I would definitely watch it. So much great music. You should listen to Tinariwen and Fatoumata Diawara as well. They' re from Mali as this lady is. If you' ve missed the Griot families in Gambia, you should check out the kora music too. SA had Lucky Dube, may he live in eternal peace. He was the greatest.

There has been someone posting rude comments on her personal channel too, thats why the comments on her own videos commentsections are shut off. This is soulfull music. Perhaps their brains was so tiny, they couldnt handle music that goes beyond two electronic loops after eachother and the same sentence said over and over again ? How much they get laid, how much money they have "sumthin sumthin". I do not mind electronic music if its done well, but.... (insert the character Elwoods little Speech in Blues Brothers 2). I listen to this song over and over sometimes, its my favourite of hers and the other musicians.

When Rokia sings "Africa Unite" she brings about the unification of all African People.
Though this song is from our Jamaican Bob Marley, Rokia being from the Mother Continent and singing in her African dialect, solidifies the significance of it's meaning.
She relates to it obviously. So much so, that she sings about it. My favorite performance.
Her beautiful African voice together with her backup singers and the haunting sounds of the ancient instruments in a resounding favorite of mine.

Many of Bob Marley's lyrics come from Marcus Garvey speeches and writings as some of these lines are in the spirit of Marcus Garvey and his writings on the unity of Africans, Africans in Africa, and Africans in exile in Babylon.

@Luca Bertani The problem is just that a lot of the music that the so called Black Americans created was inspired also by different sources like Latin Music and western classical music. (Miles Davis using harmonic structures and sequences taken from people like Debussy and Satie, and Coltrane using all kinds of traditional music from all over the world. Blues and western and country merged together to create a lot of music, e.g. rock music e.t.c.) No culture is really free from influence, roots and routes are always intertwined.
Arbitrarily attributing the musical development to one subculture within a country wont do.

The feeling is human power, I have cried during the last part of the video, incredible, I would have loved to be born in Africa, just being born there is already special and if it were not for the evil of the world against Africans, the Middle East, South America. .etc. life would be better, never stop fighting for a United Africa. This song and its interpretation is perfect, not even Marley could deny its perfection, its feeling everything ... the texts, speeches etc. of HIMHaile Selassie became music and through reggae he spreads his message so that we all get the lion from within and fight for the rights of all.
