  • I took a chance on an 87 International s1900 dump truck at an auction. It needed very little work and has already been a huge help to me. I think I will be keeping this one for awhile.

good music. when you hammer in the new bearing scale, use the old scale on top of it to hammer it down.

OH & the DUMP TRUCK it is a good one like it has been said INTERNATIONAL TRUCKS are not bad ones at all I used to DRIVE a INTERNATIONAL DUMP TRUCK for my local city & really had no complaints about it the one I drove the GAS BURNING 345 V 8 with a 5 SPEED TRANSMISSION with a 2 SPEED REAR END like yours has the one I drove was 1978 model & some were a little older than that but all had the 345 V 8 with 4 & 5 SPEEDS in them then they bought those new 1980 MODEL FORD F 700 DUMP TRUCKS those were JOKES they had the 370 V 8 s with a 4 SPEED AUTOMATIC OVERDRIVE & would not pull a HAIR OFF YOUR HEAD they were WEAK they also had some CHEVROLET 6500 SERIES TRUCKS with a 366 V 8 with a 4 SPEED TRANSMISSION with DUAL EXHAUST that would run CIRCLES around any TRUCK there they had 4 BARREL CARBURATORS on them they did like all of them had GOVERNORS on them

Its August 17,,2024 when I'm watching this and 2 weeks ago my dad bought a 1986 international S1900 dump truck with a DT466, in west Virginia and we live in Eastern Kentucky and the truck has not been tagged since 2006 and I drove it home it was 200 miles+/- and in 6th gear the fastest I was able to get it up to was 54 MPH, and we found out about 20 away from where we bought it that the water pump was leaking water so bad that we had to put 50-60 gallons of water in it over 2 days and about 20 stops and it took 2 days because the air compressor belt broke and we had to go to 7 different auto parts stores to find a belt that fit correctly, and as of today it hasn't hauled or pulled anything for us yet because I haven't got all the problems fix yet but it only has 58,xxx miles on it unless it has rolled over at 1,000,000 miles , but my point is that it seems to be a good solid truck

You have a scissors hoist might be set to far back my trucks had telescopic hoist mounted on front had a dog house around it you talking about 2 spead some people use clutch i never did get used to it you can stick the 2 speed between hi and low side and have no movement to rear end a friend of mine got his stuck city where it was setting was going to impound it would of been over 600 dollars what they told him so they took me out there and took cover off its a corkscrew and l moved it to high side of axle put back on cover and taped the button so would not move getting ready to leave and wrecker showed up so saved him some money got back to my shop and just put in a whole new unit cause he said tried the points in them didn't work imagine being on a hill and no power to rear end scary been there so respect your equipment i carried a grease gun in mine and between loads greased the whole thing drive train fro t end hoist box pins sometimes would have to jack up front et to get the king pins to take grease at the time a dollar tube of grease was a lot cheaper than replacement of parts 14:32 😊

I bet you knew when the steering wheel went to dancing a bit it was a crooked wheel or the bearing and the mud in the oil cap kinda took the guess out of that. I forget the name of those type wheels, nothing against them except getting them centered so they roll straight. I hate the brake system on the old corn queens as they are nothing but expensive to repair if you can find the parts. I had one with a three hundred cummins and it was a real sweetheart to drive. Never enough power but easy to maintain. Good find.
