a little less power?

    • @princeyear2k8
      @princeyear2k8 8 лет назад

      93 is common in the south especially texas we don't have 91

    Does the bama tune remove the speed governor?

  • @TeamEpsilonRacing
    @TeamEpsilonRacing 10 лет назад +1

    I don't really think CAI and tune is enough to be called a "pack" I would have gone with just two stages of power packs so that more can be in each pack instead of stretching the mods you are going to do so thinly. Same could be said for the 08 gt500 videos as well.

      I hear what you are saying- but try to look at these bolt-on build ups, not as a typical project car build, but more of 'customer' approach to modding. I'll be the first to admit, its always fun to throw 5-10+ different parts on at once, as is the case with most of our project cars, however a majority of our customers tend to 'chip away' at mods- and 9 times out of 10, most look to a cold air intake and tune first. And ultimately, when you throw a bunch of mods on at once, you can sometimes lose track of the benefits of each individual part. So we really want to highlight that it doesn't take much to see MASSIVE gains with these Shelby's. Hope that makes sense! -Justin

      AmericanMuscle.com You bring up some very valid points. And another thing I didn't even think of is cost. I bet most people like you said gradually mod because of financial reasons. I know thats what I am doing :) It makes perfect sense thanks Justin!

    Is there a reason why the '10 gt500 only made 20hp with the intake and the '07 gt500 picked up over 50 horsepower!?!

    • @PO55UM95
      @PO55UM95 8 лет назад

      There was ALOT of small changes to the 2011 from the 2010. Exhaust was one of the big things. Also wideband O2 sensors. Plus, Cast iron block to aluminum block.

      The 10+ GT500's come with a factory ram-air style intake which accounts for most of the stock 50hp bump in power over the 07-09's. The factory ram-air intake however is still slightly more restrictive and smaller than the JLT thus only a 20hp bump in power which half of that is from the tune. The older 07-09 used a traditional style intake that actually draws cooler air but is much much more restrictive.

    • @crodrc51able
      @crodrc51able 5 лет назад

      Look at the stock intake designs for the 07-09, and the 10-12. World difference. It’s why the 07-09 gains more. The 10-12 starts with more.

  • @lusitanovalente
    @lusitanovalente 10 лет назад

    Wow this makes me think how restrictive the 07-09 intake is compared to these.

    • @americanmuscle
      @americanmuscle  10 лет назад

      utopia vanished, our stock results were definitely on the high end. This thing was a little bit of a "factory freak". A typical 2010-2012 GT500 puts down about 465-495 stock, depending on what dyno, what conditions, etc. We put down over 503, so that definitely killed our gains. Most people will see closer to 50HP gains and will dyno stock around 485 or so! Hope this helps! -Chris

    • @americanmuscle

      Jordan Guida You gotta pay to play, Jordan! Power isn't easy to come by with these cars as they're so well built. You won't really get a cheaper 30+ RWHP then a Bama tune and supporting mods! Hope this helps. -Dan

    30 extra horsepower isn't really noticeable on a 500HP car.
