5:42 I think Glimmerglas works better on the GoPro and Black Mist works better on the Dji. I’m guessing that’s because the Dji hath more sharpening. Btw, I selfishly hope you get your hands on a ZV-1 again. the price has come down a lot, there are wide-lense converters available that are wider than the Ulanzi, and I own one, so you'd be propping up my self-esteem
Man your content is good. I usually have to enjoy 3 videos minimum with some decent value add to subscribe but you got the sub on first video! Something just made it really easy for me. I also just bought the GoPro 10. Im on a roll.
Thank for the advices and sharing how to setup gopro..I am using hero 8 always get glittery when the place got lamp..sorry for my English...hope you understand
in this video, the Glimmer Glass definitely looked better, I didn't find it subtle, I found it substantial which was nice confirmation that a filter can help. it certainly helped the dji. Here's the obvious way I saw that the GoPro was better: the clouds in the background were more defined, better dynamic range? is that what that amounts to? or more color depth? or both? maybe they have the same color depth in the file but the GoPro is encoding better? who knows. GoPro was better. but it wasn't enough to override ease of use and so who knows which one I would buy if I were looking.
This looks great, I've been shooting all my videos with the GoPro 10 and the Ulanzi cage except I use the plastic version which is way lighter. I never realized a filter could make such a big difference. Definitely going to pick one up to try. Thanks for making this video.
I shoot underground videos inside abandoned mines, so it's a very challenging environment. I use an Ulanzi cage for my GoPro 8 and an Aputure panel light all mounted on an 'L' handle. It's a bit heavy and awkward for crawling through places I shouldn't go, but the cage protects the camera and the clear filter protects the lens. I get surprisingly good video with the combination. I may upgrade to a GP10 (or 11 or 12) at some point, but for now it meets my needs quite well. SmallRig also makes cages for the GoPros.
Know this is a 7'ish month old vid... just wanted to post the G9-4 plastic cage is a fraction the weight of the metal g9-5 and just as good. Great vid mate!
BTW, the perfect action camera is this, the size of the DJI action 1, the stabilization of the Sony fdr x3000, the recording modes and profiles of the Sony a7siii, 6K 60fps unlimited with the stabilized horizon, global shutter, 13 mm focal lenght, noisless ISO3200, built in ND filters optimized for a shutter speed of 1/120, HDR10 or HLG, infrared recording up to 15 meters, GPS, etc.
My Hero 10 in 4k with sharpening on low looks great. I just posted a video from it using 4k low sharpening on my channel yesterday. Someone in a FB group was telling me there was a firmware issue that was causing footage to look low resolution and they had to manually reinstall the firmware by downloading it of the gopro website to the SD card to fix it. There is also a new firmware update as of 11/2. Might try updating your firmware and trying 4k again because mine looks nothing like your examples in your Hero 10 videos.
I have to say I love you and your content. I'm new to the camera world and I have a lot to learn. You mentioned a macro lens for your DJI . I stream with a Hero 9 and a Hero 7 black. Can I use a macro lens on the 7 to bring the focal point closer to what the 9 has?

The Ulanzi G9-4 Cage is made of plastic and considerably lighter than the aluminum G9-5. I believe the G9-5 is three times heavier than the G9-4: G9-5 - 187 grams G9-4 - 60 grams So, the plastic model might be an option for you if you want to lighten the overall rig. The plastic G9-4 is also considerably cheaper.
@@cameraconspiracies If you don't mind the extra weight, then the G9-5 is clearly the better choice. People have commented that the aluminum acts as an effective heat sink, and it prevents the GoPro from overheating as easily. The plastic G9-4 contains the heat, and I think it increases the likelihood that the GoPro will get too hot. Plus, the standard G9-4 has the GoPro mounting fingers fixed in place. They can't be removed, as they can be with the G9-5. Ulanzi used to make two versions of the G9-4 - one with the GoPro mounting fingers and one with a quarter inch tripod thread. But I haven't been able to track down the one with the tripod threaded mount. As far as build quality goes, I don't see a problem at all with the plastic G9-4. It doesn't feel cheap or flimsy to me at all. It feels quite solid and well-made. I like it a lot, and I far prefer it over using the GoPro Media Mod for many reasons. I always enjoy your videos. Thanks for making them. 🙂
