  • Moving two 920 pound gun safes usually isn't a big deal, except when you have to bring them up from a basement. Here is a video of our day, not so long ago, where we removed two gun safes from the basement of a house before transporting them to the client's new location. There were several challenges for us to overcome to make this a reality.
Thank you for watching and PLEASE, subscribe, like, share and tap the bell.

The stairclimber apparatus we used is an Ultra-Lift by the Ultra-Lift Corporation. www.ultralift.com
The trailer we use is manufactured by Advanced Metalworking Co, Inc. advancemetalwo...
The model of this trailer is called the Lift-A-Load (we use the small version with several custom add-ons.)
WARNING: The techniques utilized in this video are dangerous and can be deadly without the proper equipment and experience. We recommend that no one try to perform any of these techniques unless properly trained. Please hire only experienced and properly trained professionals to move your safes. Even the furniture moving companies rely on us to move safes.

Safe moving isn't for the faint of heart and it takes lots of planning, experience and communication before, during and after the safe is moved. Safety is always our number one priority. We are never afraid to let a customer know a job can't be done safely and pass on it, before we ever put our team members in harms way.

Nicely done by both these professionals! I have the very same safe and it took 3 smaller guys to install it!😮😅😂

Good grief! I was holding my breath for parts of that. Very cool to see how it's done. I just had a heavy fire-resistant filing cabinet delivered and they used the same lift dolly, but no steps in my job so its capabilities weren't really needed.

Thanks Mike, sometimes I hold my breath during parts of the move too (Amanda, here). We are careful every step of the way but these safes meant business!

Thank you Donnie! Glad you enjoyed it! Hopefully we will get the chance to add more safe moving videos soon. We've been too busy doing the moving to actually upload lately.

Hahaha. We sent the link for this video to the manufacturer of the Ultra Lift stairclimber. Their response was that "they were on the edge of their seat watching us." Then they told us the make and model of the replacement battery they now recommend.

JP. We have done some weird safe moves in the past. Some that others would walk away from. This one was typical except for the battery issue.

With how much these cost they really don’t paint the bottom side? Seems like a good place for rust to start

These safes are usually attached to a pallet or shipping rails before the construction begins. The paint is chosen usually after the work to build the safe has already started. Additionally, the bare metal is easier to work with when using rollers and other tools to move the larger safes. Movers/installer don't have to worry about paint flakes from the tools or paint transfers on floors.

      Hi Mike.
Your question is one that I can't answer. If your inquiry was about this particular job, we just don't talk about our clients and customers, not even about how much a job costs. I even had the permission of the homeowner before releasing this video.
Now if your question was because you need a safe moved, installed, delivered or adjusted; then again I can't answer. Not that I don't want to answer but I don't have enough information to provide a quote. Every safe install, delivery, removal, moving or adjustment is different. Every home or commercial setting is different. Thus every quote is different. I can't even provide an estimate without knowing more information. Quite often I will need to do a site survey before providing that quote.
I hope that I have answered your question satisfactorily. If you are in Illinois and need a safe moving or repair quote, please call our offices. We will be happy to assist if we can.
