- The plaintiff and defendant have been best friends since kindergarten, but everything changed one fateful Halloween night. The plaintiff says she and the defendant got into a huge fight on Halloween, which led to the defendant defaming and threatening her on Facebook Live. She’s suing for defamation of character. The defendant argues the plaintiff refused to answer her call and they could’ve solved this outside of court. She’s countersuing for emotional distress.

You said it perfectly. At the end of the day I understand she was frustrated because it was last-minute notice, however, her children are her responsibility. The plaintiff called her at 8 a.m. to notify her and at that point if she could not find someone to pick up her children she should have notified her boss that she has an emergency and would not be back for the second shift. It sounds like she was just mad because the plaintiff had something else to do.

People like this are NOT your friends! They are leeches who wait for the opportunity to suck you dry, and after they suck you dry they curse you for having no more to give. It doesn't matter when she told her to be honest. At least she told her in the morning instead of waiting to the afternoon. You're always supposed to have a backup. What if the plaintiff had been in an accident or some family emergency came up, then what? It's her own fault for not having another person in place.
