That 2:02 was probably the fastest that car has done around Assen. I find it an amazing achievement considering you only had a few hours of practice!

Albert drives like he owns the car, which he does, while Jimmy drives like he doesn't own the car, and he doesn't. ... :-) But indeed his laptimes were very good. Sadly our longer gearing only costs about 1 second a lap in the simulator Albert, so there goes that excuse.
Well I assume Charles can lap it a lot quicker. Would be fun to know what he can do. Not to diss Jim, just to compare.
@@hkr667 Yeah talent aside I'd like to see what someone with experience pushing just as hard would look like. But wow, I'm really happy for him. Makes me sad I gave up my racing. But it inspires me to the possibility of going back.

Yeah was gonna say the same. Coming from Sim Racing is helpful but not for the feel of the car. And if he loses that I reckon he could be not that bad indeed. This video definitely gives a lot of hope.

If you know the circuit, you throw it in, and hold it steady all the way in..
Opening up and accelerating in a perfect balance..
I think it's just a habit from sim racing, IRL you can feel the g-forces but in sim you just kinda have to keep testing the grip.
@@stupidrainbo well.. I have both Sim and real life on track footage.
If you're familiar with the actual track, steering input should be as consistent as possible..
Nonetheless, the shaking steering wheel is non Sim related 😛
I had the same problem when coming from sim racing, it can be quite dangerous lol but it’s an extremely hard habit to lose as it’s drilled into your head. Once you get used to being able to feel the G’s of the car to know if you have grip, it disappears but I found that when I got back on a sim, it screwed me over lol

you're a king jimmy. the world of racing is ego driven and some drivers don't care to talk too much about the talent of others, but no one can take away the skill you have now, and the work you've put in to get to this point.

2:02 on your first day? jimmy that is seriously impressive. i honestly believe you will be able to drive anything you have driven in sim in real life as well. if they gave you the keys to a GT3 car for a weekend all by yourself and let you just go practice with the thing. i bet youll be setting lap times very close to what you do on sim. your equipment really helped prepare you for this. the fact your not using some logitec g920.
Edit: also its very nice to see all the thousands of hours of practice you've had are really starting to shine. you really come into your own when inside the real car.
It's so cool to be (kind of) a part of your Journey. I've been around since you were a low budget shedracer and had about 5k subs or so, it's so crazy to see you now as a boa fide racing driver. Well fucking done mate, you're an inspiration and a really good advert for hard work and dedication.

2.02 is crazy well done Jimmer. Also, the camera moving slightly under G Force gave a real sense of speed was great to watch
Awesome Jimmy! Fun Fact, Michael Koel (one of the guys behind Cool Driving Events) has visited my house to try out some simrace gear just when it became more mainstream (Race07 era). Also did a couple of laps with him on Zandvoort and a couple of driving events on Lelystad. Him, aswell as Zwolsman are great teachers! Good choice by Heusinkveld to go with them ;)
Currently getting the supercharger rebuilt on my car and I gotta say man your videos are absolutely scratching that itch I've had since I've been off the strip and even peaked my interest in rallying as well I just wish there were more race tracks around me and I had the capital to really pick up on my hobby. Keep up the fantastic work man you absolutely have earned a new sub

Looks like a great event! I went to a driving experience @ Circuit Zandvoort a few months ago and got to drive a BMW, Porsche 911 GT3, Anston Martin and a McLaren on the track. Awesome experience!
