Its only the 85 inch that has 4994:1 contrast all the smaller versions have a different screen and half the contrast ratio so cant preduce the same picture quality as the 85 inch. Really the lower sizes 75,65 etc should be a differnt model class to the much better 85 inch unit as they are tottaly different screens
Would have been nice if any of the reviewers had tested the G-Sync functionality. I wouldn't have bought this pos if I had known that it doesn't work, even though Sony is advertising compatibility.

Sony a95l just won the value electronics king of tv for 2023 and what sets it apart from the compitition is the upscaling especially in streaming, is the upscaling and processing the same with the x95l, whats your take?

Hi MH, thanks so much for the comment and questions I'll run through the questions in order. 1) This was a concern I had too as I also have a young family but it's very stable and all concerns I had have gone. 2) Personally, I don't think they are needed but appreciate each used case is different. If there is a risk your children might climbing up behind the TV then it might be worth considering 3) Great question. Yes I would consider it given your example. It's a stunning TV with a beautiful picture and if there is a risk of items being thrown at it then for peace of mind it might be worth getting one. 4) There is a jack but I haven't been able to try it with headphones so can't say for certain if it will work with them.
Good review, but you do not mention anything about Freeview, how does it look on this TV?. We were thinking about the Samsung QE65S95C, but after seeing the Freeview picture on that in store we were disappointed as it was not as clear or sharp as our very old (2012) Samsung 55UE6530 which has an incredible picture no matter what source we are watching from.
Sony always beat other brands for standard definition stuff as the processors are so good at upscales and smoothing. did you pick one yet as I'm also torn between this and a qn95c and I know the Sony is quite clearly better than the Samsung at smoothing and upscales

Between the two it's difficult to say which we prefer the viewing angles are better on the S95C, but the overall image probably goes to the X95L as there have been several times while watching a movie or program/series where we have said "wow" (but in truth it's an incredibly close call between the two). That said the S95C has more HDMI 2.1 inputs, a gaming centre in it's OS and a OneConnect box which is fantastic.
@@marvinkmooneyozOLED suffers from near black uniformity issues and crushes shadow detail. It has burn in issues and image retention. ABL can really knock things way down when gaming. All of these things are something the X95L doesn't suffer from.
X95L for me. I was comparing the two side by side at my dealer (dark room, both screens ISF-Calibrated). I have an LG Oled today and I never thought I would go back to LED. A80L have the oled contrast going for it but what surprised me was that some black parts of the picture actually had what I can only describe as crushed blacks. The X95L showed details within those black parts that I couldnt see on the oled. Well, not saying the X95L beats A80 oled, but its so close that it comes down to what you value with the picture
I'm really interested in buying this 65inch tv as I'm unsure about the current Oled tvs and there panel durability due to risks of screen burn etc. I would probably have to place this tv on a cabinet with the narrower feet configuration • Is it quite stable when in this position/set up?

Hi Code, I've not tried either the LG C3 nor G3 so I am reluctant to say how good they are compared to the X95L. However, I like OLED televisions and earlier this year purchased the Samsung S95C (a second generation Quantum Dot OLED TV), which is fantastic! You can see my review for it here: ruclips.net/video/pR4ZqfIPET0/видео.html , and it's very difficult to say which of the two televisions we prefer as they both have their pro's and con's... although... the X95L probably pip's it but only by the NARROWEST of margins! In the absence of having [yet] seen or tried the LG offering I wouldn't want to say how good I feel they are compared to the X95L, suffice to say that both the X95L and S95C are EXCELLENT televisions and come highly recommended. Have you also seen or considered Sony's latest A95L OLED offering?

If you mean inches then that is incredibly close, that said have a look here 1.53 where the recording was made a few inches away from the panel and see what you think of the pixilation for yourself. Pixilation side, the panel gets very warm too so if you are sitting this close to the TV then I strongly suspect you will find it uncomfortable and I wouldn't advise doing so. However, if you mean 8 to 10 feet away then the image/TV is fantastic and you shouldn't have any concerns! 🙂

Hi Declan, thanks for the comment. I guess it depends what you need to clean off the screen, but for myself I can vouch for the fact that cleaning the screen has been very easy. My young daughter (much to my horror at the time) recently smeared lypsyl all over the screen that stayed on for a couple of days. After the screen cleaning kit I ordered arrived it all came off very easily and hasn't left a trace.

Assuming you mean the X95L 85" and X95L 65" then the only difference is the screen size is larger on the 85" (i.e. it is 85 inches wide measured diagonally from one corner to the other corner), whereas the X95L 65" is 65 inches wide. Aside from that they are the same.
@james_newall The X95L 85'' uses a different panel from the 75'' & 65'' I'm not entirely sure what the difference is hence the query. Digital Trends review of the X95L pointed it out (Timestamp -Drawbacks) actual reviews on the 65'' & 75'' models are thin on the ground. Maybe it it's only the anti glare coating that's the main difference 🤷♀

I have the Sony x930e and that thing was a light cannon for the time, but these mini led TVs have finally created a solid competitor to OLED. I always feel like mini led TVs have a naturalness to them that I just don't get from an OLED. Not sure what it is
Get the X95L, it's the best of both worlds combined. You get very close to OLED but without the drawbacks including the ABL, near black shadow detail and black level uniformity issues. The Z9K is too bright for its own good, it just can't suppress the blooming to the extent that the X95L can and it's still plenty bright with no ABL which means it will hold the brightness where the A90J will begin to dim almost immediately after a bright screen but worse is that it can't even get over 200 nits on a full screen where the 85X95L can hit 750 nits full screen and hold it there. I've had OLEDs and Flagship LCD's like the 75Z9D. This is the best tv all around it can do it all. Just make sure to use the Custom Picture Mode as the other modes don't unleash the full potential of the Local Dimming Algorithm. Luckily the Custom mode is the most accurate picture out of the box.
@@SpencersStuffTV there won't be a Z9M. You'll have to wait until 2025 for the Z9N. Sony usually produces a Z series Flagship every 3 years. If they stick their usual timeline than this next year will be what I call a refresh. They use the same models of this year and drop pricing. They may add software features and some internal hardware upgrades like 4 HDMI ports, etc. But the year after is where they completely step up. So they will introduce a new processor chip XR- Reality Pro/Ultra or whatever they call it along with the Z9M. Here's the history of Sony Flagships. X950B 2013 (135 dimming zones), Z9D 2016 (65" 600, 75" 800, 100" 1,000 zones), Z9F 2018 (Fake Z Series with a paltry 100 dimming zones, it also broke the 3 year cycle which indicates further that it was not a real Z series), Z9G 2019 (768 zones, the real Z series successor back on track for 3 year trend with reintroduction of the backlight Master Drive which F series was missing), Z9K 2022(75" 840, 85" 768 zones), (if Sony continues this 3 year trend then the Z9N will be released in 2025. Good luck on that wait and I'm sure it will be a very expensive TV just like all the previous Z series. Which I have no issue with as I paid $8,000 for my 75Z9D and $5,500 for my 85X95L. But the Z series always roams at $6,000 - $9,000 unless it's at the end of lifetime cycle and they stop selling it in year 2 when it goes on clearance. It can drop to as low as $4,000.

I have the same model, blooming is a non-issue, obviously there's blooming but you need to really be looking for it and be in a completely dark room.

The X95L is a fantastic television, but which television do you like?
If you dont need the extra brightness of a non-OLED, are there other benefits of an X95L versus an equivalent priced OLED?
