    Thanks for pointing out where the fuse puller is. I've owned my 2014 Elantra since its birth and never knew it was there!!

    Thanks for the vid. How do you convert the outlet to work constantly?

    • @VirarAutomotive
      @VirarAutomotive  4 года назад +1

      You mean to make the outlet work even when the car is switched off ? I do not know how to do that. It would most likely include some rewiring.

    I replaced the center console fuse yesterday and yes the fuse was broken, but it is still is not working. However, after watching your video today I now know there is a passenger side one as well, gonna try that one! (Anyone have ideas for why my center console 12v is still not working?)

    Do we just throw the old fuses away? And what if there isn’t any spare/the last owners used the spare fuses? And does the car need to off when doing this?

    • @VirarAutomotive
      @VirarAutomotive  4 года назад +3

      The car needs to be off when you are this. You can throw the old fuses away in trash. If there are no spare fuses you can always buy replacement ones from your local auto parts store. You can buy a variety pack of 10-15 fuses for ~$15 or so.

    Sir, quick question.
    What about the usb thing right under the cigarette lighter?
    I put a cord there but it''s not charging my phone.
    Also, thank you so much for your help :)

    • @VirarAutomotive
      @VirarAutomotive  Год назад +1

      Hello,
      Unfortunately I don't know if there is a quick fuse replacement for that issue and that issue is pretty common on this vehicle model..the way fix it is just replace the part. The USB and aux Input is sold as a single replacement party and just gets replaced.
      Sorry but I couldn't be of more help. :(

      @@VirarAutomotive Wow!
      I really appreciate your help...
      1) So in order to fix the cord not charging when plugged into usb, I need to buy that piece from Amazon, right?
      2) There is no such thing as fuse changing for this usb, like the cigarette lights?
      3) If so, are there cheaper options than that link?

    For anybody who has a Sonata with a rear port, the fuse for the rear port is under the hood. (There's two, should be the one on the outside, or to the left looking at the fuse box from the side)

  • @parkerbohnn
    @parkerbohnn 3 года назад +2

    The cigarette lighter will always be closest to the driver so the cigarette lighter is the left one (20amp fuse) and the power outlet is on the right side (15amp fuse). Not explained in the video unfortunately.

    This is switching out the fuse but not really fixing it. What if the problem is not the fuse but the outlet itself?

    • @VirarAutomotive
      @VirarAutomotive  4 года назад +1

      For the most part its the fuse that blows to protect the outlet. So by replacing the fuse it fixes the problem. In the uncommon instance that something went wrong with the outlet itself, I am afraid your best bet then is to just replace the outlet. But give this is a try, it takes 5 mins and 50 cents this method, as opposed to going the outlet replacement way. Cheers :)

    do you know how to change the fuse for usb port under that cigarette lighter in the middle?

    • @VirarAutomotive
      @VirarAutomotive  3 года назад +1

      Not sure which fuse is for the USB port. Sometimes that Aux/USB port unit itself just goes bad and has to be replaced.

    I have a 2013 Hyundai Elantra.
    I changed out the passenger side cigarette lighter fuse (15A I believe) but the lighter isn't working still. What's going on?

    • @VirarAutomotive
      @VirarAutomotive  3 года назад +1

      That fuse fix is the most common problem for the lighter fix. If it's still not working for you maybe the power outlet itself may have some issue. Try taking out the fuse (the new one that you put in) and see if it's good. If not, then there maybe some other issue that's causing fuses to repeatedly blow. Also the power outlet can only handle upto 180W,plugging in anything more than that will cause the fuse to blow

    • @parkerbohnn
      @parkerbohnn 3 года назад

      The cigarette lighter is the 20 amp fuse not the 15 amp fuse. The cigarette lighter will always be closest to the driver so the cigarette lighter is the left one and the power outlet is the right one. You replaced the wrong fuse.

    • @VirarAutomotive

      Usually when those go bad, the solution to fix it is just to replace the part. That is a common failure problem. There could be a fuse to just replace but I am not aware where it is.

      Right at 1:24 you see the fuse panel cover that I pulled out? The fuse panel is right there behind it. I see how the camera is zoomed in right at the fuses and may cause some confusion.
