In 1975 I was on a train in the south of Spain, headed for Morocco. In the compartment with me and a couple of Dutch guys and three Moroccans. One of the Dutch had an acoustic guitar; one of the Moroccans took it and started to play. He had no idea of playing chords on the guitar, but man, he kicked out a rhythm that was solid, unforgettable.

@@julieholland7696 Thanks for your response, Julie, I'm with you 100%. I lived in New York City until 1996, and for a long time one of my favorite musical destinations was the World Music Institute on White Street. Their concert program (organized by Robert Browning and his wonderful wife whose name I regret that I can't recall) was all over the map. Just to mention one ensemble, there was a small group of musicians from India who played their classical music. Among them was a woman who played the shruti - an instrument with which I was unfamiliar. A drone instrument, which she played before the others began to play, and continued to play during brief intervals between the separate compositions. The effect was that the music actually emerged from the sound of the shruti, and subsided back into it when the song was over. As if the sound of the shruti were truly the sound of the universe, and contained all the rest of the music, giving birth to it and enfolding it again at the end of each raga. Entrancing. Now my upstairs neighbor has a shruti which she plays occasionally, singing along. I have encouraged her, and wish she would play more often, but it's not easy for her with two little girls to look after! When I hear that sound I lie down on my bed and listen through the ceiling.

Music is music, no cultural or racial boundaries need exist. I'm an American ex-pat living in Japan - you should hear the music of this country, from the ancient court dance music to the very recent and silliest J-pop - it's the expression of people. Also please check out Habib Koite - he'll blow you away ...
No, you are a traitor because you fell for the bullcrap of "diversity" to make yourself look special to other people because you don't really believe in diversity. If you actually did believe in diversity you would say America is the most diverse place ever in the history of the planet and expresses cultures from everywhere. But no, your "diversity" means "I feel special for being complimented by diverse groups of people". You people need to get a mind and start thinking, you only went to Japan to show off your "moral superiority" because deep in your heart, as a white person you need to approve of other people to make yourself not guilty for dehumanizing them. You can hear Japanese music in America and by Japanese-Americans, but you are so "diverse" that you forget about them. Why don't you be honest with what YOU call minorities, that they aren't human unless you tell them they are? Show us that white man's burden, and explain it to them that as a white person you need to only give them as much material you want to, because you think they are too dumb to do it on their own and they are your burden because you have to do their thinking for them. Go ahead, white man's burden, tell the truth for once. I'm a white person, I know your white man's burden is just for those who you play the culture and race game with to show yourself superior while the whole time in your heart thinking they can only be human if you say they are. YES, it is YOU who have made racial and cultural boundaries, so don't tell us they don't exist. You just told the Japanese that they are cool because you, as a white person, "approves" of their music. White man's burden, and people like you suffer the worst under it because you got to continually swing that whip at the race you tied to the whipping post for your own lack of self-esteem needing to be given a pat on the head for thinking for other people. You want us all to say "oh look at you, such a broad-minded person" while swinging that race identity whip. Tell me I am wrong, because that is EXACTLY what you did here.
@@EileenMKeyes Good thing you really understood. No, to liberals we are not all human beings because it is liberals who divide us all in the name of "social justice" to pretend to the world they care so they can get cookies and pats on the head. Just a few weeks ago another social justice warrior said to me that because I don't agree with them, to do the world a favor and lick a toilet seat and get Corona and die. That is the liberal mindset. To say we are all human beings means we have to address the deeply ingrained bigotry and racism that is covert and not talked about. For instance, it is NOT saying we are all just human beings when saying that Hispanics should be here illegally because they pick our tomatoes, so just let them all come in and say nothing. The racism here is that Hispanics are singled out to not have the same moral standard of law for the purpose of using them as slaves to do the lowest manual labor jobs. So bring them all in illegally, give them benefits, just so they will keep picking tomatoes for us. And from that one example, shows the liberal lie that we are all just human beings if we are ok with certain groups of people singled out to be second-class citizens. Understand?

The bass lines are exquisite!
What I love about them is that they are breaking the western cliché of how desert sound like. Now the Hollywood movie makers surprised with a completely different desert theme music.

Music is music, no cultural or racial boundaries need exist. I'm an American ex-pat living in Japan - you should hear the music of this country, from the ancient court dance music to the very recent and silliest J-pop - it's the expression of people.
Also please check out Habib Koite - he'll blow you away ...

This is Algeria music Amazigh twarag tinarewen. Welcome to Algeria
@@moorek1967 We are all just human beings. Period.
Understand?
Respect from Brasil, amazing music, amazing culture you have!! Sahara live! the human being started there!!
