Just worth being a bit more aggressive in general. I’ve noticed that’s something that sim racing massively discourages. Moves that are totally normal in reality are often really bitched about online, so it’s just a case of separating the two worlds! Club100s are also weird things to drive. You really have to throw them around, but be smooth at the same time. Sure you’ll get there.
"Passes finish line, pulls over in a safe sport and holds ESC key... and BREATHE!" Nice one Jimmy it's a pleasure to watch these. Next stop, circuit racing :D
Hey Jimmy!, the content at the minute has been insanely good. If I could lend a wee constructive hand, I’d say try not to get too caught up in things. There are times where you gesture your disappointment (shaking head or hand of wheel) that will just slow you down and make you lose focus. Although after you were forced wide I was super impressed at the way you came back instead of getting caught up in it. It’s something that can be developed over time but all around promising signs from you so far!, Good shit!
We are all so proud of you and your progress this year dude ^_^ Really wanting to try karting thanks to you and steve! I hope that you continue all the progress you've made and get faster and faster :D
Hey Jimmy, if you don't already have one you should consider buying a Rib Protector, it's quite easy to crack/broke a rib in a kart ( even with just the bump of a track ). By the way, the guy forcing you into the grass doesn't deserve a penalty, you're on the outside, behind him, and i don't think he noticed you, that's more of a racing incident, it happen a lot in karting. Also when it's raining always stay on the outside of the racing line, you'll find more grip, and you can lean on the side (lean on the left when turning right / right when turning left) it will help find the grip !
Top effort again Jimmy. Don’t worry too much about the qualifying. That’s another first year, gaining experience thing where you can go from being on top of the world last time out and then something being not quite right when you get back in a few weeks later. Strong recovery through the two races. Particularly impressed with your overtaking. From my experience of watching and observing Club100, how that incident with the guy squeezing you played out, he probably didn’t know you were there, wasn’t deliberate and he’s looking to the left towards the late apex of hairpin 2 - racing incident for me. Your response though👌. Straight back on him, lined him up and had the poise to make a clean move. Sooo many times I see that move end up in a trip to the bin when aggrieved driver sees the red mist. Keep channeling that correct level of aggression on track. It will serve you well. Also welcome to the club of the Symes Sweep Break Dancers! It’s an illustrious club 😜 of chaps who like to bust a move in their karts down that hill. Glad to have you aboard and that there weren’t any lasting injuries. I hope. Hope we see you back in Club100 next year. Have a great Christmas and keep up the hard work into 2020. Thanks. Andrew M
Jimmer I've raced quarter midgets every Saturday for the last 12 years. Trust me, lean as far forward as you can and your wheight will transfer to the front wheels giving you a TON more grip. I've won entire races because of this tactic and it improves lap times. Only go as far as you need to on bigger corners though and experiment a little so you can keep a little wheight on the rear too. Trust me, I promise, this works.
I completely understand why you went faster after that crash. If you're anything of a racer (which it seems you are) then that crash fueled your rage, which then you instinctively converted into talent. It's a hard thing to explain for anyone who hasn't experienced it, but I used to race all types of different cars, karts included and this "rage mode" always translated to any vehicle I raced. Whenever I would have a disasterous start or get disqualified from qualifying and start last, that's when I would drive my best. After years of practice you'll be able to control that and just be able to turn on and off that rage if you need that extra boost when in a close race. Keep up the good progress and can't wait to see how well you do in a full season next year. EDIT: Also a little pro tip that may help. These club 100 karts look to be very similar to rotax motors in the US just based on sound and rpm range. If that's true then I highly recommend learning how to adjust the carborator settings on the fly. Small 2 strokes under 125cc like rotaxes have zero low end and all the power is in the top range so if you go into a sharp harpin where you can't carry much speed through then lean out the motor just before you hit your apex and then gradually richen it up as you increase speed down the straight. You do this just by resting your right arm on the head of the engine and making 1/2 turns to the dial on the outside of the carb.
Great video! I had my first Club 100 race that weekend, also in Sprint 60 LW, by recommendation of a friend and it's certainly a difficult field but lots of fun 😁
Hey jimmer, keep it up mate, from plenty of experience, karting is a totally different beast to cars, like you said be more aggressive mate, no polite guys in karts, you’ll get there mate, you’ve done an awesome job, love the channel, mr polite shed karting boi
Hey Jimmy, great job this season. We all have to start somewhere. Just try and focus on it as a long term process and don’t get too frustrated. Best of luck next season, excited to see what’s to come!
Nice one Jimmer, much better camera work (driving cam - not Steve's stellar work). Great Vid. Dont let a bad session get you down!, its going to happen every now and again, especially when you are learning. Its all incremental improvement.
Seeing jimmy in his rain coat and everybody else being in just their normal suits kinda reminded me of kimi malaysia 2009 just getting full wets on a completeoy dry circuit 😂😂
Literally 10 mins from my house buckmore park is an awesome track shame it rained half way through my race there so was sliding all over but awesome track 💪💪💪❤
Guess we'll see a million KraftKraft videos going forward into the new year! ;) I mean, that must be the best karting sim experience out there atm? :o Great show as always PassiveAggressiveBoi there! ;)
13:35 no, because the driver at the back mist know that it is inappropriate to overtake on the outside, if anything attack on the inside, the driver has no mirrors on a go kart and the driver was just taking the racing line, but it's just my way of seeing it

John Surtees !! If you don't know who he is, please if you have a love for motor sport look him up, read/watch as much about him, he is a legend for good reason, but often not talked about. You should buy a kark. I brought one on the cheap cost me £180(kosmic kart) and only had to get an engine for it. Worth it cause you can take you Owen kart to any outdoor circuit. Practice is what you need jimmer
@@podcastbunker If the best part about a motorsport is that it keeps you in shape then it probably isnt worth it lol. tbh though it is great fun but i prefer the idea of racing on tarmac as it seems to be much closer than motocross due to motocross having so many different lines. the jumps are great to do and everything but i dont think that same sort of level of racing is there in amateur series compared to amateur karting or something like that.
Let's hope Jimmy can get into an entry class with a real car soon. His stint in Holland with the BMW showed he can be good in a car and how much his sim years can help him there. Karting is very different from a car plus you have contact all the time that you have to use to your advantage which the other guys are used too and Jimmy is not. Real life videos are great either way. Keep it up.
im sorry jimmer but that was definitly not a penalty at 13:33 he wouldn't have known you where there so he was just minding his own business really and takeing the normal racing line anyway keep going and never give up!!!!!
Shielded72 That may be correct in serious works of literature, but either is correct. Read forums about it if you’re so inclined. I’ve read enough about the issue to know that both are accepted as correct. Besides, even if that were an issue, it’s not nearly as much of a problem as this guy’s *clearly* poor understanding about spelling basic words.
I'm almost always faster in a race than I am in Qualifying. I think it's because of the extra laps coupled with being in wheel to wheel combat gives you that little extra boost.
With so many drivers in there mixed up together, it must be crazy to know who is fighting you for position and who is lapping you. Is there something like a blue flag or is it done in such a way that the guy lapping you just have to overtake you and you don't need to move away etc?
How's the rib Jimmy? Had a similar shunt once, didn't feel anything for a few hours. Was a little tender later that night. Next morning I could barely get out of bed. Overtaking in karting is pretty much "see space, chuck it in and pray"
Club 100/BUKC*
Yep mostly true. Only have a bit of karting experience but there's literally no time to think, it's mostly instinctive.
That was my method, minus the prayer.
And if there is no space you make space and send it
Your and Super GT's karting videos are just pure gold! You're also evolving so fast, keep it up
