The first time I recognized that Revelation was dealing with more than the Roman Empire, but definitely included Jerusalem, and the Jewish Commonwealth, was when I encountered the words of Jesus at Mt. Olivet, "this generation." I understood that in the Jewish way of looking at this, a generation was about 40 years, and thus 70 AD (destruction of the Temple/Jerusalem), less 30 AD (crucifixion) was indeed about 40 years. The children of Israel wandered in the wilderness for 40 years coming into the Promised Land, and consequently they "wandered in the wilderness" for 40 years going out of the Promised Land. Suddenly it made sense!
Yes. Once I heard of this interpretation it made so much sense that I began doing my own research. I have written a 10 part series (more to come) on the Olivet Discourse. If you’re interested I can send you a link to my work for you to read through if you want.
I was anxiously awaiting your take on the wine press. You really do a great job. Thank you for your clear and consistent orthodox preterist explanation. Most of my Lutheran brothers (LCMS), take an exclusively idealistic approach to this letter. On to the seven bowls!
I missed the Fourth Angel. I thought the harvest of the elect was the fourth and the reaping of the wicked was the fifth angel. Where is the fourth that I missed somehow?? Can you list the 7 Angels by verses please and thanks
The fourth 'angel' is actually the Son of Man who appears on a cloud. He stands in the middle of the seven and presides over them. Then three more angels are mentioned in chapter 14.
Thank God we can return to the understanding Gore presents and away from dispensational historicist application to Revelation.
Agreed!!
Agreed
🙏🏼🕊️ thank you
Amen! Thank you for this insight! I've been listening to your other lessons on the historical and chronological context of the Bible.
It is an honor to hear from you, sir. Thank you for the encouragement!
Thanx Bruce. Quite timely it could seem.
Wonderful! 🙏🙏❤️

It is not a "a christian movement", It is the beginning of the Lord's CHURCH Mat. 16:18 cf Acts2:47, Eph 3:9-11.
Yes, we all understand that.
35 minutes in, there is no Galatians 4:38. Should be 4:28.
You keep saying the sky is a dome. It is. Its not the ancients that say it. Its God's word
The biblical dome covered flat earth blithely brushed aside eh.
