- We got the new Akaso Brave 8. How does it compare to the Gopro 10? At just over half the cost, is the Akaso good enough? 4k 60p, 480 fps slow mo?! Is it good? The 8 is a total piece of garbage though. I mean .. they have even stopped updating the lab firmware for it as of January .. that's at least how it seems.
@@Marlow925 95% of people/market who are using their gopro's daily won't need the lab firmware. And in the GoPro 8's price range (300USD), there is no action camera coming close in my experience. But I would love to hear what camera is better at 300 bucks.
I agree that GoPro cameras have a lot of issues, due to them pushing so much from those lil cameras, but it's still the best out there.

DJI took so many shortcuts with the Hero 8. I mean, not being able to replace the lense is a big no no.

I have the Brave 7 Plus, and was hoping that the Brave 8 would be a true GoPro hero 9/10 contender... I record trail running videos and have been really impressed with the GoPros. I went with the 7 Plus for it's much lower price point, and while it get's the job done, it also leaves me always wanting more. I also wish the Brave 8 external audio/mic would have been improved over the 7 Plus (which is very quiet), and while the 8 is better, it's still nothing compared to the GoPro. Great video and I love your sarcasm!
Akaso is targeted at budget action camera. They literally posted a review on their instagram where a reviewer said GoPro was better but Akaso was more affordable, and it seems they were proud in that statement, lol,
Well I do not want to spent 500 dollars plus for only a action cam .. I like to spent less and have a less quality for my kind of filming, not extreme action but action.... I think for that the brave 7 le is the best option.... or maybe in the future they do a lot of upgrading to the brave 8
@@fpvdronie9276 since I last made the comment above, I have bought a GoPro 10 when it was on sale. Spent $350 on it. I'll tell you that I am absolutely amazed at how much better the GoPro is. The image quality and colors are so much cleaner and the audio is far better than the Brave 6 Plus. Well worth getting the GoPro for me!
@@SeeChadRun well I checked the price for the go pro 10 in the netherlands and its € 445,- its way to expensive for me at the moment, damm war in okraine cost a fortune at the moment, our gas bill went up double the price.. pffff we all have to suffer it seems.... probably I buy the brave 7 and make the best of it.... I think its good for my ugly face to have less image quality 😆
Not too shabby. I expected worse from Akaso. Colors actually look kinda pleasing. Better than DJI. But still you should expect more for the price

Wow. I thought it was the GoPro at the first part. The Akaso just looks so good.
Used to watch you solely for entertainment, however as I look for a new camera for video outdoors I have come to truly appreciate the theme song of your channel! Some folks seem to do a good job on their channel with an iPhone (and ding, ding, we have the 13, a lightweight contender who now holds it own often against many much bigger cameras), and then there are those who push more technical boundaries that are often lost in the world of social media and use Sony or Canon for the perhaps overrated bokeh, but very fast autofocus, though often at the expense of stabilization if more run and gun...and the M43 folks with typical wonderful stabilization but slower autofocus (Panny software has improved it a lot and Oly has become almost Sony like), but often a little darker in tone to watch or record (more realistic ?). What to do? Well on those days of being overwhelmed I choose to relax and simply go back to enjoy watching you for entertainment, often sprinkled with your good advice. Thank you!

I don't know how you edit your videos but you get produce the crispiest, most natural looking video out of any camera.

Gopro is superior, of course but I bought an Akaso a few years ago. It was not a horrible camera. It was fun to use and like 10x less then a Gopro.

Akaso looks really bad by comparison. I actually like the GoPro 10, but then I like the 8 and 9 too. Sure there are limitations but for what they're intended and for a portable vlogging tool I just think it's a decent option

Also is the best budget camera around,mine came without battery,on the USB cord forever now.
The GoPro always looks like its a sunset outside on all the tests I've seen. Its weird.
I have the Akaso Brave 6+ (I have the mike - the audio is still rubbish for Vlogging - but OK for Motovlogging). I think the stabe is better in the 6+. Also, I shot some 4K slow-mo on my 6+ - I was pretty happy with it. Best footage shot when cloudy... in my ...er...humble opinion. Bright sunlight creates tons of BAD highlights. The softer lighting in over-cast conditions helps a lot. Great video Kasey. You rock.
Akaso "chunky" looks like 720p -- GP10 looks OK compared to that.
Would the Akaso Brave 8 work well for getting decent 480fps quality from a tripod? Looking to use it to record myself and friend's tennis technique for analysis. If not, any suggestions for inexpensive 480fps at 720p or 1080p?
Quality isn't great. Huawei P40 pro is better but it does short .5 second bursts. Might be tough to get the perfect timing.
So how's the GP10 reliability so far?

LOL, ok so the Gopro finally wins one. Alrighty then!! Now what the hell would I do with that 480 fps slow mo? I need my life to move a bit faster. All kidding aside love the video and I still think you missed your calling. You video's are just to funny but definitely worth watching. I don't learn anything but I sure enjoy them.
I'm still loving my Hero 10, pretty rock solid so far and if, if and if again we get the update with the 24 fps ahhh life will be good.
