Delivered from Darby, from the pietist movement, from Hal Lindsey, from the dispensationalists, and the sun ain't no longer shining out of the Jews' whatsits, let's see how it continues. Definitely a warm thank you to pastor Bruce.
Now i am delivered from Darby and scofield, Thank you Bro. Gore for the true interpretation of this book and other eschatology that has been misinterpreted.
Wonderfully and authoretatively taught. Amazing to think that in the same context of the little book, the thunders proclaim that which is not written by John, as being a message sealed for another generation. Meditating on this I see the gospel spread for 1500 years through the testemony of God fearing men and women, dependente on the Holly Spírit, and then came that what we today call the bible era in which we live. Today we até mostly dependente on teacheres of the bible and how we should interpret the scriptures, and the Holly Spírit is forgotten. No dought we need the bible and its teachers but we need more time with the Holly Spírit and also Spírit guided men like this one to lead in wisdom and faith. Thanks you Bruce and may God bless you even more.
This is exactly what I needed to hear today. Thank you thank you thank you, so much for continuing. For me it’s become close to life or death, and hearing this today has given me some hope at exactly the time when I felt like all hope was becoming forever out of reach. So thank you from the bottom of my heart for what you’ve said and for continuing the discussion of the Book of Revelations.
I am late to the party. I hadn't realized that you had started a new series covering Revelation. Sir, you have a remarkable gift for teaching and I am blessed by your ministry.
As a full Preterist, I naturally wanted to study the sealing of the utterances of the 7 thunders, especially in light of Rev 22:10. David Chilton wrote Days of Vengeance as a partial preterist, and his words echoed the teaching of Mr. Gore. However, since he became a full preterist before he died, I wonder what
Thank you so much for the lessons! From a Post Millennium, Partial Preteriste perspective, I have a hard time working Zechariah 14:16 “And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.” Where does this verse fit into Revelation?
This is one of many examples of descriptions of the blessings flowing to the nations under the reign of Messiah, but providing those descriptions using the categories and imagery of the Old Covenant system of worship. The Feast of Tabernacles was chosen out of the three mandatory feasts under Jewish law because of its unique character as a feast that celebrated the ingathering of the harvest, as well as Israel's wilderness wanderings and the protection God provided there, along with their entrance into the promised land. It seems to have provided the best picture of the rescue the nations from the kingdom of darkness, and their entry into the kingdom of Christ, where they enjoy the blessings of God's grace and protection.
Bruce Gore Thank you! That’s how I see it. I went back through the book again, and it’s easy to see where the time frame is. It’s all about the coming Messiah, and most definitely, he reigns now. I could back that with lots of Bible. Thanks again for clarifying Zachariah 14 for me.
Jesus commanding the second coming to be remembered by the taking of communion was written before AD 70which was before the full preterist believing the second coming would occur,
@@GoreBruce Thank you! Also I've been listening to Greg Baunsens series through Revelation as well parallel with you. I listened to part of his Rev. 11 today and it seems that he states the Great city in Rev. 11 is Jerusalem, but later in Revelation its Rome And while I listened to your series awhile back (Im going through it now taking notes) I thought i remembered that you state its Jerusalem throughout the whole book correct? That's what I believe just based on my reading of it
@@michaelmatejka1068 I like Bahnson, but I differ with him on this point. It seems to me that there can only be one “the great city“ in the book ofRevelation, and that must be Jerusalem. Thanks again!
Brother Bruce, thank you for your lectures. I’m really enjoying them. Did I hear you say John went to Ephesus after Patmos? Did I pick that up right? I always imagined he died on Patmos.
Those who take the view that Revelation was written toward the end of the first century also argue that John died on Patmos. I argue that Revelation was written during the persecution under Nero, and once the Jewish Wars were over and the dust settled, John returned to Ephesus and continued his ministry for many more years.
Thank you very much Bruce for taking the time to respond to me. Very kind of you. I’ve one more question. Jesus said not one stone of the old temple would be left upon another, so do you think the western wall today was associated with another building other than the temple? Any opinion on the matter? God bless.
The Western Wall was apparently part of the external structure built by Herod when he undertook refurbishing the temple campus, but was not actually part of the temple structure itself.
As a full preterist, I wanted to study a bit about the sealing of the utterances of the 7 thunders especially in light of Rev 22:10. David Chilton in Days of Vengeance pretty much echoed what Mr Gore taught. But, before he died, he became a full preterist, so I would have liked to have gotten his read on the subject. However, since the words were sealed, we can only guess what they were. The partial preterists are obviously guessing when they project the meaning out to thousands of years in the future. (sounds familiar to what we hear from the Dispys). My guess is that the words were sealed until the Mystery of God was revealed. Some commentators feel that the words were of judgment so harsh, that they couldn't be elaborated on. I think that I'll hold to my belief that one way or the other, the sealing no longer applied after the events of AD 70.
This is David Chilton's 'Days of Vengeance.' It is out of print, but a free pdf of the commentary is available here: www.garynorth.com/freebooks/docs/pdf/days_of_vengeance.pdf
Wait. Oh I'm so embarrassed: I wrote on one of your 2015s about timeline that I love St. Irenaeus and those Saints took many an arrow for us but I had this 'thought' that MAYBE 🤦🏼♀️ St. John's Apocalypse was written in the 50s, perhaps before his Gospel. I thought I was possibly being 'revolutionary' (I liked the idea - none "salvific" in nature of course!) that St. Paul's thorn in his side was him working over political figures pretty well and St. John dropped the Apocalypse of Jesus Christ and that was the thorn in St. Paul's side. (I mean no disrespect to the Holy Ghost of course; just a _thought._ How I read things which is probably all off-base.) So I'm in my Bible reading plan (end of the year is great: Daniel and Apoc. line up before Advent), but this year I decided I'd watch your [this] series on Revelation for each day (today's my Rev 10 day). *So it's not uncommon to think Apoc. was written before the 90s?* 🤦🏼♀️ (Well, you put it mid-60s; I like to go back into early-Nero range for the "one is, one is yet to come" bit, WELL before Nero made Caligula look like a gentleman.) I still don't know what the "isms" are (preterism, proterism, ...one of Protestant groups kicked THE LORD out of the "New Testament" entirely. I know the guy in real life. Heretic. #TheInquisitionWasGodsWill #ChristTheKing). Happy All Saints Vigil. I pray it's not 'wrong' to think someone of Sem_tic descent may have possibly gotten his hands on Irenaeus' scrolls and "made a few [unholy] adjustments" (about the dating of St. John's Apocalypse in particular). I truly love St. Iraenaeus. And ALL THE SAINTS! (All Saints is a personal favorite octave of mine.) _Baptism saves._ 🙂💦✝️ Otherwise, very lovely. I.X.
Full preterists do not claim that the second coming of Christ (AD 67-70) had anything to do with the end of the world. They, in fact, point out that the Bible never teaches “the end of the world.” 30:30. “[Christ] will reign over the house of Jacob forever; and of his kingdom there will be no end.” Luke 1:33 Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end… to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore.” Is. 9:7. To Him be glory in the Church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, world without end! Amen.” Eph. 3:21 “God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed…it shall stand forever…” Dan. 2:44f Through an indestructible life, Jesus is “a priest forever, after the order of Melchizedek.” Heb. 7:17. Fulfilled (Biblical) eschatology seeks to expose the non-scriptural traditions of men and interpret the New Testament coming of the Lord consistent with the several Old Testament comings of the Lord.
When I do an internet search on full or consistent preterism mr Gore is correct. They believe as was mention in the comments from around 29 minutes forward. Who is your main theologian. Kenneth Gentry held some preterist views but I am not sure it was full preterism. Greg Bahnsen was a Presuppositional advocate I don’t remember him pushing full preterism. The big point in Mr Gore’s-teaching is that Revelation is confirming we should go out and spread the “ little book” the Gospel. We often get sidetracked by issues which detract from that mission. The Bible is the story of God’s interactions with man and this leads to salvation through the completed work of Jesus Christ.
Hello Lars, Full preterists believe that all eschatology is fulfilled --“the dwelling of God is (already) with men." Rev. 21:3. It is sad when people believe that this is not the case and that we are waiting for the “blessed hope”-- waiting for something we already possess! Some fulfilled eschatology teachers are Don K Preston, William Bell Jr., Samuel G. Dawson, Daniel Rogers, etc. Mr. Gentry is a partial preterist i.e. a futurist. What is missed by the futurists is how perfectly the prophetic scriptures were fulfilled in the generation they were supposed to take place: "There are some standing here who will not taste death before they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom." Fulfilled Eschatology is so glorifying to God! Some people get the “end of time” mixed up with the “time of the end.” There’s a BIG conceptual difference. “Time of the end” (Dan 12) refers to the end of the Old Covenant.@@ccswede
