Why do we see every time this eternal torment doctrine is going to be taught, the text that is being examined is taken out of context. The Isaiah text in chapter describes a judgment also of eternal consequence. The smoke ascending for ever and ever, simply means that the judgment is forever and ever. Nowhere in Revelation either do we find God torturing men for ever in flames of fire. I think that it would be good to appreciating the pictorial language of the prophets and also in Revelation throughout the entire text. God bless.
Jesus Christ says in Matthew 25:41, "Depart from me, ye cursed, into EVERLASTING FIRE, prepared for the devil and his angels." In Matthew 13:42, Jesus says: "And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth." Just something to think about, Jesus Himself speaks a lot about hell and we should follow what He says and not our feelings. The God of all the earth will do right.
Who/what do (IB) and (DC) stand for? I can't think of any Latin/English abbreviations. Are they names? Since they are mentioned frequently, it must be important…?
IB stands for Interpreter’s Bible, a multi volume commentary on the whole Bible with multiple scholarly contributors. DC stands for David Chilton, and his commentary on Revelation entitled Days of Vengeance.
The Babylon in 1 Peter 5 could have been the real Babylon area. The Geneva Bible footnotes seem to think so. i agree that Jerusalem is the Babylon of Revelation, but can't be sure that Jerusalem was the Babylon of 1 Peter 5.
You blind, the most blind from all blind Pastors - you wanna teach the people??!! Close your mouth you wrong teacher!! Listen what the Lord speaks for you and all people of your kind: Revelation 22, 18-19: 18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

I seem to recall "that great city" being used with Ninevah in Jonah.
The term is used several times in Jonah to refer to Nineveh.
Amazing!

@@GoreBruce Excellent! Very much appreciated! Thank you ever so much!
I used to watch these lessons with very few ads. Today I am seeing an ad every 5 min. Is this intentional?
Sorry for that. I have no control over the RUclips ad policies.

Sadly, the dispensational futurists have added much to Revelation and teach it as The Truth. Bruce's teaching is Biblical and correct.
