This was SUPER helpful thank you. As someone that knows literally nothing about cars this was straightforward and simple to understand and took me 5 minutes to do and now I can use my bluetooth aux adapter for my car (:
Woot thank you! My manual only gave me half the instructions. It only mentions changing under the hood and not the other aux fuse like you showed me. Now I can charge my GPS again :D
Thanks for the info! Stopped on the side of the highway to give some roadside assistance. Found your video on RUclips and it to solve the problem. Thank you my friend.
Wow,didn’t know that easy, just bought a used truck and have the same issues,I thought I have to bring it to the seller then wait a long time to get it fixed, but now I can try to fix by myself, thank u so much!
Literally the EXACT thing happened to me. I was using a portable air pump and then assumed it was broken. I plugged in my phone charger the day after and realized that the outlet had gone bad lol
This happened to me using my portable air pump a few days ago while blowing up my paddleboard. Annoying since now my phone cord isn't long enough to reach from the middle outlet to the mount on my dash 😅
@ believe it or not the dude from the store wasn’t helpful so I’ll order a pair of needle nose pliers online and then once I have the broken fuse I’ll go to the store to buy the correct one
Are there just a bunch of fugly trolls going round disliking stuff? Cuz seriously... Why the fuck would anyone dislike this. It's good info and is exactly what happened to my fuse! Good video thank you!
A damn penny fell into the main lighter socket and blew out all three of my sockets in my car. I use a transmitter to play my music and I was pissed that I had to go without it before knowing that coins can blow out the fuses. Now I know better. Thanks for this video.
Thank you so much. Same thing happened with my air compressor. It blew both the front and back cigar outlets. The replacement fuses were cheap. Saved me a lot of worry and an expensive trip to the service center.
In my case, the cord insulation on the air compressor was old and cracked, and that's what shorted the fuse on the car. I replaced the cord and haven't had any issues since.
Thank you! This is EXACTLY what happened to me. Tire pump blew my cigar lighter outlets. However, as far as I can tell, the 20 amp fuse looks fine. Im going to try replacing it anyways because I sure dont want to change the entire cigar lighter.
Sometimes the fuse may look OK but still, be bad. If you have a multimeter, check the continuity between two prongs on the fuse. No continuity - means the fuse is bad. Or just replace it with a new one :)
wow thank you for this you just saved me buying a new radio because my cigarette lighter socket wasnt working neither was my radio but i assumed it just stopped working bc it was a cheap radio but turns out the radio and socket use the same fuse
Very informative. What should you do if, after checking your fuses and finding them all in working order, your power points still have no power? My 2014 Ford Flex has four power points, none of which are functioning, despite their corresponding fuses being intact. What steps should I take next?
Thanks man! I thought I'll have to have my port replaced. Though, my car's fuses were under the steering wheel towards the right (Right Hand Drive Car for India, Hyundai Grand Sportz) and there were no spares for 20A included in this fuse box. (Thankfully though, it was simply called Power Supply 1 and 2, the second one being for the passenger seat's port). Though, the one under the bonet in the front for Car's battery and power supply had a spare for each of the Ampere ratings in the car and even had a mini plier included too.
Good stuff! If the fuse continues to blow, then you have to figure out why. For me, it wasn't the car or wiring or anything having to do with the system. After much pain, disassembling, and diagnosis, it turned out it was the 12v to USB A adapter that was bad. A BAD ADAPTER!! Go figure. Switched adapters and no more fuse blowing problems.
Good tutorial i managed to find it on Mercedes b180 2012. It was located in front of the passenger seat. Just checked all the 25s and one of them was blown
Probably the most useful advice I can give is to buy a basic 08 CTS. The less "bells and whistles" you have on the car, the fewer problems you'll have to deal with at this age. Thanks for watching!
thanks for the video! I broke 2 cars' fuse today :( trying to give some air for car A(works 5 sec then it shuts down). bring car B next to it and give it a go, another 5 sec and it shuts down .... both cars' cigarette lighter socket connect with USB charger all the time and worked fine but all the suddenly when connect to mini compressor the fuses just blown ? One of the car is only 2 years old. At first I thought it was the mini compressor's problem but when I tried the 3rd car(which is only 2 month old) it worked perfectly. felt kind of bad for the other 2 cars though... How often does fuses break?
In my case there was a problem with the compressor. Part of insulation on the wire was damaged, so when I moved compressor around the Positive and Negative wires crossed each-other and shorted the electrical system. And that's when fuse gets blown to protect the rest, more expensive components.
So here is the deal, in the last car i owned, lighter jack worked perfectly when the car was turned off, aswell as the radio which is pretty common, but in my current car radio works fine but lighter socket doesn't work unless i turn on the car or at least give it a contact with the key. Is there any solution for the lighter socket to work without starting the car? It is a Citroen model btw..
I think the lighter jack is disabled by design on some smaller cars with smaller batteries when the car is turned off. And I don't know how to bypass this setting. Larger cars with large batteries can handle the radio and charging your phone while not running, but smaller batteries can't. That's just my opinion.
The air pump probably shorted and blew the fuse to protect the rest of the electrical system in your car. If you use it again, the same thing will probably happen. I would suggest repairing or replacing the air pump. Thanks for watching.
Man you're the best!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks so much. You saved me a HUGE mechanic bill. Fuck mechanics all thieves the fucker wanted to charge 200$ to do this 5 minute fix without any buying of parts no less

@@Your-Self did your air compressor come with a spare fuse? Mine came with one but I’m not sure if worked. Too afraid of blowing the car fuse again.

easy fix!
My car cigarette lighter is not working , i want to ask that it might be same problem with me that is shown in ur video.
I am facing the same problem after using tyre inflator. Let’s hope I can resolve the issue.
Should be an easy fix if you can find the right fuse!
If fuse good , how to check , I checked the wire in the outlet , but no power , how can I do . thank you
What is the name for the extra fuses for the Cadillac STS ? I got the broken fuse out and need the extra one
I don't know the name for your fuse, but if you take the damaged fuse to the local Auto parts store, they will give you correct replacement.

Sure, Auto Zone is good. They should find a replacement for your fuse for about $1 or $2
where to buy fuss?
