    Love my 390RR, I've already put over 4000km on it in a period of 3 months. I ride it everywhere. I have adventurized mine and I just can't get enough of this bike. I have ridden it in all conditions and it's a weapon. Love the power delivery, and the nimble handling. My 300RR hasn't got out of the shed since I got this 390.

      would love to hear what you've done to make it ADV ready. and that's an amazing review to compare to the 300RR ..!

      Tori your selling me on it. I want to do longer rides. My 300rr is very capable of 100 miles of road and 150 miles of two track in a day but I have to put oil in the reservoir every night and It gets buzzy over 60 mph. I think the 390 might be the weapon for what I am trying to do! BTW..Love your channel

    That maybe the best demo loop ever laid out.

    If you have ever owned or ridden an xr 400 and just wanted a more modern version , this is the bike. E start , modern suspension that is better balanced from the get go , lighter steering with just as much stability , and one sweet motor that has just bit more everwhere without being too much when you get tired.

    Great review and comments. Really helpful as you put the bike through its paces and do so in a really specific situation.
    Thanks for putting this out there and taking the time to do this!

    I always thought the 350 and 430 motors felt WAY better cuz of the shorter stroke, after all the 4 motors are just 2 with longer/shorter stroke. To me, the 390 felt heavy like a DRZ on trails. Obvioulsy its a great dual sport cuz of that. But everyone who tests bikes at Beta Demo's rants about the 350 for woods/single track, a lot like it better than some of the 2T enduro's and nobody buys one? They are kinda hard to find especially in the RR-S version

    Great review! Why does the muffler have that little tip on the end of it? This is the first year where the muffler looks like that.

    • @blackhillsdualsport
      @blackhillsdualsport  3 года назад +1

      Not really sure but it could be for deflecting sound away from the rider.

      @lowep8256 3 года назад +4

      To deflect exhaust away from the turn signal. My 21 has it. Pre 21 they were melting turn signals.

    Isn't part of the pluses of riding a closed course is you don't have to worry about someone coming at you?

      They weren't directing traffic at the start. Guy just didn't know which way to go. They do a race on that course every year and direction changes year to year.

    What bike do you recommend me to buy? 390 or 500? I do single track and ride my bike to work

    • @blackhillsdualsport
      @blackhillsdualsport  3 года назад +2

      Both bikes are really good. If your going to be riding a lot of pavement I’d get the 500. The 390 will do it but the 500 is more comfortable at cruising speeds. Both bikes handle singletrack very well. Betas entire 4 stroke line up is really awesome.

      @@blackhillsdualsport i weigh 210 lbs and im 6ft tall. I do a lot of single track and technical stuff. Would the 390 still be appropriate for me? My ride to work is not highway and i do not intend to ride my bike in the highway. Just to connect to trails.

    • @blackhillsdualsport
      @blackhillsdualsport  3 года назад +4

      @@MansoyHumilde777 Your very similar in size to me. If i was going to be racing I'd get the 390 If i was just using the bike for single track and connecting trails I'd go 500. The 390 is awesome and the 500 is awesome. If you can only have 1 bike Id get the 500.

      @@MansoyHumilde777 I’m 5’11 about 250 and ride a 390rr with 4000miles on it. Mostly trails and technical single track. It absolutely continues to impress me. Hangs with the 300 2T’s and can go 50 all day long. I have a 13/48 gearing setup. It’s got great traction and will lug very well without tiring you out. I get up a lot of climbs 350’s struggle with because the traction of the longer stroke motor is simply awesome.

      @@robfrasier9412 my honest opinion is that you can’t go wrong with any new bike these days. beta and KTM are both great. I just really love my 2017 350EXC it’s fast, easy to ride, super fun. The engine is very lively. I had a 2018 beta 350 and while it was an awesome bike. It wasn’t as peppy as the KTM. The 390 is a great bike. I would definitely own one. I just prefer the KTM 350EXC. I love the engine.

      @@blackhillsdualsport what about comparing the 350 exc against the beta 430? I'm basically looking at the ktm/husky 350 or the beta 390 or 430 for a DS bike. I like the beta seems to come uncorked already.

  • @Menz890
    @Menz890 2 года назад +1

    Do you feel there is enough difference between a 390 and a exc 350 with all the mods to upgrade to the 390? I’m looking at 22 390 race edition and I’m on the fence.

    • @blackhillsdualsport
      @blackhillsdualsport  2 года назад +1

      For me personally no. 390 has slightly better low end torque but not enough that I would sell my 350 exc for one.
