Great demo!! They should sell a lot of these. 'That' tone without the noise of both sides....half the size and cheap. I have 5 pedals from these guys already that are all just stellar. Especially for the $
@@BudgetPedalChap the Compressor 4 knob inspired by the Keeley... Incredibly versatile for any audio source. Awesome all around use compressor box for $40.
It's a blues breaker circuit with 2 dip switches in the back with an adjustable gain potentiometer. Hope this helps. Mxr made a smaller Duke of tone based off this.
Bought it, love it. But for now I hear little difference between the OD and distorsion channels, both clip pretty hard. Also, have you tried toying with the switches inside the pedal? I did but am not sure how they work and would be grateful to know how they affect each mode. The King of Drive instructions tel us "1 switch down=clean, up=OD. 2 switch is for DIST mode when up. When the DIST switch is up, the position of the 1 switch does not matter much but best if you turn it OFF for more clarity." But I'm not sure I hear that, nor how it pertains to those modes, and also the factory preset was off/off...
Please people don't buy with your eyes. It does indeed sound just like the Analogman which by the way is also made in China. Both are scratchy, harsh, thin and with sweet f. all sustain. It is based from the Marshall Blues Breaker pedal. The Demon FX Breaker Drive blows both the original POT and the DemonFX one out of the water!!! Trust me I bought the POT when it came out years ago. I do thank our host for another great review. If you haven't subscribed ...do it!! WTF! The guy busts his butt it is the least we owe him.
I'm pretty sure I've just got the king through in a shipment, so it should be coming in the next couple of weeks. The pos and the blues driver are kind of comparable, but I think the mid range in the POS is slightly more TS based and the BD is a higher mid peak. Both do a similar job tbf and I really get along with both circuits. Hope that helps some 👍
it does some. ;) But I'm still wondering if I'll "have" to buy a real BD some time, no clone ever seems to come close in any comparative I've ever watched!@@BudgetPedalChap
@@orpheus1340 I bought a BD a while back, the Digitech screaming blues was lower noise and better control. The TC cinders is a close second. That being said, if you're anything like me, you'll need to own the BD yourself to know that it's not even the best BD out there. Buy used, you'll always get your money back 😉🤣🤣
@BudgetPedalChap In every comparison I've listened to, the Cinders seemed a bit "weak" to me, lacking that "edge", and as a matter of facts so do all TC OD/Distorsions I heard. I dislike Boss pedals generally, the BD is the only exception. This being said, I just went and heard a comparative, the Digitech seems pretty good! But I'm afraid I'm way too much like you... 😞😆
Wouldn’t it be nice to listen the demon jay Ray vs the prince of tone? This one seems a bit harsh on the top end. In the other video with golden Jay Ray everything was so smooth and soft even with the gain cranked.
I use the same set up for each video (down to the same cables even), so I don't know how to explain the difference in tone between the two videos. One of life's great mysteries eh? 🤣🤣🤣
@BudgetPedalChap Yes, absolutely. There's a new pedal coming out nearly every day, and it's not necessarily so different from its predecessors. They're trying to convince the poor guitarist that he needs it 😆
I LOVE your reviews. No talking... just demos of a bunch of settings. Absolutely the BEST!
Cheers 👍 I was bored with the reviews that had a minute of playing and 10 minutes of talking so then my format was born

I gotta say, I've been tempted by a fair few myself. I think next up might be their analogman chorus clone. Are there any you'd recommend?

@BudgetPedalChap that was my first demon fx along with the percision drive! Excellent Analogman clone! You won't regret reviewing it!
Great demo of a really nice sounding pedal.
Just subscribed.
Keep up the good work.
Cheers, thanks for the support 👍
Looks like you found some inspiration with the drive "dimed" there at the 4:00 mark... get 'em... take no prisoners!
It's a great sound for sure 👍
You do it more justice than I did. 👋🏻
Cheers 👍 it's a great sound to work with, huh?
@@BudgetPedalChap it really is a great pedal
Even the Analogman website doesn't say clearly if this is the TubeScreamer or the BluesBreaker side of the King of Tone 🤔
I would say it is more BB voiced but I can't say for certain 👍
@@BudgetPedalChap Ok thx
wasn't the KOT two Bluesbreaker Style Circuits? The Dualist (Demonfx Dualgun) is a Tubecreamer into an Bluesbreaker i think
Yeah, they are modified BB circuits so I hear 👍

I haven't opened it up, I'll be honest I weren't even aware that I had dip switches 🤣🤣 I'll have a bit of a play about, thanks for letting me know 👍

I need more gain with the breaker drive though!! I do love it though
BTW, did you test the King if Drive? If so, do you think it would replace this one? And how would you compare the PoS to the Boss Blues Driver?
