Messing around with the T7. Bike loves it. One of the most capable bikes I've ever ridden. Tires, suspension and rider are the only thing holding this bike back from full on off-road attack mode. Stay tuned for more T7 videos. Like and subscribe Thanks for watching!

This is an older video but still a nice review. Do you remember the previous owner explaining why they put the recluse on, the reason I ask is I see a lot of 200s with recluses so it’s either that a lot of new riders are on 200s or in single track they’re having stall issues, maybe a little bit of both. Just thought I’d ask for your input. I ride an 2022 FX 350 which is perfect for the kind of trails that you were riding there where you can get into third gear a lot in BC we do a lot of rocks and roots and really tight single track where you’re almost always in first or second and this bike might be a nice tool for the job.
If you have ever owned or ridden an xr 400 and just wanted a more modern version , this is the bike. E start , modern suspension that is better balanced from the get go , lighter steering with just as much stability , and one sweet motor that has just bit more everwhere without being too much when you get tired.
That maybe the best demo loop ever laid out.
Ive always loved the black hills area. Im a MN native and long story short im really getting fed up with MN politics and the continued loss of places to ride. Would you say south dakota is a rider friendly state? Are there lots of public trail systems? Im really considering moving.
I would say that it is rider friendly. There really isnt a lot of public land in the black hills. The offroad focus tends to be more towards side by sides, the moto single track is lacking. The dual sport/adv riding is good but we are getting to many people. I wont ride the northern hills trails during peak season for fear of running into one of the million side by sides on the trails. I mostly ride private land or bushwhack when I ride my enduro bike.
If you had to pick one... Which Beta dual sport would you pick??
in all honestly i wouldn't buy a beta 4 stroke. lots of issues with the new ones. the KTM 350exc 2017- current is one of my favorite bikes and i'd choose one of those over any beta 4 stroke model.
cool!
I tried to watch you, but that sweetie, Lola (I think you called her) was all I watched. I'll have to replay it after I get my fill. Seriously I agree with you, trials is addictive and so much fun. Nice riding.
Any bike can participate? I am thinking to go for the 2023 event but my bike is CRF250R
what is the top speed
Great review and comments. Really helpful as you put the bike through its paces and do so in a really specific situation. Thanks for putting this out there and taking the time to do this!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi! How tall are you? I'm interested that it felt small for you. I'm 5'3".
6'2
Thank you!
Hey man nice video, I am thinking of getting a 200rr or 250rr myself. Whats the speed like? Dyno tests say they can do up to 140kmh or 90mph. Obviously with wind that wont be the case, but just looking to see what you and other riders think. Do they have speed or are they purely a bottom end torque bike?
You talking top speed? I don't know. The bikes haul ass in the woods and on tracks. If your looking for a bike with a ton of top speed maybe get a different kind of bike. These are woods weapons. I'm guessing you could do 65 to 75 or 80 no problem though if needed for short distances. I've never tried maxing one out on a straight.
@@blackhillsdualsport thanks for the comment, good point. Id have to contact beta directly
@@Levi-xo9un if you wondering if they can cruise at highway speeds for short distances to connect trails. They can without issue.
@Black Hills Dual Sport okay thanks. Where I ride, we have enduro style back roads and all that jazz, but often ride on dirt at high speeds getting places. Just wondering if it can handle that. I like everything about it, but wondering if it could ride around with throttle open, not rev limiter, for frequent, 4-5 minute periods
As far as the before and after with the Vortex ECU, what's your thoughts on power gains. To my understanding, the stock ECU is very restricting. Is that correct? Thanks
Night and day difference. If you have a 350 exc the vortex and the Blaise racing desmog kit are a must. Bike is very boring in stock configuration.
Isn't part of the pluses of riding a closed course is you don't have to worry about someone coming at you?
They weren't directing traffic at the start. Guy just didn't know which way to go. They do a race on that course every year and direction changes year to year.
Good honest review mate.good stuff 🤘
Appreciate it. Thanks for watching!
Where is that

These bikes work better when you start the engine FIRST!! 😂
How come no one asked for a comparison in between this beast and the 500 excf yet ??
I'd imagine there might be some videos out there comparing the 2. I haven't owned a 500exc so I can't compare.
Nice video. Good level of commentary mixed with the sweet song of the 2T. Beautiful country there! Subscribed.
Appreciate it! Thanks for watching
Looks rough on that bike. Bike it way to heavy for that, like 500 pounds.... At least 200 pounds too much.
It's one of the most capable bikes I've ever ridden.
dogs having fun.
Beta 500 is the best bike I've ever owned. Love that thing! Cool video 👍✌
Why no on road reveiws on these beta DUAL SPRTS
It was a beta demo. Off-road course only.
@@blackhillsdualsport I want to see how well they do on road... it seems all the no Japanese dual sports only show off road reviews
@@gabrielkopp2036 I owned a 2019 500 beta it was ok on the road. Not the most enjoyable on long stretches. You will find yourself looking for dirt. If you're looking for an awesome bike that does both get a Yamaha T7.
@@blackhillsdualsport I have a t7...and a wr250r .. I'm just looking into the beta for just bit more power.. and it's better than team orange out of the box
Just got done riding mine... BRAND NEW, probably just the 4th or 5 E Z ride so far..... running TUBELESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW..with the traction control it is simply amazing. I am now running it the lower of the 2 engine mapping settings... so far it's better for me in the tight woods, less prone to stall as my first few rides.... If you are not running tubeless................do yourself a HUGE favor and pull out the prehistoric tubes...............................
top speed?
4000 mph
@@blackhillsdualsport looking at a mxc 200. it's a 2003. Would this be a fair comparison to that bike?
I went from a 300 rr to a 250rr and to me it feels lighter , and it will lug good but for me the 250 is the sauce.
What trail is this? Heading out there next weekend!

I just bought a 2000 KTM 200 EXC a few months back and love it. I wasn’t really looking for one that old but once I saw how clean it was I ended up buying it. I’m over 300 pounds and this bike throws me around like a rag doll. Which surprised me a lot having riden a few 250s. Once I get it re sprung and valved it’ll definitely be a good contender for some hare scrambles
I have a 2020 430 RRS an on slow speed trail riding the temp goes up to 220 to 235 but cools down once speed pics up. Fan comes on at 200. Does anyone know if this is normal
I have a 2005 model its one of the best bikes they built wish they did not discontinue it
I do also but i got to fix my water pump
I always thought the 350 and 430 motors felt WAY better cuz of the shorter stroke, after all the 4 motors are just 2 with longer/shorter stroke. To me, the 390 felt heavy like a DRZ on trails. Obvioulsy its a great dual sport cuz of that. But everyone who tests bikes at Beta Demo's rants about the 350 for woods/single track, a lot like it better than some of the 2T enduro's and nobody buys one? They are kinda hard to find especially in the RR-S version
After watching several vids like this I bought a 22 500 RR-S. Its been an absolute joy to ride. The ability to change up the suspension settings and gearing so quick, it really has the ability to do anything I want it to do. The 15 tooth is a bit too high on single track (That's typically how they are delivered, but they also give you a 13 tooth so I assume thats what you were riding with)
This was a demo. I believe the bike was totally stock. I enjoyed it
@@revarmstrong No but I know a few desert friends that use 14/50 the 13/48 is perfect for what I do.
Rode a Yz 250 and 250X a few times, just feels like it wants to rip your arms off and you are always holding it back in the woods. Rode my buds 250RR older version and immediately thought it felt nicer for single track. Id like to play with progressive power valve settings once too.
What a great Demo Track lay out!!! It seems that group really wanted to let you see what the Bate's can do.
That is some gnarly looking terrain. I'll stick to the well worn trails lol
Just bought from same store, great deal, love it so far
That was some gnarly stuff especially in that super tight rock section!
Thats the one I ordered.
Where is the review 🤔
Haha so true.
Hey good vid! Question, i have to ride on open road for about 12 miles to get to my tracks what's this bike like cruising at that distance at say 50mph? and will i do any damage?
Perfectly fine. I dual sport my 300 beta. It does great. Just don’t hold it wide open on pavement all the time and you’ll be good.
Where would you say some of the easiest trails are? Southern hills, northern hills? I want to bring my son out, and dont want to get in over his head right away. Something without so many rocks etc. Thanks
For singletrack it’s going to be north. There really isn’t any public singletrack in the southern hills.
Did you try the 200 ?
No I didn’t. I know a guy that has one and he loves it. I did have a KTM 200 and loved that bike. 200 motor is very fun.
He is a good rider and I have one of those and they are very fast.
Hi Bud great video I torn between both 390 or 500 because there's no bike to test ride and I ride all stuff single also hilly and just bush tracks and about 30-40 miles of bitumen roads to get to where I'm going and being 100kilo - 220 pound and was a bit worried that the 390 might struggle with the my weight just wonder what you thoughts were
I’m similar weight. 390 has plenty of power. That bike hauls! For the type of riding your talking about I’d go 500 it’s better for longer distance. 390 can definitely do it but I think a 500 would be better. 390 is more of a race or tight singletrack bike in my opinion.
I just got the 500 RRS and swapped out the front sprocket with a 13T. All the power you need and will easily do highway speeds with that sprocket. The 15T will get you to 100 mph, but why would you want that? This thing pulls like a spaceship in all gears. Totally controllable at very low speeds and nearly impossible to stall. I cannot think of a reason to get the smaller bike when they weigh the same. I am 220 pounds also and had the 2" seat lowering from the factory, because I am 70 and just hate super high seats. I do not race. Still trying to figure out the best suspension settings, but it is coming along.
@@albertgetty9382 hi sir, did you order your 500rr-s in America? I’m Very interested in buying/ordering a 2022 500rr-s but for the past 3-4 month Beta USA website says the custom BYOB (build your own beta) is no longer available? I’m about 5’9” tall and I absolutely have to have the 2” lowering option. The standard 37” seat hight is to tall. Any info on how you got your new beta 2” lower from factory would be much appreciated
@@albertgetty9382 , I'd want the stock 15 tooth. It's there for a reason - these are street legal.
Hi, I'm watching your video almost one year after you released it, I like it very much. My profile matches exactly what you describe as a potential user for this bike. I own a BSE 300 (almost identical to the Motosrsports SSR 300), it has the NC250 engine (big bore). Thank you for your video, ride safe.
There is only a 2lb diff between this and the 390. Do they feel different other than power?
Yes the 500 has a slightly heavier feel.
I'm super curious if you tried different gearing on this? Checked out your channel and tons of great content, you deserve more subscribers, but didn't see an update on this bike. A long term review would be interesting for sure. Subscribed and look forward to seeing all your stuff!
I owned the bike for about 1 year. Had a few issues with it nothing to major. Biggest complaint was power. It was just to slow for me. Chassis and suspension were good. Engine was boring.
@@blackhillsdualsport Thanks for getting back to me. That was my concern from what I've seen about it, nice to know for sure. Nice work on the channel.
@@blackhillsdualsport So what are you riding now? I've been seriously considering the fse 300R for use strictly as a trail bike. It looks like your area has a lot of wide open dirt roads, which of course a faster bike would be more fun for that. I'm in Texas so most of my riding is twisty farm roads and back roads, some gravel also, so I have a DR650 for that and it's awesome for that kind of stuff. We have some OHV parks with very tight woods trails, single track stuff, and I have a little DRZ-125L for that. It's fun, just a little small for me. I used to have an XR250R years ago, I want something similar so I'm thinking the GPX300R might be a good choice. Still thinking about though.
Hope to move to this area.
It’s a fun area. There is some good riding
Was that ridden with a 13 front sprocket?
What ever comes stock. It was a demo bike.
Great video! I have a 2022 and the 13t front sprocket really helped. I agree on the suspension and the motor. Super happy with my choice and you can't beat a 6mo warranty! Subscribed!
Awesome man. Thanks for watching!!
