AIC are forever keepsakes! My girlfriend will tell you that when I listen to them, she can tell I am kind of on a slippery slope, or sort of on the down slope...which, admittedly seems like a lot of the times anymore. But good, bad, or indifferent, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE, ADORE, AND OBSESS ABOUT AIC, and wouldn't do well at all without a dose of them pretty much daily. I lose myself and who I am with their music, and am hard pressed from all sides to tell you of anything else that so moves me as what these boys do! In a sense, I am glad that, at 45, I never had kids, because, and I am not trying to be selfish here when I say this, but I would be sort if vacant, because I wouldn't be willing to trade In my love and adoration of the arts, and more specifically, music, for Soccer family our, interruptions, from kids, or anything like that. I just don't know what se to say...I love, love, love this group, and talk about them all the time to anyone who will listen to me. My better half is tired of hearing about them, and always cuts me off by saying something along the lines of, "I know, he does this, or he does that..." I live t hi is band, and have to pinch myself sometimes that AT LEAST I got to see them before Layne died here in Tulsa town...the fairgroundshorse tracks, 25,000 others and I back in 1992, with Blind Melon first, second billing, AIC, and both opening for Ozzy! Outstanding and unforgettable-matchless times in my boyhood of memories I was a sophomore in HS.
Layne was my idol and I miss him terribly...their live show in Seattle when they returned from their first tour off of the first album is hands down the BEST LIVE VOCAL PERFORMANCE BY ANYONE EVER. However this album and the new music by William and Jerry and crew is magical and I love it as I am going through the years of tunes..I am glad Jerry has found someone that he can write with and harmonize with again...

I am happy that Alice n Chains is creating new music after the tragic loss of Layne but death is a certain outcome for us all and the new band sounds awesome to. Thanks Alice n Chains for giving us so many years of great music.
laynes picture is in this video, that shows real compassion this band loved their brother, and jerry show,s alot of composer ,this band will endure for a long time
Whenever one of this kind of alice's songs end I kind of release a tear... I think there are so few bands I can relate and feel them speaking for me that way.
One of my favorites since William came to AIC!! Great song and harmonization!! Love my AIC FOREVER!!! Jerry PLEASE play this at ur guys shows next tour PLEASE!!! Your guitar work on this song is AMAZING!!! And the harmonization is just AWESOME!!!
This is so moving. And it took me so much time to even heard of the pictures of Layne and Kurt on the official video. It brings me tears to my eyes. I feel you, Jerry. I am grateful for your work, wish I could tell you in person.
Wow, this is such a beautiful song. I just heard it for the first time the other day, and it's 4am, and I just woke up with this song in my head and had to listen it to.
You really need to get over the fact that Layne's gone. It's tragic yeah but it's the truth. And it wasn't just Layne that made Alice In chains, it was the entire band. That's why they're called Alice In Chains, cause of the contribution of every member. Layne and Jerry's synchronization in vocal harmony was a major factor, No one will deny that, but for where they are right now with Duvall, they sound just as good as they ever did.
You did a great job on the lyrics. Ive been looking for one with the correct lyrics. Others Ive seen says I'm I one? Of the team?. I knew it didn't say that. So thanks great job!! Big thumbs up!
He didn't mean it but when it happened he he me and my mother, I think 40,45 years 😢...still love the man, ,,he was just lost in his brain 😂😂😂, miss the man,my DAD
There're singers that you can change and Others that are simply legends..alice in chains were born with the anger and suffering and also drammatic irony of Layne. You can't replace him but my opinion.
Not that you should care but this aging-in-place geezer forever stuck in Zeppelin land loves me some Alice in Chains. Darkness, depravity, immense beauty, transcendent thoughts, but whatever else I say it's essentially some badass ear candy.
Layne has a unique voice. So does Duvall. They're both fantastic vocalists, and both create excellent music with their fellow band members. I'm just waiting for the point where Duvall does more lead vocals rather than just harmonizing. But they're making the smart choice by "wearing" William into the band, rather than just giving him all these lead parts at once.
I didn't like this song at first, i thought it was a bit too upbeat and poppy for AiC, but like the album, it grew on me tremendously, and now I really like it. This is one of the songs that show that the band has evolved. Cantrell sure knows how to make catchy and beautiful songs. I absolutely love the guitar lines in this song, if you listen closely, it's just amazing. God I love this band...
This sounds lil different form what I remember these guys as and I’ve been fan ever since I was just toddler! Loved the music that these guys put out and still love it as I did then and now.
Fast-forward to today: after five years of solid touring & two albums, they are an immensely better band. I saw them this past March, and there was no comparison. Duvall is a better live singer that Staley was since Facelift. He nailed it, hands down. And the rest of the band was sooo tight; they blew the fucking roof off the place. So, all the wishing for "the good old days" ? The good old days weren`t so good. Embrace the now, stop chasing ghosts. Staley was amazing AT ONE TIME, but he`s gone.
This one is my number one fan new Alice In Chains song. Rain When I Die is my favorite old Alice In Chains. Also, I'm glad to saw you guys in Sioux Falls SD.
I can't go through anything that Jerry did since Degradation Trip, but this song feels like spiritual successor of "Jar of Flies" songs and it couldn't be better.
I totally agree with you, TdudX16. Staley is gone, they got a new lead singer in Duvall, and he's doing a good job there. Besides, almost all of the music from the "old" AIC days were made by Cantrell and not Staley. Staley wrote lyrics, Cantrell the music and lyrics, so if Cantrell had died, it would have been an even greater loss to the band. I just love, that they got a new lead singer, that's doing such a good job, so that we again can enjoy real Alice in Chains.
Those voices in your head telling you to bad things. Please don’t listen to them they aren’t you I promise. They will disappear in time and you’ll be better.
Can't believe they have a 3rd video up already. I'm expecting to see a video for The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here. That song is very good. The solo in it is also great.
I really miss Layne's voice and those emotions he puts in his lyrics ! But i love this song too and i really respect these guys for keeping making music ..as a fan , i really appreciate that and i want to hear more from them , AIC is AIC not only Layne.
A lot of ppl seem to have a distorted memory / view of Staley-era AIC. As is often the case, the memory of a rock star who dies gets romanticized. Here`s the truth nobody wants to face: Staley`s voice was going downhill shortly after Dirt. Sure he was still great in-studio, but live not so much. I saw them around `94, and they were not so good. A big part of that was that they had not played live consistently since the Facelift tour.
Am I the only one who literally can't stop replaying this song?!
my case :D
mary feller you not alone buddy
No
I listen to this everyday.

I was a sophomore in HS.
White noise. This song captures everything for me. Cry everytime. "Always climbing... to fall down again. Holding on to everything"
As much as I miss Layne's voice and the emotion he had in songs along with Cantrell's AIC hasn't given up yet glad to see them still rocking
yes. rock on, forever.
Nate Donias don't forget those kickass golden pipes of his

It's still the good stuff. Plus no one really dies lest they believe that. Them bones 😮😃
Jerry just gets better and better. Damn, he is a hell of a songwriter. He's my favorite musician. AIC4LIFE

Kurt Cobain was the Justin Bieber of the 1990s. The only goof thing to come from Nirvana was Foo Fighters.
UntitledxBeyond I say both
laynes picture is in this video, that shows real compassion this band loved their brother, and jerry show,s alot of composer ,this band will endure for a long time
I like this lyric video better than the actual music video. Like if you agree!
salame462 absolutely!
Whenever one of this kind of alice's songs end I kind of release a tear... I think there are so few bands I can relate and feel them speaking for me that way.
This reminds me of the video for "Grind", nice work!
This is probably the most classic AIC song they've recorded post break up.

They still sound amazing, one of my favorite bands since I discovered them with "Man in the Box"
Jerry IS Alice in Chains.
Layne is dead, not coming back...EVER!!! Leave AIC alone.
@@donmccullen1973 Thats Layne 🙄🥴
@@pipebombhs1412 Oops.
Wow, this is such a beautiful song. I just heard it for the first time the other day, and it's 4am, and I just woke up with this song in my head and had to listen it to.
I've been told dreaming's free..think i'll go back to sleep...
Enjoyin my day off listening to this band all day & then i see this uploaded. Im loving the new album. Keep rocking AIC!
"or thirteen". The song is talking about hearing voices, after all. IMO
Tim Barnard disasociative identity disorder is what this songs about.

Beautiful atmospheric harmony at the beginning and in the end of the song.
beautiful outro wow....
You could put this song on Jar of Flies and I bet no one would notice
He didn't mean it but when it happened he he me and my mother, I think 40,45 years 😢...still love the man, ,,he was just lost in his brain 😂😂😂, miss the man,my DAD
Great song with really nice sounding acoustic guitars and cool bass lines...
There're singers that you can change and Others that are simply legends..alice in chains were born with the anger and suffering and also drammatic irony of Layne.
You can't replace him but my opinion.
Song of the year.
Not that you should care but this aging-in-place geezer forever stuck in Zeppelin land loves me some Alice in Chains. Darkness, depravity, immense beauty, transcendent thoughts, but whatever else I say it's essentially some badass ear candy.
who dosent know that geez..but hes is never forgotten

Oh man, I am with you there. PLEASE let that boy show off his pipes. He rules.
I needed this, cause I couldn't make it out on the radio

I have a Mandela Effect case when I listen to this song like it was made in the mid90s, when I was a pre-teen.
Feel the message inside the song..awesome!

OMG my typing is horrible! I hope you can get my drift! 😂😂
same goes with STP. because being in a band is like being in a team its not just about the big shot or star player but its about all of the members
Breath On A Window next, that song is so beautiful.
I love this kind of sound. Amazing!
That's what I was hearing, but watching the official vid again I could see him saying "thirteen".
This is THE dopest lyric video ever
Alice In Chains still being Grunge, Respect.
one of my favorite songs on the album
I can't go through anything that Jerry did since Degradation Trip, but this song feels like spiritual successor of "Jar of Flies" songs and it couldn't be better.
Voices is a parade full of all that good music can be! Contagious chorus, one of the best on the album :)
AIC 4EVER!
Fantastic song. William is great, miss me some Layne though.
Cool lyric vid!
never forgett this song i know .
Everytime they upload a video like that, means that a new video is coming :D
Difference with STP is when there singer get's kicked out and comes back the band is really good all the sudden.
they write some awesome rocking ballads

One of my bands, i love alice in chains.
This is amazing
That was a pretty sweet video to go with lyrics.
Everybody hears Voices in their heads. The Slightest amount of Trauma can have a Major Impact on them. The Mind is Very Fragile.
I am so learning this song right now.
Great song, I've been listening this all day.
Can't wait to see on stage my favorite grunge band!!! GREETINGS FROM PERU!!
voices seen as visualized threw a picture screen.
Duvall is not as good as Layne, but he is one hell of a singer.
Still all this time still good music
i love this band
Sometimes, the volume knob just doesn't go up high enough.
Definetely my favorite new alice song
Oh come on, they still sound just amazing as they ever did.
My favorite of the album.
Awesome video!... It kind of reversed the feeling that the White Stripe's "seven nation army" video gave me..
suddenly, my paranoid turns music.... great music
"Magnificent".
One of the best songs on the album!
I really miss Layne's voice and those emotions he puts in his lyrics ! But i love this song too and i really respect these guys for keeping making music ..as a fan , i really appreciate that and i want to hear more from them , AIC is AIC not only Layne.
The shows they have today are very good. You can see that they are perfectionists and you could see that in the Facelift tour.
Awesome! Nice work, killer track!
Who hears the voices? I know I do. And they're telling me to live my dreams.
Great. Suddenly i love lyrics videos a little more than conceptual ones...
nice clip video and music
Reminds me of my father. Rip robert john marthaller
Best song off the album.
Old and new, AIC is my favorite in my music collection
great visual
Every bodys keep on
Pulling me down..
Always climbing ,..
Holding to everything...
Used to stand, where i kneel..
I just had the most wonderful audiogasm.
Chilling video!!!

No Excuses+Heaven Beside You=Voices.
Freaking brilliant.
the best song of this album 100 percent
Everyone would but that can't happen and William does a pretty damn good job I must say, just saw them in concert and it was awesome!
Killer jam, Luv it.
