One of my favorite AIC songs ever! This song helped me get through my time in the middle of nowhere Afghanistan. Sitting in my tiny room in our tiny hut at night, praying we didn't get taken out my a rocket, mortar, etc. I can't remember how many times I listened to it, but it definitely provided a small comfort during a very stressful time.
as a combat marine with depression and ptsd and addiction, AIC has given me an outlet. a validity i can not find among mankind since returning home from overseas. i disagree respectfully that the tragedy is what dies inside us. i have no idea what the fuck that means. my private hell is here in the States on the East Coast mourning every morning and living with a false hope. all the what ifs and twelve steps and brick and mortar institutions are slowly bleeding me to death. not to mention the heartache when someone im in love with must simply move on to find a future with someone more balanced and who clearly can not understand what it means to live inside Alice in Chains, from Layne up to this story/poetry/song and beyond. Best of luck to all of you who suffer and continue this uphill forced march. And to the suicides, I miss youse all very, very much and I'll hold down the fort down here but please continue your overwatch from a strategical and tactical position. amen
IMO, though the whole new CD is excellent, this song is soooo close to old AIC. I can almost feel Layne's presence, heh. Jerry did a great job on this...out of all the new tunes, this is pure AIC.
Nice tribute to Layne, Jerry and William. Layne did excuse himself, and left us all who love him sooo much in everlasting questioning PAIN!!!! Well written!!
Sadly I've lived this song and used it as inspiration move on from a broken relationship and later thinking about uncertainties while recovering on disability following a heart attack.
You can feel the sadness in the lyrics, in the forlorn sounds of the wailing guitar. Might be one of AIC's very best tunes ever, Staley era included.

This song is so well written and performed.
This video is made by genius brain and beautiful heart.
"Let us learn to show our friendship to a man while he´s still alivem, not after he´s dead.
One of my favorite Alice In Chains songs......
brutal, dark and honest

This song cuts deep. So good.
This was instantly my favorite song of the album and in my opinion, way underrated. The harmonization reminds me of old school AIC.
This is one of my favorite videos on RUclips. Very cool.
Great album and great song absolutely love it.
Fav Cantrell solo

Thx to whoever made this. It's perfect
All of the tones are sooooo thick like oozing syrup. Awesome!
I just watched an interview with Jerry and he said this song was not about Layne at all. Its about him wanting to break up with a girl he loved.
