the first 2 lines you hear are kindred voice lines :) - first time we finally got Kindred (the manifestation of Death) in a cinematic - it was so awesome - the movements - the cinematography and the fight with wolf - just WOW! Also : nothing can compare to our favorite epic music composer 2WEI. They did it again - such an amazing song! And: Best couple moment 2024 of Ashe and Tryndamere.
The ending part is really cool. Buff guy in the snow with a sword has an abbility that makes him immortal for some time. And we can see him Fighting someone named Kindred. They are basically the grim reaper of leauge universe. And thats so cool to think about, it changes his Immortality ability thats ussualy overused in alot of games and shows into something cool cause he could be fighting Kindred aka the grim reaper to save his life every time he uses it.
What the guy with the big sword was fighting is Kindred. The equivalent of death in league or grim reaper, he was fighting against death (which is his ultimate, of not being able to die for 5 seconds). So basically everytime he uses ultimate he has to fight the grim reaper for his life back

Last girl with arrow was Ashe(his wife) who saved her husband from Kindred(Death). Only those who's about to die see her. That white arrow who killed that old samurai(which was Yasuo) was arrow from Kindred.
I don't know the timeline for the lore so Ashe generation after Yasuo's or or she aged like fine wine? Old yasuo makes me kinda sad.

@@maxbracamonte7142 Actually it makes sense… that would explain Kayle’s surprise/disappointment peek at Morgana… discovering she’s supporting her for the first time with fallen/dark powers instead of channeling the celestial light
The three stories are all tied to Kindred (wolf and Lamb. They are like the embodiment of death in league, Lamb (the character with the bow and mask) represents the acceptance of death and Wolf represents the violent struggle against it. The song is Kindred reminding you that they are still there, death is never far away. (and they will always be there, in the past, the present and the future as you can see is also a theme in this video)
In the scene with Kayle and Morgana (Daughters to the aspect of justice, kinda celestial beeings) fighting Aatrox (a darkin) you can see Kindred in the fire at the end of the scene. (They are probably there for the army behind Aatrox close to the end, since we know that the three main characters are still alive since this is an event from the past)
The scene with Yasuo (in a future vision) You can in the tree line see Wolf's eyes, but since Yasuo accepted his death Lamb's arrow is the one that took him out.
And lastly Tryndamere at the end defies both Wolf and Lamb, fighting against death, with Lamb then lowering her bow at the end as he is saved by Ashe (his wife).
And also see how it implied that he's the only one seeing wolf and lamb as this fight happens since he is on the brink of death, litterally staring death into it's eyes, and he's acctually in another fight against other humans that you can see Ashe shoot at the end to save him, and you see Kindred dissapear since he is no longer "supposed to die". (Tryndameres ultimate in game is that he kinda gets too angry to die, which is basically whats shown here, but this is how he sees it.)

Such subtle hints, such good story telling love this cinematic.

It took me a few rewatches but I'm so glad I'm not the only one who caught those. The whole cinematic is basically Kindred hunting/coming to take the dead through time.
Just a master class in story telling.

I was planning to do an explanation too but good to see one here. Let me just add a few missing points or fine details.
-Who is kindred? -> they are death. Both of them together is kindred. They are actually the lamb and wolf.
- Aatrox (the big red guy) is a darkin. They are super beings corrupted by blood magic and they cannot be killed. They can only be sealed and Aatrox true form is actually the sword. The body you see in the video is just a host to wield the weapon which is Aatrox. So when the fire happens and kindred's shadow appear the lamb is only just watching Aatrox and not shooting an arrow is because Aatrox can't actually die. So Kindred can't take him away.
- The Yasuo story line checks perfectly, the 2 eye in the shadow indicating the wolf and then the arrow from the lamb comes and Yasuo accepts his fate to die.
- Tryndamere story is a bit deeper. His ultimate in the game is that he cannot be killed for couple of seconds and that actually comes from the story that Aatrox gave Tryndramere Blood magic while he tried to take over his body for a better host. In the fight Tryndramere vs Kindred when Tryndramere destroys the Lamb's bow the lambs jumps back and tilts its head looking surprised. Then the lamb actually realises that Tryndramere cannot be killed because of the blood magic, so they can't take him away (kill him). And the actual fight that tryndramere had was against the enemy soldiers and he just hallucinated that he was fighting against Kindred.
- Super Fine detail: Aatrox actually drops the sword at the end of his scene which means he will disconnect from the host and will be in his sealed weapon form. This will make it possible for later in the future to give the power to Tryndramere.
Fact to Kindred (wofl and lamb) - not only are they death. They were once one person, but death was alone so he took an axe and split himself in half. So he would always have a friend.

You must have been really touched by the Tryndermere death battle sequence, saw the tears coming out between Kindred about to execute the death blow and then disappearing when Ashe comes into the scene.

4:50 kindred (white furr girl with black mask is lamb, black wolf is...wolf, together they make kindred) showing up is BIG deal, she is literally death personified, i really really recommend reaction/watching videos on her and her lore, it is one of the best (if not the best) takes on death as a character ive seen ever

They need to make a whole theatre movie using these same soundtracks and graphics. Itll top charts probably surpass avatar. It just wont be cheap to make tho. Its insane how good it is tho the fact it got you teary 😂
They have an opportunity to take popular culture by storm. Even people who know nothing about League lore get swept up and emotionally invested in the characters coz these cinematics are so epic and well done. Hopefully Arcane season 2 will be the trigger that sets it off. MCU and other superhero properties are fading, there's a void to be filled if Riot wants to take the shots.

2. Not sure, about this, but looks to be an Older version Of Yasuo, but haven't read this in the existing lore yet
3. Tryndamere, vs the manifestation of Death Kindred (Wolf and Lamb), and Ashe, his wife, comes to save him.
It is old Yasuo, the scar is there and all the obvious he does are there too (wind, wind wall and etc.). I can't believe so many people missed this.
i have a theory that may be Souma, yasuos master who was killed by riven (guessing he is not dead), for me there is no reason to have such and old yasuo

Kindred literally says Yasuo's verse at intro "Tomorrow is a hope, never a promise" So yeah it was yasuo.
Not necessarily light and darkness but rather punishment and redemption no? theyre two separate aspects of justice. Yasuo one seems to be his dying day since he accepts the "kindness" of the lamb with that glowing white arrow while the wolf is waiting for him. You can see the wolf at 4:30 .
I'd never have expected Kindred(the lamb and wolf at the end) show up in one of these. Finally getting the respect they deserve :D
This years Cinematic was such a W, watched it 3 times with hype tears in my eyes and then came straight here :D
Seeing Kindred (Death in the form of a Lamb and a Wolf) fighting Tryndamere, a man refusing to die with undying will was just one of the moments that made me so hyped.
Why do I tear up as well in that first and last scene 😭If you understand the lore behind each fight you will get to realize how epic and meaningful each encounter was.
The last fight was between Tryndamere and the incarnation Death itself - Kindred. The way she look and amazed at his will to survive despite Death is calling him ~chill. When the two arrows came, they brought light and showed that Tryndamere once again won in the fight for his survival. Truly a masterpiece 🔥
Riot Games literally has done it again! Year after year (except last year lol), they never disappoint with their cinematic trailers and music. Can't wait for the Riot MMO!

The lore of the cinematic as i take it:
In first scene we see Kayle and Morgana, they are fighting side by side both having their powers, when both of them are pushed to their limits Morgana gives away her powers as aspect of justice and binds Aatrox even if for a moment, then we can see Kayle taking Morgana powers representing her taking Morgana's sword and looking at her sister with disgust, when Morgana falls to the ground Kayle ascends and kills the host of Aatrox, we can see lamb in the flames showing his death.
In the second scene we see bandits raiding ionian village and yasuo as old man standing his ground, each time he uses his power bondages on his arm unravel and at the end we can see his acceptance and kindred's arrow ending his life, we can see wolf in the shadows right before arrow falls.
In the last scene we see Tryndamere fighting against a group of enemies, it is represented as him fighting kindred both wolf and lamb refusing to die, his red eyes represent his ability to become immortal for short period of time, in the final scene we can see kindred lowering her bow when ashe saves him from last enemies just in the moment he is about to die, seeing that its not the time to claim tryndamere, kindred disappears.
This cinematic represents that death is timeless showing one scene from the past one from present and one from future, it also shows both aspects of kindred, when Aatrox's host dies we see lamb idle while wolf delivers the final blow, wolf hunts down those who resist death.
When yasuo dies the wolf waits as the lamb's arrow is the final moment. Lamb brings peaceful death to those that accept it, tryndamere fights both wolf and the lamb defying natural order using his powers and in the end does so successfully avoiding death.

a little bit of contest:
first scene: kayle (the blond angel) and morgana (the purple angel) r sisters fighting aatrox a darkin (idk much abt that fight tbh)
2d scene: that old man is Yasuo that scene haad me crying (maybe maayyyybe he finally found peace upon him that s why he was using a stick instead of a sword at the beggining) and at the end of the scene u can see 2 red eyes in the forest, that s kindred coming for yasuo s soul. yasuo closed his eye accepting his fate (that s what i think).
3d scene: the man we see at first is tryndamere, the thing he was fighting is kindred, represent death itself, whenever death is near, kindred appears, tryndamere s ult is Undying Rage whenever he s near death he becomes unvulnerable, in that scene we can see that whenever he s near death he s fighting kindred to stay alive. that was so clever from RIOT games to put it that way.

Interestingly enough, this entire trailer is about Kindred, the duo of Lamb and Wolf. You can see Lamb silhouette in Kayle's firewave (during transition into Ionia scene), Wolf silhouette in arrow rain when Yasuo is looking toward mountains and Tryndamere fighting them both.
the awesome part on the last fight scene is that the guy with the big sword (tryndamere) is dying, and the big wolf and white archer (kindred) is basically a representation of the grim reaper. Since tryndamere is still fighting on for his dear life, the wolf would keep attacking him. When the final woman (ashe) came in, basically it's saying that he is saved so that's why kindred left

I just watched like 15 or 20 reactions videos of this cinematic. I wanna thank you, because your reaction is literally what happened in my mind
I pulled up the video before watching this, and even then, it brought tears to my eyes. The whole message of "I'm still here," along with the theme of pushing through adversity is very significant to me. I've been through a lot over the last few years. Over the last decade, honestly (though, it was one of those 'if you put a lobster in a pot of cold water and raise the temperature, they won't notice until it is too late' kind of decades). But I've survived it and I'm moving on from all of that, and in the last year, as I've been focusing on rebuilding myself, this whole message of "I may be beaten down and tired, but I am still here despite all of that" is very much frontmost in my brain.
But, apparently, this one is a fully canon cinematic from League, and it is filled to the brim with lore deep cuts. I actually watched a video from Necrit going over the lore in it. I knew... next to none of the lore going into this, but one thing is that the character with the round glowing eyes and the wolf are, fundamentally, this world's embodiment of death, and they show up in each of the three scenes. In the one with the 'valkyries,' as you called them, it doesn't step in because that great demon isn't able to die. In the middle story, you see the wolf as the arrows are flying up to come down on the samurai character (who is the guy with the wind powers, just decades later than the in-game present), and the one that comes straight for him is the same kind of glowing arrow that we see the death archer firing in the last scene, implying that this is his death years later. Most interestingly, the scene implies that he's at a point in life where he has forsaken killing - none of the bandits that he fights are killed. Even the leader, who he blasts with the wind... it seems as though he is knocking him away from the rain of arrows. And the last scene is a character... having a kind of near-death experience, with some of the implications being that he isn't actually fighting death, but rather the warriors who were surrounding him in the first place. Phenomenal storytelling all around!

That Kayle ult scene, and Trynd fighting Kindred was so Epic. I especially love Kindred's head tilt, it's so good at showing her manner as an ethereal being. It just so epic! Omg I can't even explain how I feel about this
Man the details:
- When Morgana drop his sword and Kayle took it and lvl up to 6 having auto attacks with range.
- When Yasuo, I think it's him, is going to die you can see the last framethe shadow of the forest taking the form of the Wolf that Kindred has.
- Finally Trynda, figthing "death", but at the end you can see the bodies that try to kill him... and when his ulty run out Kindred desapears.

I greatly appreciate how much these LoL cinematics affect you. I, too, get quite moved by a few of them, as someone who started playing League in 2013, before it was anywhere nearly as pretty or refined as it is now, and when there was like 4 animations for the game.
Also, this may be awesome to you, but for those of us who play any of these champions, this was the biggest W in quite some time!
Kindred(Lamb & Wolf), Kayle(the white winged bigot angel), and Ashe(ice magic archer queen) are some of my absolute favorites I play, when it calls of them. Seeing especially Kindred, whom have never been showcased in a cinematic that I know of, and Kayle and her sister Morgana(whom I intend to play one day), in the BIG ONE to start off the season, is damned heartfelt and powerful.
Bro if i didnt hold back i wouldve cried too, im a BIG fand of the wolf and lamb at the end, and i got goosebumps when i saw them, theyre not that popular so i just couldnt hold back the emotional feeling of seeing my buddies finally getting some love. And big time at that.
I also got so shocked and emotional with this cinematic!!!!! Its amazing i love that someone that dont know league of legends can also enjoy these cimenatics!

Champions in this cinematic by scene:
- Morgana (dark wings) & Kayle (light wings) are sisters who are fighting Aatrox (demon-looking guy, he is a "darkin")--this appears to take place long in the past
- Yasuo (wind samurai), but he is much older here than in-game, so this takes place in the future
- Tryndamere (warrior) is fighting Kindred (the personification of death, Lamb has the bow, Wolf is the, well, wolf) and he is saved by Ashe who is canonically his wife

the wolf and lamb is Kindred the personification of death, thats why the dying man is fighting them. And also why they back of when he is saved.

Champion overviews in order of visual appearance! Love seeing you get so excited about this universe along with the rest of us.
Tryndamere (big sword dude from the start) - Warrior of the Freljord, a berserker whose ultimate ability allows him to defy death for a few seconds
Morgana (purple wings) - A skilled mage who uses techniques focused on binding and leeching the life of her enemies, very much a literal fallen angel, but one who chose to fall in order to better protect what she cared about.
Kayle (too many (white) wings) - A zealous believer and protector of her faith. Also an angel. She's an incredibly strong combatant but you can see her disdain for Morgana's use of "forbidden" arts, despite it being an attempt to protect her sister and their people.
Aatrox (leathery looking chap with the giant pulsating sword) - the Darkin Blade. A living weapon that possessed a being and drives him to fight, he seeks an opponent that may end his torment. I think. Darkin lore is my weak point.
Yasuo (Super Murder Grandpa, I guess) - The wandering swordsman dude from multiple previous cinematics, easily one of the most recognisable faces to the community. He travels the land protecting the weak as was taught to him by his master, but also (as of a few years back, likely no longer the case so far in the future) to atone for killing his brother Yone in a duel. These would appear to be his final moments, facing down Kindred's arrow within the volley he walked in front of to protect that village.
Kindred (fluffy masked archer and her weird looking chihuahua) - They are death. Wolf and Lamb. The fate that awaits those who would run from death and those who would accept it. Death clove himself in two with an axe, so that he would always have a friend.
Ashe (the less ominous archer at the end) - Queen of one of the tribes of the Freljord, and Tryndamere's wife. Master archer and honestly underserved by her skin lines imo

Fun that u mention' Endgame' , apart from league cinematics it's the only example that comes directly to mind when I think 'When did I cry due to epicnes?
Yet I played since season 1 so it's too late for me... but it's even more epic recognizing the skills from the game and learning about lore.
I am mono kayle (the blond girl) but when i started to play lol the first champ that i got M7 was morgana (her sister), there is alot of champions in this cinematic, the old samurai is a character from awaken (that guy that summon a fucking tornado), the "viking" guy is a character called tryndamere, his ult let him be immortal for a short period, the two characters that he was fighting are called kindred, they are the death from the lol universe so they were trying to catch tryndamere while he was immortal.

You should definitely watch Necrit's breakdown of this cinematic, dude is the LORE god, he knows everything about League. But a couple of things if you want:
1)we start with quote from Kindred, the lamb and the wolf from final fight, basically embodiment of death
2)Tryndamere is lying in the snow with enemies around him
3)Angel looking women are Kayle (light one) and Morgana (dark/purple) defending Demacia from Aatrox's attack (he's a corrupted demi-god who cannot die and he actually lives inside the big sword). Morgana leaves her sword and uses magic (which is kinda banned in Demacia) so Kayle disgusted picks up her sword and uses both to defeat Aatrox (Kindred is visible in the flames unable to take Aatrox)
4)Bandits attacking a village in Ionia. This is actually in the future and the old man is Yasuo (well known character), swordsman with the Wind Technique who can block any projectile with his Windwall, which is explicitly shown, so that when he dies to the arrow later we know it's his choice to accept death (Wolf's eyes are visible in the forest and Kindred's light arrow kills Yasuo)
5)back to Trydamere who is fighting Kindred, fighting death, and gets saved by his wife - Ashe. Fighting the wolf is actually fighting the enemies we see at the beginning of the video, and the whole Kindred stuff is kinda imaginary/implied death realm. I don't think we know if Tryndamere actually sees the Lamb&Wolf or the human enemies
All 3 scenes are told by or at least feature Death (Kindred - an entity consisting of the Lamb and the Wolf, Lamb's arrow grants you a peaceful death while wolf comes for those who refuse to die). 1st scene is in the past, where Kindred is shown in the flame and tries to take Aatrox (big sword guy) soul, but he always comes back as his soul is in the sword, Kindred can be seen for a brief moment in the fires. The 2nd scene is the potential future, where Yasuo accepts Lamb's arrow and dies, you can also see Wolf's eyes in the background. And the 3rd one is Tryndamere refusing to die therefore fighting Kindred (his ultimate ability - the red eyes) but his wife (Ashe) saves him at the end.
That count down music during the waiting hyped it up already quite a bit, but it lived up to it more than enough. The music was epic as ever. The only part that felt weak to me were the movements in the old man's part. It felt like the slashes didn't connected, but the last part with the wolf fight was so cool. League just can't be defeated in the MV field.

The past is old demacia when Kayle and Morgana was still working together and they were picking their paths, back when Atrox wanted to destroy the world so he could die..
Present was Yasuo being shown by kindred one of his ways he could die, if he doesnt change his path. (His new skin Foreseen)
Future is Trynda being on the brink of death, the lamb coming for him as lamb is death, and wolf hunting him as trynda does not wanna die. But his love is the light that pulls him out of the darkness

There seems to be a lot of discourse over what happened with Tryndamere and Kindred, so i guess ill add my two cents to the pot. Tryndamere's abilities were granted to him by Aatrox (The big demon guy in the beginning of the cinematic) imbuing him with Darkin (Darkin are basically demons) blood magic. Not only is he stronger than a normal human, but he has the ability to rapidly heal his wounds when his emotions are heightened, but he is not immortal even though his abilities give off that impression. This means that he constantly uses his abilities tango on the verge of life and death. In the beginning of the cinematic we see him surrounded by 4 men, and on the verge of death. We also see the silhouette of who im assuming is Ashe (his wife) in the distance surrounded by this holy sort of light. The next time we see him he wakes up in what appears to be a different forest that could be the spirit realm or it could just be a hallucination brought on by the activation of his ability, i dont really know either way. Anyway Kindred is there because he is on the verge of death, and as Runeterra's embodiment of death it is her job to take him. Because he is rejecting his death, the wolf attacks him alongside Kindred. (Im aware that the wolf and the lamb are technically the same entity but its easier to explain this way) Personally I believe that he is fighting Kindred in the spirit realm while simultaneously using his abilities to fight off the four guys surrounding him, and it is my belief that he was able to kill two of the four before Ashe shows up to finish off the last two. Upon seeing Ashe i can only assume he was filled with hope and love, emotions just as strong as rage, and since there is no longer anyone around to hurt him, his abilities heal his mortal wounds. Since he is no longer on the verge of death, Kindred retreats. If this theory has any holes in it, I adore league lore so lets discuss it!😊

okay this has to be my favorite cinematic tho it probably isnt the best one.. it just made me feel a certain way because it had most of my favorite champions...
here is some explainations to what is happening in chronological order.
you first hear "Tomorrows a hope, never a promise" a voiceline from Kindred, lamb and wolf. they are known cannonically as death cause they are the bringers of death, when you see them you are already dead. if you run you find wolf chasing you and if you submit then lamb mercy kills you with an arrow.
You see a man laying down, Tryndamere, a king known for being unkillable by fighting death off with rage alone. you then see from Tryndameres perspective him looking through a group of assailants to a womanly figurre distant behind them which leads viewers to believe that this is Lamb waiting to collect Tryndamere. more on this later.
Next scene you see a war torn battlefield with two winged women adorned in armor, this is Kayle (white) and Morgana (purple). They look up and fly into the sky towards the only lit area and you see a red almost volcanic looking winged man, this is Aatrox, TL:DR he is mad at the world and is destroying everything and everyone till there is nothing left. The spin Aatrox does in the sky is a move he does in game. K&M come crashing down and soon follows Aatrox where Morgana goes to do all she can to bind him (Binding is something she does in game) then you see Kayle get up, pass up Morgana, who is sacrificing herself to hold Aatrox, and then her eyes/wings glow (her ultimate in game) then she throws out an X of fire (her auto attacks at lv 11 in game).
Next scene is of a place on fire, being attacked by doods, none of this is lore related that im aware of.. this is Yasuo as a grandpa, he is younger. or maybe its his dad, or maybe it is Master Yi's grandmaster but i dont think so. only thing that makes most sense is Dusty-suo. cutting the arrow in half, making a wall of wind, dashing through opponents, and throwing a tornado are all his abilities in game. so seeing it here it makes the most sense.
to come full circle you see Tryndamere still lying down.. get up lazy bum.. the snowflake has a meaning and youll know at the end. Tryndamere gets up you see a small thin white figure in the back, that is Lamb(kindred) then out comes wolf, remember wolf comes for those who run from death. deflecting wolf so many times, Tryndamere goes on the offensive, his eyes go red (this is his ultimate in game/literally becomes so angry that even death cant kill him). you see him spin through wolf and towards lamb, that is a move of his in game. Kindred/lamb hops back which is a move of theirs and i guess you can say having wolf attack from a distance is also a move of theirs as well. then you see kindred about to fire another arrow but two arrows come from behind lamb, these were not pointed at Lamb or Wolf, no one can see them besides those they hunt (usually for the exception of demons i think). then you see Tryndamere's eyes change and you see Ashe, his wife. he is no longer angry, nor is he about to die.. kindred is gone, the fighting is over.
Ashe shoots out an arrow up into the sky. in the game ashe can shoot an arrow across the map to give vision along the way and it leaves a snow trail which explains the snowflake that fell on his sword and ashe in the beginning and end showing up. this all happened in seconds, she showed up shot two arrows and that was it. but so awesome.
Line kindred says in game "All will know us in time" cause kindred is forever.

Kayle, Morgana and Attrox is Past Event also If you look at kayle when morg ult you can see the ick and disgust on her face, Yasuo is in POSSIBLE Future Event where he accept death which you can see the arrow and the sillohoutte of wolf, the Tryndamere is in Present Event where Ashe save him from death which is Kindred.

The archer girl with mask (lamb) and the wolf called Kindred. They are death.
The dude with the sword at the end, he cheats Death when fighting enemies. So whenever he uses his ultimate, he sees Kindred which is death itself. The archer girl show up at the end actualy his wife. So when his wife come to save him, Kindred leave because there is no life to collect anymore.
